    When I hit 30, i began feeling pain in my joints. Wasnt as agile as i used to be and felt less energy. Then on I cut carbs significantly , avoided dairy products , avoided unnecessary sugar. I saw significant changes. Then slowly I brought back carbs, dairy and sugar one by one. I noticed that artificial sugar and dairy fucked me up. I enjoy carbs now but I make sure the carbs are not infused with sugar. Like some bread had sugar in it.
    You have to reverse engineer your rut and find out what is causing the problems in your body.

    • @luffebassen
      @luffebassen 2 года назад +11

      Carbs and sugar is pretty much considered the same by the body. Both are bad in high daily dosages.
      You for sure did the right thing.
      You just have one thing wrong. Mixing carbs and sugar does nothing. Its mixing of sugar/carbs and fat you need to worry about, since that will give you an increased insulin boost and its these super high boosts of insulin many times a day that will ruin your body and create insulin resistance and fatty liver + cardio vascular diseases.
      The way to reverse this western lifestyle disease routine, is to do what you have been doing and in bad cases then add in fasting.
      24h-36h once a week is super healthy for your body.
      If you can then cut out the breakfast and only do two meals a day, but still eat the same amount of calories, but try and limit the time window for your meals within 4-8 hours, then you are in for some serious health benefits long term.
      Oh...and eat more protein and healthy fats from eggs, bacon, coconut oil, olive oil, avocado`s ect and cut down on carbs/sugar and plant based oils and dont drink and no smoking, then you are on your way to live a very long life.
      OH...and STAY AWAY from getting the YOU KNOW WHAT in the arm!!

    I read a quote from 8 time Olympia champion Lee Haney once. He stated when it comes to working out, to "Stimulate not Annihilate." After reading that it all made sense, now I workout every two days and let my body rest and totally recover before I go back to the gym. If I'm sore, or still feel the after effects of my last workout, I'll take an extra day off. Along with consistency, ie 7 hours of sleep a day, workouts, and intermittent fasting, I'm 57 years old 6' feet tall and a solid 200 lbs. and like Alain said feel good....and believe it.

    I'm 52. January 1, 2022 I started a 365 day yoga challenge. 10 minutes a day minimum. I started with 10 minute yoga videos. Today is day 248. Now I do 60 minutes almost every day whether it's a class or a video or just practicing on my own. I do take a "light" day on Sundays where I just do a restorative practice. This coming Saturday, I start my 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training! Whodda thunk it?! I can honestly say that at age 52, I now have better flexibility than I did in my 20s. I can do a full headstand into a split and back into headstand. I can also do a crow. I'm working on full middle splits, side arm balance (side crow) and a handstand. I hope to achieve these by day 365 but honestly it doesn't matter when or if I get there, they're just something to aim for. The real gold is in enjoying the process. A year ago I could hardly walk. My hip hurt so bad from the lack of mobility. I started this challenge to gain some mobility and slow down the aging proces. By the time my challenge is done, I'll be a certified yoga teacher! All this to say... this man is spot on. Consistency is key. 10 minutes or 60 or 120... It doesn't matter. Just do it consistently. The rest will take care of itself.

My husband bought a pull up bar this week so I'm doing some hangs in hopes of preparing for handstands. I have a few kettlebells and I'm definitely open to incorporating those. Right now I'm taking it one day at a time until I finish my challenge and my 200 hr YTT. Do you have any suggestions for me once I'm ready to add the next layer? I get my proteins principally from white meat and peas and my quality carbohydrates from sweet potatoes and wild rice. The sources of my healthy fats are: nuts, coconut 🥥 oil, tuna and sardines. I eat my fruits after training so that my body can deal with the sugars of the fruits VERY efficiently.

    Consider. They didn't bring Rushmore to the mountain. They turned the mountain into Rushmore. No mountain. No Rushmore.
    You are a building block. Eons have passed before you and will after you. Here and now. Connect with your lifeforce. What does it tell you? Listen closely. Heed that.
    Go to a track. Sprint. Time how long it takes you to recover. Do that over and over again until you're satisfied. Not all in one day, but over time. Come back once a week. Once every 2weeks. Just everytime you come to the plate, swing hard and true with your eye on the prize.
    Be like Water. Listen to Bruce Lee. Be like Goku and Gohan during the days before the Cell Games. Enjoy life. It helps you appreciate nothing is promised. Put in the work, but also take time to recover and have faith in how hard you've trained. Simple.
    The only comparison you can accurately assess is how you feel now compared to how you felt then. Everything else is subjective.

    People always ask me the same thing. "How do I look like you?" Everyone has a different genetic structure. Every man isn't naturally muscular! It's God given genetics. Alot of people are just lazy, and lack discipline to get the best version of themselves. I'm naturally muscular, and so is my younger brother. Majority of men have messed their bodies over at young ages and they now want hulking physiques with little to no work

    Your podcast with Alain has taught me never to judge a book by its cover. I've been following him for years but until now I thought he must be like every other meathead I've come across from the bodybuilding/powerlifting community - how wrong I was! I would have never guessed that he'd be someone who comes across as being so gentle, thoughtful and intelligent. This alone lends credence to the claim that he's truly natural in my opinion, anyone who's familiar with abusing high dosages of androgens and being around others who do too will know what I'm talking about.

    Loved this!
    Those that age well physically without the use of trt or steroids get accused by:
    (1) those who have insecurities about their own lifestyle choices and practices;
    (2) those who are trying to get away with the same lifestyle practices they could get away with in youth;
    and or (3) those who have a narrow view of what we are capable of if we focus on the “little things added together to make it a whole.”
