Every time I hear the crowd sing I get goose bumps. It’s amazing how a man who drank and got as fucked up as Ozzy, who seems to speak another language off stage, can get up looking like he just got out of bed and got plastered can give one of the greatest performances like a bat out of hell no matter how old he is. I’m not down on Ozzy, that is amazing that he can do this- and the fans love him for it.
@@GrimyGrimyBoy he is unhuman with his pinch harmonics and the precise speed. I've been trying to learn his style in about 5 years now and I still cannot do stuff hr does the way he does it.
I've been a devout Zakk fan since my first go-around with No Rest for the Wicked. Haters are gonna hate no matter how good something is, but Zakk has always been a solid player. His guitar work on those first two Ozzy albums was some of his best in my opinion, but I can definitely say that I like all of his stuff.
"Let me see your cigarette lighters"... I'm around 40 years old kids, but back in the day the arena was lite up by lighters not cellphones recording videos and you could actually enjoy the concert that you took your hard earned money and time off from work to enjoy
I feel like this was peak Ozzy. I mean, he was musically untouchable from '70 to '91, but at his absolute zenith here. He sounds great, he even LOOKS healthier, and No More Tears is probably his best album (with a few close competitors of course, eg I ADORE Bark at the Moon). What an icon.
Wonderful Mike Inez before Jerry Cantrell nabbed him for Alice In Chains.... and beautiful Zakk Wylde. When Alice In Chains came calling, Ozzy threatened to put a boot in Mike's ass if he didn't take the opportunity. With Zakk... Ozzy and Sharon gave him a solid structure. With BLS, he always reverts back to what Ozzy taught him about tours and keeping your setlist in tact. I have a lot of respect for Zakk as a guitarist. Whenever he plays a Randy Rhoads tune, he finds a way to honor Randy's memory while remaining true to his own style.
@@chuckmcgill6673 The first thing he actually sat down and worked on with AIC were the two songs for Last Action Hero... What the Hell Have I and A Little Bitter. AIC made him a full-fledged member after that. He came up with a baseline for A Little Bitter. I Stay Away was a Mike Inez tune where he came up with the baseline and helped with the lyrics. The violins in that, there's no sheet music. Jerry showed them what to play on his guitar and the violinists copied it. I'm a HUGE fan of AIC / the Layne Staley years.

@@tamibrandt Yeah I know all that you wrote since Aic is my fav band haha,Mike has had some epic basslines and his live performances are just great. His bass which he said ozzy bought him is just a piece of art,an epic tone and ofc the man is very very talented to play it. And by Layne years does that mean you haven't listened to their newer stuff?
@@chuckmcgill6673 I'm in the camp of No Layne/No Chains, because no matter which singer you put up there to sing those songs, it'll only be a cover. Layne had a unique voice you cannot replicate or replace. A lot of those songs were great because Layne pretty much wrung his entire soul out singing them, others were personal to Layne and to have someone else sing those, the songs lose their meaning, because the new guy didn't go through the ordeals those songs are inspired by. Half the Dirt album is Layne writing about his feelings on his own addiction. A good portion of Tripod is Layne pissed at Susan Silver for guilt tripping him into doing the album before trying rehab one last time (Basically screw rehab, do the album). So in retaliation, Layne drug out the recording for MONTHS (well it dragged on for months for other reasons too, but you get the point) William singing Them Bones on the 2006 reunion tsunami gig.... while, yes, that was a Jerry Cantrell song, William DOES NOT have the power in his voice that Layne had especially for that song. Maynard James Keenan could get remotely close to Layne's vocal range for that song (and many others). And Maynard would have the reverence for Layne's memory, he was friends with Layne, he KNEW Layne, had history with Layne and saw what Layne went through from Lollapalooza 93 until Layne became a recluse. Besides, Maynard already had 2-3 bands going on, why not join a fourth band? William singing Love Hate Love. Layne in 1990 live at the Moore is UNTOUCHABLE PERFECTION played live by a rock band. It's a song Layne wrote about his relationship with Demri and to have William singing that... I ran into Jerry doing Got Me Wrong with STP... that felt almost sacrilegious and off-key without Layne just watching it.
