I love the game, though I wish there's more of Dagas and less like Dahlia. They can all exist, just, more cohesion and more character types like aren't blatantly fan service. Dagas isn't very good. He has one aux core slot, his specials do unimpressive damage, and he has Godfrey tier field skills. His only noteworthy skill is Kaiser Zone, but it's not really good enough to warrant using a blade as bad as Dagas. Now Dagas on the other hand, Dagas is amazing! Kaiser Zone is a huge damage increase (it even increases the range of aoes!), he does good damage by himself, and he's got three aux core slots to boot. He's really good!

At least Agate does more damage than Dagas when you initially pull him. His starting ratios are kind of pathetic, combined with his singular aux core slot.
@@conorb.1901 It's an absolute tragedy that that isn't as good as it sounds, on the fact that Agate's third, and thus fourth and fifth key affinities, are locked behind her Blade Quest. Which can't be finished until the Land of Moritha. Seriously, why does she have to wait so long to get anywhere!?
Dagas has always been one of my personal favorite blades, both because of how good he is in combat but also because I really like his characterization. I know a lot of people get annoyed that he essentially hides his true power from the party to first see if they're worthy of his strength, but I think it shows that he recognizes that his power is indeed very strong and he doesn't want to misuse it by fighting for the wrong people, unlike other blades that simply fight for the people that pulled them because that's what blades do.
Fun fact about Dagas, he's called Dagos in the Spanish translation of the game, for whatever reason. He and Herald are the only blades that changed their names in the translation.
Might have been to prevent any copyright issue from Square Enix, since there 's a character in FFIX called "Daga" which, you may have guessed, is a direct translation of the english name, "Dagger" And since Herald's name is just an english word, they also directly translated it to "Heraldo", which is the spanish word for it

i literally did his quest like 4 days ago, i dont know why people dislike his character, yea its annoying his chart resets but...IT MAKES SENSE what doesn't make sense is the fact he has nopon wisdom...that is random
I think the main reason why opinions on Dagas' character are so divided is because he behaves so haughtily during both his heart-to-heart & personal quest (not everyone likes the narcissistic archetype, especially those who've grown up having to deal with similar such people IRL)
Some people believe that a blade having Nopon Wisdom is a hint at their first ever driver being one of those fabled Nopon drivers and I wholeheartedly support this notion. Mainly because the image of Dagas and Cressidus living alongside a Nopon is hilarious to me.

When I played XC2 again this year, I had gotten a couple core crystals from random enemies on the way to Torigoth the first time. After the crystal tutorial, I decided to pop some cores to fill out my blades. Dagas was my first pull. He became my mascot for the entire playthrough.

He was actually one of my first rares, but I got him on Nia... I didn't understand how he was good at first, but that was before I did his quest. Now he's on Zeke, and I use him a lot. Thanks for the guides Enel!
Dagas was the first rare blade I ever pulled. Which is weird since he is never a pity blade and his pull rate is already low. Hated him at first because he was so stuck up; but since he's the only side blade that gets any real character development, so much so he's pretty much a new blade programming wise, he became one of my favorites. Contrast that with Sheba who's quest only showed her as an obnoxious spoiled little twat that never grows beyond that, and it just goes to show how much a quest can make or break a blade. Expected a meme video just telling you to put Dagas on an ally and then use literally anybody else Got an actual guide and was pleasantly surprised to learn that he's also just a solid Blade LMAO thanks Enel
I use Dagas merely as support. I use Tora with QTpi, Dagas with Dagas as principal Blade and T-Elos and KOS-MOS, and Mòrag with Elma, Corvin, and Patroka. I have the aux cores that increase affinity by 250 when the enemy attacks first and also the aux core that increases affinity by 250 when you attack first. When I start the fight, I have instantly the 120% extra damage for Dagas, y use QTpi to break and Dagas with Zeke to topple, chain attack, and BOOM, thanks to Dagas damage increase, QTpi awesome damage and level 1 special, Elma and her also amazing damage and level 1 special, and T-elos fast and powerful level 1 special, I can damage cap all hits in a chain attack defeat Kurodil in 25 seconds.
Hey this is the blade I've seen in every video but it's the one I don't have, even though I have KOS-MOS. (I'm sure I'm sure I'm missing some other ones too but Dagas is like in every Enel video)
The important thing for that area of effect increase is that it's likely the radius being boosted, that 120% is misleading... Pretending something had a range of say, 3 meters, it's normal area would be ~28.26 square meters. But with Kaiser Zone that becomes a 6.6 meter range for an area coverage of ~136.78 square meters. Meaning it actually increases your the are of effect coverage by around 5 times!
Enel could you please also do a guide on how to outfit the characters you don't play as? Both drivers and their blades, cuz sometimes just like you said on this video you run hunters chemistry on dagas and sometimes you have crystal earrings on someone or w/e and id like you to go a little more in depth on that department
I've never used him because on my first run he was my last rare blade and by that point had Zenobia (This was before all the stupidly broken DLC came out though)
Hi Enel, came back to this video after a while. I've 100% XC2 completely with literally everything done, and was teaching someone about XC2 and optimal builds. I was wondering if the Sunlight Chip was worth considering for Dagas. The changes are auto attack from 1697 to 1680 (minor decrease), block from 15% to 5% (which doesn't really matter) and crit from 27% to 30% (minor increase). The main reason I ask about this is the Sunlight chip effect of granting 500 additional HP. If Dagas is pure support and is only being used for Kaiser zone, is this possibility even worth considering to increase survivability slightly? Or is the 25% crit damage boost on Tachyon chip just more beneficial even if he very rarely/never sees battle.
@@EnelXC I see, that makes sense. The crit damage likely helps for slightly better time consistency in challenge modes on the rare occasion he's pulled out for a chain attack or something. Thanks for the response, Enel, was very helpful :)
So I never used Dagas due to being completely unaware that he's only good after you do his Blade Quest. Keep in mind, I didnt just hate bad Dagas due to sucky combat capabilities, but also because I hate how arrogant he acted. Im gonna go do his Blade Quest now.
for as much as I love to use my favorite blades and how much I hate Dagas I agree that Kaiser Zone is hands down the best support skill in the game and quite frankly the only reason I can tolerate his high and mighty attitude now imagine if Mythra had that along with foresight
Kaiser zone seems super useful. I've been playing on BoC mode and so I'm always trying to figure out how to stay alive but do damage. What would be the best way to keep up kaiser zone with a.i partners?
My doubt is against Elma. With Patroka and Adenine in theory you have a 300% elemental damage advantage but if you remove one of them for Dagas you lose a 150% elemental damage but you win a 120% damage and AOE damage in general. In theory if Elma doesn't summon her clones the first option is slightly better if you know how to glitch the ghost factory skill but if you don't then Dagas is extremely reliable, because not only your party members hit harder but also the clones can be dealt with effectively and once the clones are eliminated, you can focus on Elma with the three party members that still have the damage boost Dagas can provide. Galactic Strike will hit all the clones with Dagas, something unthinkable with Patroka or Adenine though.
@@tesladrew2608 Apparently, you can glitch Ghost Factory if you use a level 4 special when Elma is about to summon the clones. She summons the clones every two minutes, until a max of 10 clones iirc. If 1 minute and 55 seconds have passed since her last summoning ritual and you use the level 4 special, both animations overlap and Elma is unable to summon ghosts anymore, making the battle a lot easier without having to use an orb to seal the ghosts. I did it with Corvin but I suspect it works with every level 4 special, so as long as you time it right, you can get it.
@@juanjosedelpinorivas7099 See that's weird, because it bled into the level 65 version. She tried to summon the ghosts when the fight began but she couldn't. I definitely didn't have a level 4 then lol. I thought it might have been because I dragged her over to the corner when I did the 60 version, I don't remember if I did a level 4 or not there.
@@tesladrew2608 I guess the game try to cope with the animation but because the level 4 is in motion at that specific moment, there's a risk of crashing the game, so it decides it's better not to summon the clones.

@@alakazamlover4908 Would recommend completing the optional Ardun feeding “quest” in Torigoth to unlock the lvl 99 unique monster Relentless arduran. Great way to grind cores w/ driver combos using Tora and Rex/Zeke because it has a decent amount of HP but isn’t as difficult as some of the superbosses. Turn on custom difficulty and toy with enemy max HP and attack power to let you fight it as long as you want and keep doing driver combos w/ treasure sensor ability common blades in the party and you should get enough cores to hopefully get her in no time
my favourite blade in the game.
sick design and what can I say... I like winning.
I just randomly got him on Zeke from a common crystal. The fact that now i have to do a quest and max him out means that my weekend is pretty much ruined
My team setup (i have no dlc)
Tora:All poppi forms
Rex: Mythra zebobia and nim because she boosts blade combo effect
Zeke: KOS MOS Dagas and a common with orb master and ultimate combo
Mórag: Mikhail Boreas and a common eith orb master
Nia:Wulfric Dahlia and Perdido
I think there is a typo in the title, it’s supposed to say “How to use Kaiser Zone”
He already made a video on that 😂
Dagas the man, the myth, the legend!
Wow, increased Topple damage and a lv4 special go together like coffee and milk.
Expected a meme video just telling you to put Dagas on an ally and then use literally anybody else
Got an actual guide and was pleasantly surprised to learn that he's also just a solid Blade LMAO thanks Enel
How to use Dagas:
Step 1: Give Dagas to AI controlled Driver with no other blades.
Step 2: Profit
When the Narcissist is the Best Support in the game
I never worked on Dagas' chart because I heavily disliked him at the time so I am definitely curious to see what I've been missing on gameplay wise.
No one:
Enel from 11:00 to 11:23 : "smash" also **maths expert**
Dagas: Later is the best time to do anything!
Dagas in a nutshell
I've never used him because on my first run he was my last rare blade and by that point had Zenobia (This was before all the stupidly broken DLC came out though)
Enel: So, I’m not saying it’s all about Kaiser Zone......but it’s all about Kaiser Zone.
Kaiser Zone is such an S Tier name, even before you get to see the effects.
I think dagas has one of the best designs on xc2
Having a god awful day so thanks for the video!
How to use Dagas?
Put him on a driver as the only blade. Done.
Dagas: "Why would you need any other blade but me?"
Even better idea: Dagas on Zeke solo 😏
500 hp probably isn't going to be that game changing for the most part, he isn't likely to take aggro.
@@EnelXC I see, that makes sense. The crit damage likely helps for slightly better time consistency in challenge modes on the rare occasion he's pulled out for a chain attack or something. Thanks for the response, Enel, was very helpful :)
Pre-quest Dagas blade guide when? ; )
I want to see that boy hit damage cap!
The King is here!
When I see dagas on zeke I always think of that video where zeke says welcome to smash town, population your face
Mythra's Photon Edge with Dagas' AOE ⬆️
😳
Finaly the king him self! Make a way for Dagas!!
Can you do a guide on exactly what you want on your common blades? I see the common blades you have equipped with Dagas, but I don’t know why
They're just stat mods lol
@@EnelXC orb mastery, slamdown, Fusion Combo; crit damage + max affinity attack; right?
My man!!! Finally
I love Dagas, just throw him in another party and profits all around!
Kaiser zone seems super useful. I've been playing on BoC mode and so I'm always trying to figure out how to stay alive but do damage. What would be the best way to keep up kaiser zone with a.i partners?
I legit thought Enel already did a Dagas video
A true King
Galactic Strike will hit all the clones with Dagas, something unthinkable with Patroka
or Adenine though.
I don't know how to bug the ghost factory skill, but it happened to me. I was able to kill the level 60 elma in 40 minutes lol
THANK YOU ❤️❤️❤️
My favorite blade
What do you mean his level 1 special sucks? That's the most powerful walk in the game right there.
imagine if floren was the king and dagas was the small kid who has a bitball, then zeke could spam kaiser zone PULVERIZING PULVERIZING
I got dagas on Nia and I wanted to use him on Zeke. I only stared at the screen. At least I got him lol
