Love Zakk. While being one of the most recognizable shredders, he’s got to be the most humble guy out there. Always funny, always respectful and constantly gives props to other guitarists. While with Pride&Glory, he came out for a drink before the show and almost no one recognized him. I asked him for a pic and had a toast of a cold one with him. He just sat there like a guy from same neighborhood having beers with us. A hell of a guy
Thank you! For posting this. Zakk for playing this. I will eventually watch this 100 times. Who else listens and watches Zakk, and your worries seem to disappear for those moments?
This song has been on my Playlist for decades and if it comes on and I am almost home, I end up circling the block until the song is over. One of the very rare songs I cannot stop before it finishes
Same here. I literally just circled the block finishing the album version. But then sought out this video just to see the man himself play it again while sitting in the driveway.
My husband play's this song dam good and loud. My grandma will watch my husband play if the guitar player has to work and can't make it to play. And he will show up when he get's off work. And both him and my husband will jam together.
He wasn’t on time there but they didn’t do another take. Fine with me. I saw that concert at 2 different venues, Alpine Valley, Troy Wisconsin, The World, music theater Tinley Park, Illinois. He may have made mistakes then too. Can’t remember. I was working hard installing carpet in Naperville Illinois for Sears in the Fox Valley Mall, 1/2 million dollar occupied homes take up furniture thick heavy carpet in and out 6 days a week for 7 years. Figured I deserved to party just as hard so I did. Wisconsin included water skiing and knee boarding on lake Como with the Tommy Hollond band (Michelangelo on guitar). One night after the Rush Roll the bones concert. Tommy’s wife who was tending bar in Lake Geneva served Alex Lifeson.
Ya ever watch a master carpenter give a clinic? If you just watched this you did! I’ve always loved this song. The message is very dark, but the song is incredible because of this man and his axe. It always brings tears to my eyes for some reason.
It's amazing how skilled he is, and that is one of my favorite guitar solos of all time ... the atmospheric buildup to it, then the escalating tension until the final note. So good!
The solo in this song is nothing short of perfection. I never disliked Ozzy but this album and this song specifically made me pay a lot more attention. Just an excellent riff and then.....that stunning solo.
There are only a handful of solos that I just can't get enough of.. This is one of them. I mean driving down the road i'll steer with my knees while "air guitaring" the solo. Its just so damn badass.
Really like this. No talking...just playing...and you get to see up close exactly how the actual guitarist plays it...not someone trying to cover it. Very nice and thanks!
god he’s so good. it’s crazy man. this might be an unpopular opinion but i think zakk is the best guitar player that i’ve heard in my life… that man absolutely shreds the damn guitar like it’s nothinnnn.
He is truly an amazing guitarist, in my top ten. Because he is a total original, he was able to validate his statement when he said Dimebag was the best all around guitarist on the planet. Zakk is absolutely a god with the axe. But no one can replicate Dime. His sound was so unique that when he past away that sound was lost forever. And no one will ever be able to replicate it. I’ve heard Zakk do his best play the solo on “Walk”, and it’s just not even close to Dimebag’s sound. You ask any of the worlds best musicians past, present, and future. And it’s pretty much unanimous.
Slide guitar is easier to do once than people realize once you get the basics down. The real talent is composing the great riff, that is where the true talent is. Zakk is amazingly talented in composing these riffs. Kudos to Zakk!!

Still one of the best albums I bought in 91 and still on my favourite all time list. That line up of Ozzy, Zakk, Bob, Mike and Randy RIP, was one of the best he had.
Zakk’s solo in this song and Slash’s solo in the Sweet Child o’ mine are easily my top 2 faves. Not necessarily for difficulty, but for depth and appreciation. They always cause me to cease whatever I’m doing and concentrate my attention on those parts of the songs. 🙌
I just really love how he still plays it so smoothly and not choppy, like someone would probably do after playing this song thousands of times through the years.
I met Zakk in Dallas at Reunion Area. He signed a few thing for me and then asked “are you hungry follow me “led me to the green room where a full blown buffet was set up and said help yourself. All I had was a low level meet & great pass and because I walking with him through different levels of security I was able to stay backstage and then sit with Zakks mother at the sound board for the show then went backstage after the show waited for Ozzy to come out and got to say hello to Ozzy no autographs he was trying leave quickly but stopped long enough to say hello nice to meet you to everyone that was around. I never saw Zakk again after the show. I hope get to meet him again in August for the Tribute show in Arlington.

Ozzy's success definitely played a role in his choices of some of the best guitarist in the world.
I’ve wanted to see him play it this way in this setting and mix levels since I first heard the song. What a blessing this is
AMEN & AMEN!!! I LOVE HOW HE CLICKS IN THE WAH AS HE'S FINISHING THE LAST NOTE OF THE SOLO! AMEN!
I actually found a renewed love for a song that I had played to death. Zakk is a legend.
There are ONLY 2 guitarists in this world.......RANDY AND ZAKK!!!
Dimebag motherfuckin Darrell!!!!🤘🎸👌🙏🏻
There are 6 true guitarists of our time that defined the instrument. Randy, Zakk, Eddie, Jimi, Stevie Ray, Dimebag. I will argue this lmao
Don’t forget about Jake E Lee!
Synyster
This entire album is some of the best heavy metal guitar ever 🎸🤘🏻
I love how he's documenting how to play his songs. Like all the solo Playthroughs he does. I Hope he does more full playthroughs like this. Awesome
Love that solo. It's just pentatonic riffing but with Zakk it feels like he's beating the listener to death with a sledgehammer. Amazing.
LMAO yup and thats his talent, and exactly what I love about his playing!!
The feel, the dynamics and the raw power....can't think of a better guitar solo right now.
One of the great metal guitar players, ever.
I hope you live a long life Zakk!
Thank you! For posting this. Zakk for playing this. I will eventually watch this 100 times. Who else listens and watches Zakk, and your worries seem to disappear for those moments?
4:15 🤘That Solo - Every F**kin Day! 🤘
5:30 is one of the most iconic underrated technique
6:50 that subtle time signature change always gets me. Such a good song.
It is genius, he just reads the riff on the other side of the beat and it feels like the song is deflating as it is ending. So good.
Love Zakk's work on No rest and No more tears ... and he was so young, already writing masterpiece solos
Zakk has the epitome of perfect guitar tone for heavy music. Period!
🤘🤘🤘🤘
S.D.M.F.
EMG for the win.
@@miserychannel69 SPX90 used to be his sound
I met the man himself! He was an absolute riot! Big dude with a big personality!
This stressed me out first time because I thought Zakk wasn’t going to get the slide on in time.
Hahahahahahaha, same dude
😂😂😂😂 me too
😂
How dare you.
Zakk Wylde has the strongest index finger in the world. Also a metal-god. It awesome to see the artists perform play throughs.
That guitar solo is pure magic, his guitar playing is amazing. Zakk is a guitar master and guitar God
So good!
Just casually knocking this out... Granted it's his own composition but still...effortless. Amazing. Zakk is so fucking good.
The solo in this song is nothing short of perfection. I never disliked Ozzy but this album and this song specifically made me pay a lot more attention. Just an excellent riff and then.....that stunning solo.
One of the very best riffs ever in rock/ metal.
This is easily Zakks best song. The solo is pentatonic minor 101 hard rock goodness.
I love fields of unforgiveness
I like miracle man’s solo the best
god he’s so good. it’s crazy man. this might be an unpopular opinion but i think zakk is the best guitar player that i’ve heard in my life… that man absolutely shreds the damn guitar like it’s nothinnnn.
His precision, speed and signature sound is imo unlike anyone I’ve ever heard. I’d like to hear him try some polyphia songs though
He's definitely on the short list.
Zakk is one of a kind.
FANTASTIC,YOU HAVE A GREAT EAR FOR KNOWING WHAT TO PLAY ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC GUITAR PLAYING ! REALLY !YOUR STYLE OF PLAYING AND TONE IS JUST PLAIN GREAT 🎸🎼🎶🎶🎶! AND YOU ARE AGREAT SOUND ENGINEER 🎸OZZY KNEW HOW GREAT YOU ARE 🎼🎶🎶🎶🎶🎸🎶👍✌️😎BOB. Z.W.RULES 🎸👍😱. 5:54
It's incredible how beautifully he works with every single note . bravo maestro
DUDE .....ZAKK is such a BADASS
That's incredible to watch. Love watching Zakk play through songs.
Dr. Zakk here to give us our medicine.
Single Dad here. Starting my day super early as usual....asking the world wtf?! Stumble across this just before dawn.
Enough battery for another day.
Sigh. Thanks for this.
Hang in there! I bet you've gone through a lot in 7 months since that comment, things come and go (both good and bad), wishing you all the best!
Zakk has got some mitts on him, I bet his handshakes are brutal. What an all round beast.
Damn Zakk really plays incredibly hard!!! Like not just “figuratively” but like heavy man!!! Shit just bending that shit harder and heavier and his picking too, like damn not like he ain’t my top 3 faves of ALL TIME, but every time I listen to this guy I’m just more blown away by all that he does, and IS!!!! Big love bruh, from hillbilly heaven!!!
I could watch him play all day. I wish I had an ounce of the talent he has.
I saw Ozzy live at 73 yrs. One of his last concerts. Mr. Tinkertrain is one of zak's best works of art.
Still one of the best albums I bought in 91 and still on my favourite all time list. That line up of Ozzy, Zakk, Bob, Mike and Randy RIP, was one of the best he had.
Honestly, I don’t know if there’s a better example of a guitar solo telling a story. One of the best of all time.
Listen to the opening solo from in this river live in Paris. THAT SOLO is raw emotion and stages of grief... brings tears to my eyes still.
Zakk’s solo in this song and Slash’s solo in the Sweet Child o’ mine are easily my top 2 faves. Not necessarily for difficulty, but for depth and appreciation. They always cause me to cease whatever I’m doing and concentrate my attention on those parts of the songs. 🙌
Both great but I can't have Painkiller's solo out of my top 2. I also put Cult of Personality up there with these 4.
This guy has talent. I hope he joins a band and makes it big one day.
Of the thousands of guitars solos I have heard over 40 plus yrs this is and always will be my favorite solo of all time.
Total masterpiece solo with so much feeling, certainly not just ' a bunch of notes'
Did someone just say a bunch of notes? ~ Kirk Hammet
Just one of metal's all-time greateat solos. Just effing badass. Perfection. 30 years old and still fresh.
my hero
the mighty Viking has blessed the metal community with his power. Thank you ZAKK for your gift to the world.
I just really love how he still plays it so smoothly and not choppy, like someone would probably do after playing this song thousands of times through the years.
DEFINITELY ONE OF THE GREATEST SOLOS EVER IN METAL .
One of the greatest songs too.
Amazing tone, amazing solo, amazing guitar player!!!!!!!!
that solo.....perfection
Zakk is one of the greats. I'm 50 and I want to take guitar lessons from him.
I’ve been struggling to play this solo for months!!! This video couldn’t come at a better time!!!
See you in January with the Doom Crew bud!
I’m sorry but I’m going to be lazy and ask you what tuning this is
@@nathanielvargas3863 Drop-C# bro. Meaning Drop-D but the whole guitar down half a step too.
This is why I love Neural DSP transpose! Songs I wouldn’t play the right way I can just tweak the tuning with a roll of the mouse!
I play Korn on my 6-String LP too 😂
I still remember the first time I heard this and the goose bumps I got when he rips on those top strings at 1:00. Just totally sets the stage.
