Savla, your tutorial is pure genius! I made my own Pom Pom following along and it was much easier than I thought! I’ll never buy premade again! Thanks 😊
Thank you, I am so glad to hear it. Definitely adding in the holes makes it so much easier than just using a sharp needle. I think it ends up being faster too.
Thank you so much for an awesome tutorial. Excellent instructions. I have been trying to figure out how to tie a elastic loop to my handmade pompom. Yay, thank you so much.
What an awesome tutorial, and the ending how you attached the pompom was awesome a lot easier than stitching it on, thank you for the great tutorial ♥️
I am glad you like the video, thank you 🙂I use different sizes depending on the size of the hat, mostly 5" squares for adult sized beanies and 4.25" squares for baby beanies.
Once I discovered poms with elastic loops I was sold. You can replace the strings with elastic on poms, I do that for some that I had purchased that had ties. I use these same elastic hair ties and knot them in the same way then depending on the yarn pom if the ties are a pretty thin string I sew the elastic loop on with the ties, or I cut the ties and sew on the loop. Some all ready made poms will have enough room in the center to shove the knot on the elastic loop into it so it is pretty easy to sew them on.
Love this. I've seen pompoms attached with thread with a button but if it's a gift the recipient may not have the ability to sew it back in. The rubber band makes removal and re attaching much easier.
Thank you, the buttons are ones that I designed and I sell them in my Etsy Shop, I am on a break though right now but they will be available again on Sunday. There is a link to my shop on my channel.
I buy mine at a few different places. The one pictured is from Joann, though the Joann nearest to me doesn't always have this one. I usually buy my fur in 6" strips and then cut it down into 4" or 5" squares. I have also purchased from Etsy and bought pre cut squares. Here are some of the shops on Etsy where I have purchased pom fur www.etsy.com/shop/KehrerBerryCrafts www.etsy.com/shop/Janeizit www.etsy.com/shop/CraftsEverywhere
They make it easier when attaching the Poms and really hold them in place, it also allows you to easily remove the Pom Pom so you can wash the beanie 😊.
I think it's genius to use the leather punch. I used that little rotary sewing tool but your idea is much better. Two other items, 1) do you have any ideas for safe adherence for a baby beanie? Currently I'm using ribbon. 2) I use a waxed thread and it is super strong!
@@joank8370 thank you, I just saw the rotary tool method and was thinking of trying it, but I like how easily the hikes are to see and almost any size trying can go through the hole with ease. I use buttons still for baby beanies, I always use the elastic loop poms, I just started using a smaller loop and smaller sized button for the new born beanies so that the button is't so big inside the hat.
This is such a great tutorial! I've purchased your buttons somewhat recently but I've been having trouble finding pre-made poms that work well for me haha. It's a fun little coincidence that I stumbled onto your video! I have just a quick question! How large of a fur square do you start out with, and how big of a diameter does the pom have at the end? Thanks in advance, and no rush on an answer in any way
I use 5" or 4" squares and the poms are usually just about the same size finished as the starting square. Though it does depend on how long the fur is.
Thank you! I am glad you liked the video. These buttons are about the size of a quarter, I sell them in my Etsy Shop too, there is a link to the buttons in the description.
I buy mine sometimes on Etsy by the square or I go to Joanns and buy it in 5” strips and cut my own squares. My Joanns usually has a good selection but if I just need a square or two of a certain kind, Etsy is a good place to buy by the square.
I will be relisting them tonight in the shop. They are just about the same size as a quarter. Of you visit my shop in a few hours they will be available again.
Thank you! I have been making yarn pompoms for my hats but i permanently attached them. I like this idea better!
Very thorough and helpful!❤
Thank you 🙂

You're very calm while teaching new things.👍😁

Finally getting to watch this, great video!!

Thank you for sharing
what size square do you cut with the faux fur? Wonderful video

Thank you, great video!!
Очень круто! Спасибо!
I really wish i bought all of mine with the elastic already added.

thanks so much for doing this~~ I was having such a hard time making these and had all this gorgeous fur. Off to buy your buttons for the hats!

Thank you, I am glad you liked the video. I agree, the elastic loop is so much easier to attach and remove then the strings.
Where do you purchase your buttons from? I never seeing those before. Beautiful work and you’re very good at explaining.
Thank you, the buttons are ones that I designed and I sell them in my Etsy Shop, I am on a break though right now but they will be available again on Sunday. There is a link to my shop on my channel.
Would you mind sharing where you buy your faux fur. I am struggling to find a nice quality supplies. Thank you.

what is the point of the pom button please? is it just to secure the pom? they are so cute i saw in your etsy shop. thanks
They make it easier when attaching the Poms and really hold them in place, it also allows you to easily remove the Pom Pom so you can wash the beanie 😊.
This is so helpful. Where do you get your buttons.
I make and sell the buttons in my Etsy Shop...their should be a link in the description.

Great tips and video! Where do you purchase your faux fur.
Thank you 😊. I buy a lot of my fur at Joann, but I also buy fabric squares from a few different shops on Etsy too.

@@Savlabot The listing isn't' active anymore for the buttons, are you going to have more? I'm interested in getting a lot. Thanks!

This link didn't work to buy the buttons 😢
Sorry the buttons are sold out right now, but will be back in the shop soon.
@@Savlabot ah no 😢 I need some urgently! What is the diameter of your buttons please?
