Cressidus is not only an absolute unit, but he also has the same English voice actor as Perceval (Kerry Shale). The dissonance between the two roles is a bit funny when you think about it. Even if they're both tanks.
I have a theory that some blades with Nopon Wisdom (except Fiora for obvious reasons) might have originally been the Blades of the very rare Nopon Drivers. Kasandra is the most obvious case since the Nopon that gives you the intel about her mentioned that her Driver was a Nopon. There are some Blades that make sense if they were originally awakened by a Nopon like Boreas for example because of his shape, personality and his love for Mushrooms. I like to think that Cressidus is one of those (we don't know if Cressidus was originally awakened as Mikhail's Blade and he most likely wasn't because Torna gathered many Core Crystals so they easily could have just stolen Cressidus' Core somewhere), he has Nopon Wisdom and it would be hilarious to think that a Nopon could have wielded those HUGE gauntlets in battle.
I mean, Tora's like 10 years old and uses a slightly smaller version of the weapon class with Poppi QT. I don't think it would be TOO far fetched to imagine an adult Nopon using Cressidus-sized gauntlets considering how drivers in canon gain superhuman strength/speed/endurance/durability after resonating. Plus if Newt is any indicator, the size of a blade's weapon can change to better fit the user.
@@anthonyk3952 I had forgotten about Newt's weapon getting bigger when she uses it and shrinking when her Driver is using it. Cressidus in my opinion is by far the most underrated blade in the entire game. His biggest flaw is that he's completely useless on anyone other than Zeke, but if he is on Zeke he's an absolute powerhouse. Senton is a great skill that makes him fun to play with, and stacking his increased level 4 damage on top of that means that if you play him optimally - which isn't difficult - means that your going to be consistently hitting like a train. Utility wise he's definitely my second favourite in the game.
When I see Enel's *true* thumbnails, I immediately wants to check the video, because it leaves he wanted to have it out so much he could not wait for the official one to drop
Now I'm interested building a Driver around Cressidus and Ursula with them equipping a World Tree Drop, Overclocking Bangle & a Fast Blade Switch VI or two. It might not be the most practical, but playing as a [Royal / Holy] Knight whose is gimmick is continually swapping between guaranteed damage and a decent-ish group heal would certainly make for a memorable experience.
Interesting how much better Cressidus is than first assumed, and the good synergy of his different abilities a nice contrast to earlier Blades we've seen, that had a better collection of individual abilities that just didn't synergize well with each other or the available Specials.
I still love how when he was first released, there were a couple of posts where they synced "You can't see me" with his blade intro, and it was pretty good.
