Still have both - one for nostalgia value, the other because it's still a viable option for me (512 & 8gb ram). I mainly use it to quickshare and store my Pixel pictures - Pixel 5 since you ask 😃
Probably my most favourite phone of all time. If Samsung would bring up Note9 "Remake" version with up to date specs like 120hz, SD elite, upgraded camera, etc ... Man can dream.
I'm currently running a Xperia 1 V, only flagship on the market with front facing speakers, headphone jack and expandable memory. For reals, it's the only cellphone with those specs I could find in my market
And then the Mk.6 also has that fantastic battery life. Granted the resolution is lower, but hey, being able to go all out on a flagship without it dying is pretty nice!
theryanthomas totally! I also share your testament about samsung experience, downgraded back to oreo a while ago because this is the software that truly belongs on the note 9.
Still have my note 9 from 2019! Replaced the battery and screen last year! Love the SD card slot, headphone jack, IRIS scanner and physical fingerprint reader! The IRIS scanner was extremely useful during covid where i could unlock my phone even with my mask on! Cant do that on my S23 ultra!!
Imo heaphone jack and mostly SD card slot are must haves ! That's why I write this on a very expensive Sony Xperia 1 V People pay for cloud storage like iCloud and pay for a music subscription when it should just be stored on an SD card
Same Reason I have a Kyocera UW 5G C6830 is if I need a Micro/Mini SD slot not sure the size. of course there was an update for Verizon that screwed all models not a Google Pixel, Samsung Galaxy the last 2--3 years, or I-Phone and a later one for all odd brand Android phones like mine that nerfed the built-in keyboard. Also, mine has a slot for a replaceable Sim Card, so I used the one from my old phone a Kyocera flip phone that worked to get all the phone numbers off the old phone. I do not need a headphone jack as the model version I have from 2022 comes with USB C audio so I can use a USB C headphone jack adaptor and this makes not needing a headphone jack a priority.
@@ClickingPixels There are Sharp phones, like Sharp Aquos R8 series that also ahave the 8gen2, and the regular R9 now only has expandable storage no jack Quite a few sharp phones also have a 1inch camera sensor which is quite interesting But you can't unlock the bootloader on them so I'll stick with sony Besides sharp and sony they're no one else that's at flagship level, perhaps HTC next year ?

Sometimes I believe that consumers don't have much power and choosing what they want, companies steer people away from these useful features so easily. Last year you had an sd card slot, next year you don't. I hate how this part of business works. They condition people so easily that you don't need an sd card slot, just pay $50 more for that extra internal storage. It's just ridiculous.
And some so called reviewers and influencers will push that narrative from companies. And consumers who actually demand these useful features are looked down by tech community,.
microSD cards are extremely unreliable, and for the average user it's not easy to pick a proper fast one (that will usually increase the cost the same as just buying a higher spec version of the phone). They make sense for data you can afford to lose and don't need to access them fast. Like music,... except that cheap/free services like Spotify made it so that no one is now storing their music locally. Or like pirated TV shows, except everyone now has Netflix. You should never use them for long term storage of personal data, because you will lose them, you should use cloud for that. It's no wonder people easily gave them up. They don't need them for anything.
@@JanVernyI want to know what kind of garbage cards you're buying because mine last many years before showing age. Spotify and those like it also don't always have the music many may want because of either licensing deals or the artist isn't popular enough. Everything you mentioned involves more money and those services you keep talking about don't always have the media you want and they require a network connection which isn't always available and can be expensive for many. You can definitely use cards for long term storage especially if you keep backups of your data LIKE YOU SHOULD. Stop talking nonsense. The sd card is a wonderful feature to have. I have a choice while you gladly moved away from yours. How much do you pay for all those services? How much data do you use? Do you stream your music in 24 bit? That must get expensive and is definitely using more battery life. If I want to record forever I don't have to worry about cloud storage or my storage filling up. I just keep going with my 1 TB card that I'm planning to upgrade to 2 TB. I watch my iPhone owning friend that is running her RUclips channel actually stop recording because she's out of space then wants me to use my Sony to record more which I'm fine with because I have the space for her media and my own. A 1 TB option also isn't cheap and as I stated, I can keep one card for pictures for certain trips and 1 for everyday use. I can do whatever I want. You don't have that option.
@@JanVernyI 100% DISAGREE you , average Joe wanna pay 100$/year subscription for cloud storage , No ONE NEED 1TB/SEC speed 😂 , people just Store movies , games , iso on it and it Does JOB , they ARE greedy , AND THEY WANT MORE MONEY THAT'S IT , you might not able to record 4k but you can set auto copy file 4k to 512 Gb SD card , I WON'T PAY 200$ MORE. for storage, sony being 1500$ flashing Offers ad card , headphones jack , why not samsung ? Thx is just excuse...
Ugh, it's so annoying when people try to argue against facts. No spotify doesn't stream high res music and none of these services are without costs. But the matter of fact is that people don't care. They had SD cards, and they still decided to subscribe to Spotify and Netflix, they still decided to put their photos into Google drive. Now those people just don't need SD cards for anything. Sony offers all of these supposedly desired features like pointless headphone jacks or microSD card slots, and the sale numbers literally explain that no one cares about them. Why the hell should Samsung include features that don't help sell a phone?
I LAUGHED at the fact that the year Apple removed the headphones port because (in their words) "To help us make the phone water resistant) YET, Samsung released a phone with TWO HOLES (headphones port and massive stylus hole) AND IT WAS STILL IP68! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 😎🇬🇧
@naraydaniels7832 Copy them? Oh I see... - Samsung and Google leading the way on AI and AI applications/uses... Apple? Haven't even started. - Samsung, Google (and others) leading the way on foldable/flippable phones... Apple? Same boring slabs with little or no actual improvements year on year. - Samsung, Google (and others) providing multiple increases in RAM to go hand in hand with faster and faster processors... Apple? "God dammit, our AI won't function with the 8Gb we told our customers they'd NEVER need more than 8Gb RAM (IN Phones, Tablets, even laptops), looks like we now HAVE TO up it to 16Gb, tisk tisk!"... - Apple - "Hey look, it's our new Mac mini! £/$500 for the base model, but if you want to buy the next RAM/Storage size up, it'll be TWICE the price! But it's cool, you CAN upgrade yourself.... With OUR PROPRIETARY storage chip... That'll cost ya loads, ONLY direct from us..." Yeah... Apple... The PERFECT company to copy from... 🤨😒
@thedarkknight1971 he's not hating on samsung he's just disappointed as I am. Samsung always do better than Apple but end up copying them by downgrading their devices. It's sad honestly when you think that they intentionally keep from innovating just in hope to sell like apple.
@@nasreddinehodja5930 Yeah, I DO agree with that.... Like for example... - Samsung COULD bring back on the headphone jack but ALSO do it justice like LG did (and that Sony do) by backing it up with a decent Quad DAC (I for one as a bit of an audiophile would fully appreciate that). - Also, Releasing their top tier 'S' phones with the latest Snapdragon SOC for USA, but then hobbling the same 'Top Tier' 'S' phones with Exynos SOC versions for 'Less important markets' like - UK, Europe, Australia and other countries meaning everyone else has to deal with overheating, laggy and lack lustre versions, but wait, Samsung say - "Oh It's because in those markets the Exynos SOC is more compatible with their network frequencies" REALLY Samsung? IS THAT WHY OnePlus, Motorola, Xiaomi, Red Magic, ROG Phone, Oppo and many others release their 'Top models' that have those SAME TOP Snapdragon SOCs (YES, the SAME SOC as the USA market 'Top Tieir 'S') IN THOSE SAME 'Incompatible network' markets? You're telling porkies there Samsung! 🤨🤨🤨 IT'S probably why Google is switching their next Tensor G5 SOC manufacturing from Samsung to the World leading TSMC... 😏👍
@@thedarkknight1971 Do yourself a favor, stop hating in the comments. Also, who forces you to buy Apple products or even watch videos about them? You have NO reason to hate them whatsoever. No one forces you to watch videos about products you don't like for no reason. It's just an irrational hate bred from other people who has nothing to do in life.
@mrwoodcat yeah, although the long range zoom of the S23 Ultra is still the best of all Samsung lineup (and they even "nerfed" it a bit, after 30x in One UI 6.1.1 onwards), and the S24 lost the edge panel, that will forever be remembered as a samsung trademark ahaha
The s24 is peak design in that last batch. It finally got us out of that ram downgrade they pulled after the note20. (The note 20 jad 12gb, then they downgraded the whole line to 8gb all the way up to the s23) The s24 brought us out of the stone age, and into the 12gb ram mark again. Then they got rid of the dumb rounded edges which got on the way of the spen functionality.
Currently rocking the note 9. Will rock it till it dies. Currently the sceeen looks ridiculously cracked. I love the finger sensor, sd card and headphone port. No camera bump. Curved screen (futuristic looking)
i understand why sammy sealed the battery... but i really think even to this day they should have kept the SD card, even if it meant sacrificing some profit they would've made from selling higher storage versions. swappable storage is priceless
Yes, BUT hasn't the MicroSD card ext4 format somehow gotten 'corrupted' within a year (of install?) This vexes me, and I've been thrilled to have an SSD have the sort of thing happen also...goodbye encrypted LUKS Steam install, maybe.
Hey Ryan, love your videos mate. apart from great tech reviews of products in the past the general vibe and laid back feel to your videos feel satisfying to watch. Thank you for these videos mate! ❤️
realistically speaking, the Note20 Ultra does all that the Noet9 does and more (headphone jack aside), and has a processor (the SD version) that still hold up very well even today, it would probably be a better choice in 2024
I wasn't expecting this to be about a Note 9. I bought it earlier last year, upgraded it to One UI 5 with Noble ROM, and it's great. The only thing I dislike is the battery life
hey Ryan! I recently discovered your channel and I've been HOOKED. seriously, your videos are both really informative and entertaining at the same time and i genuinely enjoy watching them A LOT. i was just wondering, do you plan to make a video on the Galaxy S10+? It's the closest Samsung's ever come to making the perfect phone imo. In fact, still use one as my secondary phone lol Keep up the great work!
I have just switched back from my iPhone X to my old Note 10 Plus. My note 10 suffered massive drop damage last year and was completely effed. So I just threw it a drawer switching over to my Dad's old iPhone X. Now that I have figured out the iPhone will never be for me, I bought a bunch of stuff from AliExpress and ebay including a 1:1 fake S-Pen with BT, gestures and everything for 16 bucks, an aftermarket screen and frame assembly (doesnt cover the edges but was only 65 USD, looks decent and the pen works lile a charm, too (image is ever so slightöy stretched now, but I got used to it already)), new backglass, SIM tray and 4500mah battery from a reputable manufacturer. Paid less than 120 USD for the complete overhaul and now have back a functioning phone that doesn't mind me tinkering with it... Imho the note 10 Plus is still an amazing phone all this time later and feels well modern for its age. However, it marks the beginning of the end of feature rich Samsung flagships. First flagship by Samsung without a headphone jack and last Samsung Flagship with SD support throughout the range (for the note 20 only the Ultra offered expandable Sim). What I definitely don't like about this era of Samsung phones are the curved Displays. Sure they look great, no question. But screen protectors are a nightmare to source and screen damage is almost pre-programmed. My note 10 initially lasted 4 weeks with a flip case before the first chip in the glass.
I have a S24 ultra , but I still have my Note 9 on my desk table that's in mint condition and works like a charm. Amazing phone and my battery is still at 86% capacity
@@nullcandyy I do really love sony's phones but man are they hard to get, also there is almost no after sale support at all, No replacement parts no warrenty no nothing. This depends on where you live ig
Most models now come without curved screens, a feature you pay extra for, then to have others, try the Kyocera models as they use smaller cameras and do not have curved screens. What do you mean by punch hole/notch? the finger ID, almost all phones have them now and have the better cases have openings for them. My brothers Galaxy mini also has a smaller camera, mainly only the flagship model has a massive camera setup.
Having 6 to 8 GB of RAM is rather more decent than just 4, but webpages have larded out something awful even without pop-up Toyota video ads...your ad blocker's doing some yeoman's work, but even so pages are big now. (That said, dunno if the Digi-Key page would load the whole catalog into a RESTful page if I stayed on it...)
If anything I just want to phone without a notch or a hole punch camera, just put notification light, camera, just in a thin single line, just make a phone without any obstruction to the screen, that would be awesome and 1000 times thumbs up from me.
I had to (properly) dispose of mine. Battery almost exploded. I miss this phone dearly but for a lot of things i do now it's just obsolete. I'm glad variable aperture is making a comeback!!!
It's quite surreal watching this on my Note 9. It's still my daily driver, no complaints really, but I honestly been looking around for something more compact...
I'm also watching this on my note 9 and have the same urge to go back to a more compact phone in the future. The note is perfect for watching youtube videos and series when laying in bed or in the couch but it's quite big to carry around daily. My next phone would be much more compact. Something like the zenfone 9 or 10.
Hands down, one of the best phones I've ever owned. If it wasn't for the battery life and software, I'd still be daily driving this phone in 2024 and even 2025!
Crazy how I'm daily using a galaxy s10 and it works perfectly fine, honestly I've never seen the difference between 60 and 120hz, and I don't see why it's so important
I mean, you'd need to be doing some pretty intense Fruit Ninja for that to register, but it might be more relevant in AR painting apps or a MOBA, say. Load up Riot's stuff and see.
I bought my mom one of those a year after they were new. I took it to a phone repair shop because it stopped charging, then had other issues. Then I had issues with the repair shop itself. Ended up buying another one (NEW) for less than I paid for the multiple repairs. I used Samsung's Smash Switch/Transfer app and now she's up and running on her favorite device on a new one.
This was the phone my father was still happily carrying up until the end of 2023 before I bought him his first iPhone. I'll be honest that it was a difficult adjustment for him in some ways. He was very comfortable with getting things done on Android and felt iOS was a bit restrictive by comparison.
I still have my Note 9 after 6 years, the screen is yellow/green discoloration and battery is mediocre but it is AMAZING. Tested multiple phones as I've wanted to change it, but it is hard.
I have a note 9 with noble rom one UI 6.1 s22 port. All ai features from s22 ultra work well. Its a play phone for me but I find myself using it a lot. Easy to install on exynos version. It literally makes it like new. The design is awesome and thin! Custom roms can revive these phone !
I'm still using it to this day for day-to-day uses, even I relegated my Xiaomi 14 to gaming only purposes. Because sadly this phone cannot run games (properly) anymore. Some tips for anyone who still uses this phone or planning to use for the following years: -If your screen struggle to register touch, slap on some cheap plastic screen protector. -If you have the know how, install a custom rom, it'll help with the snappiness of regular uses and battery life (I'm using Noble ROM rn). -Replace (or at least clean) the tip on the S-pen regularly, learned the hard way when some dirt on it scratched my screen. -Make sure to replace the battery if you haven't, it actually made a lot of difference in terms of performance on my Note 9.
I have mine still still working well not battery or screen issues. Only upper loud speak crackling in loud speak mode but to the ear it's fine. Phone still looks new, gave it to my daughter after her s10e screen gave up.
This video was absolutely beautiful! The way its filmed with the nice bokeh, the close ups and the satisfying voice is just amazing and it was very nice to watch! Just wanted to say that :)
I just bought my 1st semi midrange phone, tecno camon 30. But I will say, i am completely in love with the samsung note 9 since its launch. Such an beautiful and elegant design, not to mention the stunning display.
Can you make a video on the Redmi K20 Pro/ Mi 9T Pro? That phone was a real flagship killer at its time. It still holds own today. It had so many features like metal and glass build, telephoto camera, pop-up selfie camera and the flagship Snapdragon 855 chipset. It was truly ahead of its time.
The Note9 is the last model in the lineup to have a headphone jack and microSD card slot. The Note10+ and Note20 Ultra still have the microSD card slot despite no headphone jack, but the vanilla Note10 and vanilla Note20 have neither. Also, speaking of the vanilla Note20, it costs the same as the LG V60 when new. And what do you get with the V60? A headphone jack with superb built-in Quad DAC audio, microSD card slot, and an optional detachable Dual Screen case. It's literally a no-contest for the V60.
The note 9 was the first time I got excited to buy a (used) phone in a few years, it was great! I only replaced mine 2 years ago with a second hand note 10 because I really do prefer smaller phones. I only got the note 9 because the S pen was really really useful as an industrial design student. I made many concept drawings on my note 9 in Autodesk Sketchbook, as well as drawing notes on pictures of prototypes. Sometimes I still use my note 10 to quickly draw out a design idea at work or draw dimensions on a picture, but not nearly as often as I used to. My next phone will have to be without the S pen again because Samsung never made another small S-pen device after the note 10, and I really will miss it so I'm holding onto my note 10 as long as I can. I even replaced the battery last year!
Note 9 was the last Samsung phone I had and while I loved the phone, it also like all previous Samsung phones I owned had horrible screen burn within couple of months of me purchasing it. I went to a OnePlus 9 Pro after that and I am still using that phone today. I gave the Note 9 to my dad and he still uses it today. He is not bothered with a screen with 5 different shades.
Mine still works in 2024 and works fine. looks premium even now. And the screen and camera still perform well. Pen is good too. Except for battery and software support , wish It could have latest updates.
Note 10 well the whole 10 series felt like a downgrade to me. No expandable storage. No headphone jack. I also liked the physical variable camera aperture and at the time the in-display finger sensor wasn't reliable.
@@michaelb2226 Yup the Note 10 (particularly the non-Plus) was a downgrade in every aspect - no headphone jack, no MicroSD, "only" 1080p, notch, stupid buttons on the left hand side, battery size decreased. After seeing that phone (and all subsequent Samsung releases) I just have no interest in any of their offerings anymore, and I was a longtime Samsung Note user.
My wife has the Snapdragon version, still running strong after 6 years. I agree with opinion of the presenter. One thing he didn't mention is the ruggedness of the phone. My wife has dropped her phone multiple times, no damage yet. And it shows very little slowness after all this time.
The Galaxy S9, S9+, and Note9 were truly the end of an era in the smartphone market. Last of their kind. I still use an S9+ because it's just such a great device. Its age is definitely starting to show, so I'll upgrading soon, but I'm glad I was able to use it as much as I have.
I still have my Note 9 that I've had since new. I got the 512 storage and with a 256 card in it it beats any modern phone for storage. I don't use it as a daily now as I got the S23 Ultra, but still like to go back to it occasionally. Such a good phone that has/had it all.
This was my longest running phone. I usually replaced my phone every 2 years. This was the first one i kept for 4 years. It still ran smooth thanks to that gas cooling. I finally had to upgrade because it didnt have 5g access and because the charging port was getting finicky. Some things i really missed were the back fingerprint scanner which is faster than any other way of unlocking your phone. Plus could use it as a kind of mouse to bring down notifications. I'll miss the gas chamber cooling which highly boosted it's performance ( this phone gave me smoother performance than my lg v60 which had better specs) And i will also miss the expandable memory. I also though i would miss the headphone jack but not really. On my current phone, it took me about 3 months to notice that it didnt have a headphone jack.
Mine has the Snapdragon as a result the FM band is still active on it i downloaded an FM radio and even without internet I can listen to My fave radio stations music just fine
My buddy had this phone and it got burn-in like 2 months after the purchase. I used to be very pro front facing speakers but then I realized most of the time my phone made sounds I wasn´t looking at it from the front so it made more sense to have the speakers on the bottom and top sides.
Eazy repairability, Jack 3,5mm with a DAC build in, micro SD and the latest snapdragon, S24 ultra cameras as display, will be my dream phone I easily pay 2000$ for it
I still use two of them in 2024. Copper 6GB RAM 512ROM for media (Dex and nReal glasses). Same spec violet one for work. I'm finally looking to upgrade the work phone with the new Snapdragon Gen 4 coming out. I'm leaning towards the IQOO 13 BMW edition for speed, or the vivo x200 pro for photography. It was a good run but I want something that can crush Insta 360 video processing but also take decent photos and film.
Personally, I had a Galaxy Note 1. I still have it, although the screen is shattered and nobody sells OEM replacement parts. Very unfortunate because the S Pen was amazing.
I got an S10 snapragon version with 512 Gb, like if it was new this summer for 157euros. Best bargain I ever made, the phone is just perfect for me on android 11. Such a smoth, and strong device, and I use the jack port every day.
S and Note from 8-9 both were the most exciting time of the smartphone industry the design i loved those designs they actually felt premium and for the flagship positions
I remember this phone and was in love with it. This is the most handsome design in my opinion, after this model, Samsung’s Galaxy series doesn’t look appealing to me anymore.
still keeping s9 plus and one plus 7 pro. 9 series from samsung was beast, timeless, best till now. i would exhange my current phone s23 ultra if they ever made lastest phone with this kind of design, no ugly hole or notch, rich features (having clean display, iris scanner sd card and audio jack are my fav parts)
I adore this phone. Still using mine to this day. The Spen comes in handy from time to time, the screen is gorgeous and not having any notches or punches makes it even better. It powers any headphones I have well and the expandable storage lets me pack it full of files I need. This phone feels like the 1080Ti of phones, the apex of the market and a mistake Samsung will never make again.
Most of those features still exist on Sony Xperia phones with newer software and a build quality as good as that of any premium device (That's why I use a Sony phone). I think most people moved on and don't care, they just want a phone that can call, listen to Basic SBC/AAC audio, and browse the internet.
I had a note 9! I loved it, I got the brown/bronze colour, it was Gorgeous. I sent it to my bf who lives in Egypt - he cherished while he had it, he then passed it down to his younger brother. It Truly was a S-Tier phone.
Note 8 and Note 9 are so good, but if people want the same package with newer chipsets and still get some updates, I think the newer Sony Xperia 1 or 5 can nicely fill the gap. Yes, with the 3.5mm headphone intact!
Man, a version of this phone reimagined would be the best thing ever. I dont care if they use downgraded foldable phone cameras for it to maintain its form factor, and a smaller battery.
You should do a video on the Note 7. Before we had to give them back, it was my favorite phone by far. It had a home button still and the fingerprint sensor in the button which worked much better than the in screen sensor on my Note 10. I loved that phone and hated to give it up.
My Samsung Galaxy Note8 is still working flawlessly. I used that model as my daily driver for a solid 3 years. I agree, though, Note9 is better and it could very well be the pinnacle of the entire Galaxy line.

Do share how you broke the backglass instead of the frontglass? Which costs rather more to replace?

microSD cards are extremely unreliable, and for the average user it's not easy to pick a proper fast one (that will usually increase the cost the same as just buying a higher spec version of the phone).
*Linus noises intensify*
I LAUGHED at the fact that the year Apple removed the headphones port because (in their words) "To help us make the phone water resistant) YET, Samsung released a phone with TWO HOLES (headphones port and massive stylus hole) AND IT WAS STILL IP68! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 😎🇬🇧
Ah, the Samsung technique, laugh at Apple, do better, and then copy them anyways.
That'll cost ya loads, ONLY direct from us..."
Yeah...
IT'S probably why Google is switching their next Tensor G5 SOC manufacturing from Samsung to the World leading TSMC...
2018 was the best year for Smartphones! Poco, Samsung, LG, Huawei, Pixel, Oneplus were all at the top of their game!
S8 and Note 9 were the pinnacle
I'd say up to the S10 series was their all time peek.
Note4, S6 Edge, Note9, S10 and A71 = 🐐
@@Danilio.Exactly what I was thinking too. The S10 series was the peak of samsung phones. I should've never got rid of my s10 plus
I had a Note 9. I loved it. The zero compromises phone of 2019.
Isn't the Note 9 released in 2018?
@@nicehaircutmrsvarogmaybe he was able to afford it until 2019… I mean I got an S10e until 2022 😅
The exynos chip in it sucks. Laggy af
No compromises except for lag. Even my s23 utlra is lagging after 1 year. I dont how people manage to use samsungs for so long.
Not the pen tho.it breaks more than the 8
My uncle still has one. He bought it brand new in December of 2018. Still works flawlessly. And fun fact: he inspired me to get an S23 Ultra ;)
S23 ultra is a fantastic phone. I still have mine since March 2023
S23 Ultra refined the S22 Ultra the same way Note 9 refined Note 8.
Note 20 refined Note 10.
@@_ivan.ch_ yeah they refined it by putting a display that would show lines for god knows when
s23 ultra still has that bigger chin bezzel. s24 ultra is the almost perfection one (feature wise tho note 9 is still more richer. crazy right.)
@mrwoodcat
yeah, although the long range zoom of the S23 Ultra is still the best of all Samsung lineup (and they even "nerfed" it a bit, after 30x in One UI 6.1.1 onwards), and the S24 lost the edge panel, that will forever be remembered as a samsung trademark ahaha
The s24 is peak design in that last batch. It finally got us out of that ram downgrade they pulled after the note20. (The note 20 jad 12gb, then they downgraded the whole line to 8gb all the way up to the s23)
The s24 brought us out of the stone age, and into the 12gb ram mark again.
I bought this phone when I got into college, still using it, and I'll keep using it till the end of it's days, no complaints
Hey Ryan, love your videos mate. apart from great tech reviews of products in the past the general vibe and laid back feel to your videos feel satisfying to watch. Thank you for these videos mate! ❤️
LONG LIVE THE S-PEN!!!!!!
realistically speaking, the Note20 Ultra does all that the Noet9 does and more (headphone jack aside), and has a processor (the SD version) that still hold up very well even today, it would probably be a better choice in 2024
I am still using my Samsung Galaxy S9 from 2018. it's all I need. Many phones have come and gone since. But until this thing dies, I'll keep it.
In fact, still use one as my secondary phone lol
Keep up the great work!
It's on my list. We'll see if I get around to it. S10e video coming sometime soon btw
@theryanthomas cool, can't wait!
I wish we can get phones like the note 9 again, No massive cameras, with curved screens, no punch hole / notch
go for Sony then
You'd love a sony xperia 1 phone. Cameras that aren't obnoxious, no hole punch, very conservative design (and a headphone jack(In 2024!!!))
@@caseysmith544 I said no punch hole / notch, and I want a curved screen
Still using the note 9 till this day. Working just fine for everyday use
Battery lasts all day?
If anything I just want to phone without a notch or a hole punch camera, just put notification light, camera, just in a thin single line, just make a phone without any obstruction to the screen, that would be awesome and 1000 times thumbs up from me.
That wallpaper is sick!
It's a Kiroku/ByteReview special
Try the S10e, 256gb 8g ram. Love it
Hands down, one of the best phones I've ever owned.
Load up Riot's stuff and see.
your writing is so good, I really love listening to you and you manage to convey emotions and concepts really well
I bought my mom one of those a year after they were new.
If I have just 2 words that would be
"Corporate greed"
That is f ing customer satisfaction
I still have my Note 9 after 6 years, the screen is yellow/green discoloration and battery is mediocre but it is AMAZING. Tested multiple phones as I've wanted to change it, but it is hard.
The people I've seen still using this still rock them without cases, and their Note 9 still look brand new. It was built superbly.
mine fell 37282927 times and it had a small crack on the screen, and on the back but it looked amazing for its age and lifestyle lmao
I would happily go back to rocking a note 9 if it still got security updates
Close to 100k subs. Love ur vids. Keep up the good work.
Some tips for anyone who still uses this phone or planning to use for the following years:
-If your screen struggle to register touch, slap on some cheap plastic screen protector.
Just wanted to say that :)
my dad still uses this phone along with this iphone 12 mini
I just bought my 1st semi midrange phone, tecno camon 30. But I will say, i am completely in love with the samsung note 9 since its launch. Such an beautiful and elegant design, not to mention the stunning display.
One of my favourite phones ever. The blue+yellow version is gorgeous
I had one, the entire left portion of the screen was shadered yet it still worked for 2 years !!!
The note 9 was a banger, it convinced me to buy a Note 10 the next year!
@RanenPo well the 23 series enticed me enough to purchase one mostly due to needing a new one.
The note 8 and 9 were so great, I use my note 8 almost daily as a secondary device
I still miss my note 9. It was stolen in 2021 by a Lyft driver when I forgot it in the back seat.
That phone still looks gorgeous.
I still have my Note 9 that I've had since new. I got the 512 storage and with a 256 card in it it beats any modern phone for storage. I don't use it as a daily now as I got the S23 Ultra, but still like to go back to it occasionally. Such a good phone that has/had it all.
that under display home button is something i wish Samsung had kept to this day in it's flagships
one of the gadets that can be called perfection. no ugly camera bumps, no ugly holes or notches.. just a plack pure piece of engineering
Man your content deserves million subscribers man great work 👌
Would you still recommend the OnePlus 12?
This was my longest running phone. I usually replaced my phone every 2 years.
This was the first one i kept for 4 years. It still ran smooth thanks to that gas cooling.
I finally had to upgrade because it didnt have 5g access and because the charging port was getting finicky.
Some things i really missed were the back fingerprint scanner which is faster than any other way of unlocking your phone. Plus could use it as a kind of mouse to bring down notifications.
I'll miss the gas chamber cooling which highly boosted it's performance ( this phone gave me smoother performance than my lg v60 which had better specs)
And i will also miss the expandable memory.
Note10 Plus is nirvana of Samsung i think
still rocking and rolling to this day ..
Hi Ryan, Can you do a review of Lava Agni 2 & Agni 3 smart phones?
The rounded screen means you can't put a decent, glass, screen protector on it. Look at the S10e instead?
I'll rubbish that statement simply because I got one and it fits perfectly round the edges and then I slapped the case on it
@@1mezion Can you tell me which one you used? I looked into the S9 but the S10e won me over. Almost a perfectly flat screen.
@@1mezion The S7 has a slightly rounded screen, not as bad as the S7 Edge, and I've never found a screen protector that fits properly.
Oh man you gave me flashbacks.
I hated that display so much for that stupid design decision.
S and Note from 8-9 both were the most exciting time of the smartphone industry the design i loved those designs they actually felt premium and for the flagship positions
100% agree. I still have mine. Still works well (except the SPen, unfortunately).
One of the only phones my father bought out right it was definitely a good 5 or 6 years he used it now i have it and its still a great phone
Nice content Ryan. Hope you make it to 100K.
Note 9 here on Android 8.1. The best phone ever.
You should do a video on the Note 7. Before we had to give them back, it was my favorite phone by far. It had a home button still and the fingerprint sensor in the button which worked much better than the in screen sensor on my Note 10. I loved that phone and hated to give it up.
Yup, I am still using this phone daily since the first year it was published.
Both Note 9 and Note 4 was my longest owned phone so far. Both are really GOAT
Best Note in the series. Only wish it had the IR blaster LOL.
I would call the Ocean Blue Note, “Vegeta”. Blue framing with the yellow S-Pen.
My Samsung Galaxy Note8 is still working flawlessly. I used that model as my daily driver for a solid 3 years.
I agree, though, Note9 is better and it could very well be the pinnacle of the entire Galaxy line.
