I had some faux fur sitting in my stash for years waiting to make poms. I made one while watching this video - no shedding and it was easy peasy. I'm now making hats for my next craft show and they will fave fur poms! Thank you.
Thank you for saving my bank account! I wanted to start making beanies with Pom Poms for markets but buying in bulk is super expensive, especially when starting out. Thanks for such an easy tutorial!
It is SO MUCH CHEAPER! I am all for supporting other makers and getting them handmade but the cost of buying them when I was make like 100 hats a season was too impractical!
I’m not a professional seamstress but I’ve done plenty of sewing in my 46 years of life. I’m glad I watched your video because I was being way too perfect!!!😹
Excellent tutorial! I cannot wait to go purchase faux fur so that I can try to do this myself. I do have a question though. On the hats in the video with attached poms how much do you charge your customers for them? Thx for your time.
Thank you for the tutorial! I see that the way these are attached, you can't remove them off the beanie so does that mean they can be washed and dryed too?
I've honestly only used what was available at craft stores cause I'm very tactile and I wanted to touch it before purchasing, but I do have some online sources linked in this post: fiberandfox.com/blog/how-to-make-faux-fur-pom-poms-for-cheap
Great tips, actually! Once my faux fur hits the floor it's inevitably mixed with cat hair and toddler crumbs but if you're able to salvage some as filler that's a great money saving tip. And a blow dryer works wonders!
I didn’t realize how easy it is to make a fur pompon!!!! Thank you!!!
So simple, right?!

So glad to hear that! That's how I got into it too! I love supporting other makers but making them in bulk myself was much better for my business!
Hie. I also want to start a business. Did you succeed? Please tell me you did 😢
@@DavidzoSibanda yes, it is going well. Especially now the holidays are here!
Loved your tutorial. It's getting expensive to keep buying already made ones and this will give me a great start to making them.
Definitely can get pricey if you're making a lot of hats to buy them made!
I cannot believe how easy this is!!
Right??!! So easy to over complicate it!
Great video!👍❤️ I think this is a lot cheaper than buying each individual pom. Super helpful.

Thank you!! Great tutorial!

Thanks for this!
Glad you found it helpful!
Awesome tutorial! How would you add a keychain to the Pom Pom instead of the yarn?
I haven't actually done that so I can't speak to how, but maybe there is another tutorial out there on that specific thing?
Thank you!!!

Hello! Depending on materials (yarn/pom) used between $38 and $45 for adult women's for my puff and pom beanie pattern..glad you found it helpful!
@@fiberandfox, thanks sooooo much!
I love a fur Pom Pom
They are so cute!
Thank you for the tutorial! I see that the way these are attached, you can't remove them off the beanie so does that mean they can be washed and dryed too?
Hand wash and fluff with a blow dry is my go to! But you can also tie them in instead of sew!
(fluff pom after allowing hat to dry flat)
Very cool
Thanks!
Thank you great lesson. Where can we find fox fur. Any fabric shop is it? Pls advise.
There is a link below the video with a blog post full of resources!!
awesome 😀
Hope you make lots of poms!
Can you recommend the best type of faux fur? Are more expensive ones worth buying?
I've honestly only used what was available at craft stores cause I'm very tactile and I wanted to touch it before purchasing, but I do have some online sources linked in this post: fiberandfox.com/blog/how-to-make-faux-fur-pom-poms-for-cheap
Thank you for the reply 👍🏻😊😊
As filler Why not use the fur that comes from edges instead to vacuuming? Also use blow dryer to fluff. 😃
Great tips, actually! Once my faux fur hits the floor it's inevitably mixed with cat hair and toddler crumbs but if you're able to salvage some as filler that's a great money saving tip. And a blow dryer works wonders!
keep your scissors sliding into and cut only the base and u wont cut the fur. like if u cutting skin only. works every time
GOOD TIP!!
The best way to cut fur or faux fur is using a razor blade or an x-acto knife
Ahh yes but that is also the very best way I've found to cut myself 👌
who's karen structions?
