Also disturbingly on a related note, it's revealed Plutia had a hidden sadist side to her like Iris Heart. She just makes it more obvious as Iris Heart.
Most of the CPU Candidates don't change much in personality. But, certain personality aspects are Intensified when transform. Like how Nepgear becomes more Determined and has less doubts in herself. Note: in the anime that's actually what was causing Nepgear to not have the ability to transform. She doubted she could have as much power as Neptune.
I have finished the rebirth 1-2-3 and VII in the last 3 months and honestly, knowing the tragedy of the Sega Dreamcast, Uzume and Umio's story outshined all other characters imho. Neptune and all others are fine but how reflective of Uzume and Umio's story to Dreamcast and Dreamcast fans is legendary.
Fun fact: Rebirth 1 being a Remake of HDN1 with story Alterations. Is actually not canon to the Hyper Dimension. But takes place in the Super Dimension. The reason this was changed, is because the true ending of Rebirth 1 and The original game that game's Neptune, Blanc, Noire and Vert all quit their powers.
Neptune is my favorite Neptunia character. In order to understand Neptune I think it's important to take both her human form and her HDD form into consideration. Neptune as a character is naturally friendly and energetic which is clearly encapsulated by her human form, however she also has a more serious side to her personality which doesn't come out too often. The best way I can describe Neptune is: her human form is a energetic and bubbly girl with a hidden seriousness that she doesn't know how to express but when she transforms into Purple Heart her personality does a sort of reversal and Neptune becomes a more serious person who isn't afraid to lay down the law but still has a silly side. Rebirth 1 does a great job to show Neptune's more silly and friendly side to her personality while Rebirth 2's conquest ending shows Neptune being serious even without needing to transform just because the situation got SO bad that even she couldn't pretend to be cheerful. Neptune usually doesn't much care for responsibilities such as running her nation, however when it comes to loved ones and people's safety she is willing to do whatever it takes to protect others even at the expense of her life if necessary.
One of the biggest issues with Victory/Rebirth 3 is that for some reason a lot of the script was changed when translation/localisation was done. Neptune says a lot less frivolous and nasty stuff in Japanese compared to English, instead her tone is what conveys her meaning and playfulness. And the light hearted writing for V/3 was really odd given how dang dark that game was at points. Heck, it was the first game to make me feel genuine anger at a character's actions, Mr. Badd deserved much worse than he got. Looking forward to part 2, VII I think really fleshed Nep out, especially some of the later scenes. Dang game made me cry when I got the normal ending, Neptune's sorrowful wail was just what I needed to push me over the edge as I realised Uzume was gone.
6:30 funny enough that was my though of Neptune at the time when I was finally playing the games instead of watching let’s plays of the series, though it had to do with a (very dark) mindset I had at the time and after a while and looking into her more and understanding her more…. It was just like looking at a mirror, fast forward Neptune has forever been my favorite and one I’d unironically call my Waifu XD
Neptune wasnt the only one misshandeld in Victory. I genuenly think the Ultra Dimension Counterparts are some of the worst members of Neptunias cast, ESPECLEY Ultra Noire, who comes across as a total selfish bitch, wich is in stark contrast to the extremly Selfless Hyper Noire. I basicley never get the impression any of the Ultra CPUs are friends and the only reason they arent at war with each other is there mutual fear of Iris Heart.
Shes my favorite female character ever so... I do consider little Nep and Purple Heart to be the exact same girl tho. I streight up think Neptunes faking having such a drastic personality change when transforming. Purple Heart you see is the heart of the purple girl, its who Neptune wishes she would be, a paradigm of virtue, unbeatable and skilled in everything, always relyable and hard working to be the perfect ruler of her people. But thats just not who she is, keeping up the ACT is tiring so she cant remain Purple Heart indefinetly. So then she transforms in the little Nep and again ACTS as a little kid, someone whos lazy to a fault and thus cant be expected to work and everyone should just accept that shes gona spend her time hanging out with her friends and playing games and having fun. I think Neptune is the most mature of all the godesses, she doesnt care about the little things which dont matter in the grand scheme of things (the queen shouldnt do paperwork thats for the lower administrators, the leader should set a direction and inspire other people to do their part), she instead does what she wants to and lives life hapily (I think this is why she so often drags Noire away from her work, cos Neptune understands that Noire doesnt actually like working so much but cant help herself from over micromanaging her realm even tho shed be happyer to hand out with her friends more often), but when things get serious she will always do her best and will temporeraly be what everyone wants her to be. Notice how Planeptune runs smoothly despite Neptune spending most of her time just chilling, she understands her roll, she understands herself, and she has a proper work life balance even if warding off Histy requires faking a personality split so she wouldnt ask too much when Neptune thinks that now is goofing arround time rather than being serious time. Obviously this does not apply to the Rebirth1 Neptune which has amnesia.
I personally see the Neptune and Purple Heart personally switch completely oppositely. To me something similar to the events of super dimension took place in the Hyper dimension. And it was these events that caused Purple Heart to adopt her Neptune personality to keep her competitiveness and ambition in check to prevent the console war from becoming a outright war again. I also personally belief Purple Hearts personality left her incredibly isolated and lonely as she came across intimidating and infallible to her people so nobody had the opportunity to get close to her. Her Neptune personality made making friends and connection a lot easier so she began preferring that personality but kept her Purple Heart personality in her HDD form for when it was necessary. I also think this is why Neptune teases Noir so much besides finding it entertaining she also wants her friend and rival to open up more to others and not drown herself in her work.
... as a massive Neptunia fan I am embarrassed by how long I was baffled thinking it was randomly called Megadimension Neptunia 7 (with the 7 being in roman numerals, VII) I never once even considered that it would be V 2 (with only the 2 being in roman numerals, despite how confusing that has the chance of being when it's placed right next to a V that's in the same colour and font, albeit in a different size)
Technically it can be interpreted as a 7 because of how many games of the series was out at the time you got HDN1, HDNMk2, HDN Victory, Rebirth 1, rebirth 2, rebirth 3 (That's already 6 games) making VII literally the 7th release Making Cyberdimension Canonically the 8th storyline in the Timeline and Sisters vs Sisters the 9th

@angelicplay3419 I'm not entirely sure how this issue (which I was previously unaware of) is related to the one I had. honestly I think I've spent more time with Neptunia spinoffs than I have with the mainline games. I've even ended up mistaking a couple of spinoffs (most notably Sisters vs Sisters) for mainline entries. I might understand the attachment to mainline games a bit more if it was all one universe where the mainline games always followed the exact same Neptune, or if all the mainline games shared the same gamplay, but the original Hyperdimension Neptunia, and its remake Re;Birth 1, seem to be completely unconnected to the later games, and the gameplay changed quite frequently between them, so I find it rather puzzling that people would place specific extra value on mainline games compared to spinoffs (to be honest, it kinda leaves me puzzled as to what even distinguishes a mainline game from a spinoff. how do people even tell the difference?)

A few days ago in a Disc....forum (Neptunia Server) I read Sisters vs Sisters is now a exception spin-off and it belongs to the mainline games. people won't agree. For me, the focus is simply on having fun.
I wish they bring back the next form and please give us four new next form for the little sister character like Nepgear and uni and rom and ram why they still have they normal CPU form for every game not getting new form

You're making me want to work harder on Neptune Quest 2 now (fan game), and give the Neps some better writing examples. I've been stuck on Chapter 2 for what feels like 3 years now.
Neptune and the franchise asna whole is in my opinion a good example of how good character writing elevates a series. Like I'm not saying they have the best plot or character development. They don't. But in my opinion neptune and her friends are just really likeable characters who are interesting and funny to watch beyond just being eye candy.
I would never dismiss my favorite character in the Neptunia series! I always thought she was well written. Neptune isn't just meta. She's a very kind and caring person. Look at her relationship with her sister. She does push her work onto Nepgear, but she's always building Nepgear up. Tells her she's cute, popular with boys and way smarter than she is. I'll stop there, but I could go on and on about Neptune. She's awesome and I love her!
I personally *Loved* Mk2 (or Sisters Generation, that's the version I played) purely because of that one absolutely devastating ending. I always like to get the "worst" endings first in games so that I can leave that game's universe on a positive note with the Best ending, so when I heard about a super bad one, I jumped on it. It was amazing. I loved how every single morsel of doo doo hit the fan and the ramifications of it all. Each "moment" (not gonna spoil it) was heart wrenching, in a good way. It showed to me that the writers weren't afraid to get truly, emotionally dark. Suffice it to say I remember immediately hopping back in after the credits and marathoning it to the good ending. As for the main topic (Pudding Girl), I remember starting Victory (V Generation for me) and getting whiplash from how not serious it was at all. It felt like the writers greatly over-compensated. I also remember the constant put-downs Nepgear had to endure, which made me think "Did people not like Sisters Generation so much the writers felt they should beat up on Nepgear?" It was weird to say the least, and I barely remember much else about that particular Neptunia game.
Absolutely. Even if she contributes nothing and thus I have to pay for her everything from food to all other bills, Id still love to have her arround cos shes an absolute ball of positivity I could never be depressed arround as she would always chear me up and indeed be fun to play games with.
Yeah, Nep would be a cool room mate. We could just hang out, joke around and be lazy together. Don't know about the games part, because I mostly play single player RPGs and that's how I know about her and the others in the first place. But we could meet all of her friends and maybe get Vert to recommend a good MMO we could all play together. I wonder how all of them would be, if they were in our world.
@@skyknight0408 I wonder what Neptune would think about Dota2, being the anpromophization of a gaming console shes a gamer girl through and through, but mobas require dedication to not be destroyed by an item or ability youve never seen before, then again I think shed enjoy trying out a new game where everything is new and interesting with me being able to explain anything she wants me to. I dont really know what my styles are. Im currently playing the Forged in Fire campagne for Heroes of Might and Magic 3, we could play a random map as allies there if she got borded with the speed of the intense real time game and could just admire the beautiful pixels of the turn based game. If all of them where real Id do my best to try to get Noire to be my girlfriend. Neptune is my favorite but if she has no magic powers and thus is the age she apears Id rather take my second choice which is roughly my age.
Not canon to the Hyper Dimension though That's the SUPER Dimension version of her where she Canonically quits being a CPU Yeah, the True ending of HDN1 and even rebirth 1 has all four main Goddesses retire themselves. It happens in the original game specifically because they originally never planned to make a series. But it got popular enough that they were like "Oh crap, we gotta make another one !! But, how do we use the characters from the original ? ..... Uh.... How about we retcon the world of the first game into being it's own separate Dimension and continue the series starting with the second game. We'll call it Mark 2" The Mk part of the title is supposed to insinuate "Version 2" than they continue the story in THAT games Dimension
@shelbybayer200 You basically explained what every fan of the franchise knows, however it's not that the first game isn't canon it just takes place in super dimension and it just never made any connection to the hyper dimension so if we take into account that every Neptune is Neptune then in my opinion the super dimension nep is the best written. The first game showed her development perfectly even giving her the best ending in the later games except vii it seems they didn't know what to do with her and they either make her a background character or a straight comic relief.

@@shelbybayer200 No, it's only in the original game. None ot them retire in RB 1! Instead the True Ending of that game lets Neptune return with a reborn good Arfoire. So that version is a constantly existing alternate dimension where the Goddesses still rule over Gamindustry and has the potential for more games within that dimension!
Personally - before watching the video - I believe Neptunia in 1 is awesome. But after 1 they had no idea what to do with her, and unfortunately 2 flopped a bit, and the Sister generation was unfairly blamed for it. So now we are stuck with a caricature of Neptunia as the games try to recreate what they think worked in 1 and they are, way, way off. And I really do not even know what are they thinking. "Hey let's add the antagonist from 1 as a callback to the players that enjoyed the first game. Also let's make Nep be completely unaware and not remember that story we are referencing, that will make players like Neputnia for sure "
I think the task of comparing and contrasting Neptune and Purple Heart's characters is interesting. I sometimes found myself wondering: "If Neptune transformed right now, would she disagree with what she just said/did?"
Actually they're not really trying to separate Neptune from Purple Heart Human Neptune's personality is a Fabricated Personality she created to keep people at ease. While her true self is a Gaurdian The HDD form is actually been referenced several times to be based on what is in the Heart of a Goddess. Noire; Shows more Confidence as Black Heart when she's more Socially Inept as her Human self. Black Heart is there for an instance of the Goddess trying to have a personality that will Protect their people. For instance, the HDD is the part of them they Keep for Battle mainly because it puts a Mental strain on them to keep up that Personality. Neptune; Acts stupid but she actually isn't at all. Her actual intelligence is shown when she's either using her "Purple Heart" personality in Human form or when she's actually Transformed. Note: in the anime, There is a scene where Neptune lands still in the form of Purple Heart but she SPEAKS as Neptune before even reverting.
I don't disagree. Neptune is not waifu material the way that the others are, but in the "would I like to drink a beer with this character?" or "would I like to do a sketch comedy act with this character reflected in a mirror?" she shines. As does the series as a whole, even in the rough spots.
Neptune/Purple Heart is my waifu, has been for over a year now. In all my years of having affections for fictional characters shes the most attractive by far.
My view of Purple Heart is that she acually is a lot more like Neptune then poeple think. Ore more precise, Neptune could act like Purple Heart, she just delibertly chooses not to, after all Neptune is copying Purple Hearts personality in the prologue of Rebirth 3 the entire time without issue, so I do think there a lot more alike then poeple think. Neptune just delibertly keeps her serious side reserved fore her HDD when it is genuenly needed fore her to be serious.

While yes, she is MEANT to act more cheerful and lighthearted, especially in Victory, the writers ended up skewing too far in the other direction when making the game. It's how we ended up with Neptune acting the way she does in Victory. I wouldn't mind it so much if not for the fact that Neptune's negative traits in Victory were present in pretty much every part of the game. Glad you liked it, though; Part 2 is being worked on as we speak!
That's a huge Misconception The series just doesn't have much to work for ideas. There are only so many Consoles and Companies to reference in their characters. They have to use Inspiration from the REAL WORLD Game Industry to add story bits & Lore to Gamindustri. Sisters vs Sisters literally works as a continuation from the main timeline of events after Megadimension, because it references Victory/Rebirth 3 events and mentions Uzume and Plutia. And most importantly the new character they introduced in Sisters vs Sisters Maho/Grey Sister is literally the latest thing in history to happen for the Game Industry Mobile Phone gaming reaching mainstream Gaming Industry.

It's japanese pudding, not flan. Pudding, flan, custard will be different and mean different things in many part of the world. Just like dumplings, variations of them exist all around the world, but each culture has their own spin on idea of "dough with filling inside".
Gotta watch the second part yet since this got recommended randomly to me. But I'll say it now, the writing of the characters has nosedived with each entry, and I say it as someone that has been a fan for more than a decade already. The best written character in the whole series I'd argue is Noire in the first game, and ONLY the first game, same goes with almost every other member of the godesses. After that, they have been getting progressively flatter in terms of writing, to a point that in the latest iterations they are just a shell that acts the most mainstream (it's not the word that I'm searching but english is not my primary language) trait of their character archetype. In some ways, is something akin to Rebuild of Eva 2, where the story was suppossed to be a representation of how the fans described it after years instead of the original tone. Watching Neptune in some spin-offs be relegated to a character that only says "I'm the protagonits!, Pudding! Arboire" and nothing less coming from Superdimension's dimension Neptune makes it more obvious. Same with Noire, now just being a joke friendless tsundere after her amazing character arc in 1. And yes, I know I'm talking about their Superdimension versions and no the Hyperdimension version that represent most of the games, but maybe that's a good reason to already ditch that dimension and start from scratch.
Video titles like this one always give me a giggle as they assume that the audience starts off with a negative opinion by default. If the writing of the series starting with the second game were not actually good (at least in some spots), the series would have failed before it got started.
I never cared to look at or play Hyperdevotion Noire, so I can't really comment on how Neptune acts there. But either way, the main focus of the video was on *canon* Neptune, not Neptune from any of the alt. universe spin-offs.
That game she's mainly upset that she isn't the Protagonist there. She was fine with Nepgear being protagonist specifically because she was literally BORN to be the Secondary Protagonist after Neptune herself. I mean NEP is literally in their names. Neptune even says in the opening Cinematic of Hyperdevotion is "I blame the writers.... For not making me the lead" She's literally JEALOUS that Noire is the main character there. Neptune is a Primary case of "Main Character Syndrome" in that game. She thinks she should be the protagonist not Noire.

I don't really like heroes at all but I particularly dislike Nepsy because she consistently shows she's clueless and just not very intelligent overall. Having a hero that is both stupid and oblivious just doesn't do it for me, dumb and obvious are not what I'd call heroic traits. She also frequently compromises the positions of the rest of the characters and undoubtedly worsens their situations which I can't get behind being a sensible trait for one of the main protagonists of the series. It didn't come across to me as a useful plot device it just came across as being downright stupid on the part of the writers. I can't hate her for how she in in rebirth 3 or victory since both of those are basically the convention where all the idiots of gamindusri for some reason take the front and centre of the stage. Sadly though nobody in the Neptunia series has been getting very good anything as of late. Spinoffs are simp bait and have undoubtedly damaged the community and consequently people's interest in the series and nothing new in the mainline has released for nearly a decade. She undergoes some kind of improvement in VII with the way she behaves and her general attitude towards being a leader/hero but in all fairness the opposition is also several octaves above what it was previously so for me it is more just a case of the bare minimum to ensure her actually being a main character still makes some sense in the story, she has afterall got to win somehow and she's not going to be able to do that in sensible of rational storyline if she continues the way she is from the previous games. There are no character debates anymore because every ****** where is filled with horndogs and that isn't helped by the fact the whole series has pretty much been left to stagnate.

I think Neptune is the most mature of all the godesses, she doesnt care about the little things which dont matter in the grand scheme of things (the queen shouldnt do paperwork thats for the lower administrators, the leader should set a direction and inspire other people to do their part), she instead does what she wants to and lives life hapily (I think this is why she so often drags Noire away from her work, cos Neptune understands that Noire doesnt actually like working so much but cant help herself from over micromanaging her realm even tho shed be happyer to hand out with her friends more often), but when things get serious she will always do her best and will temporeraly be what everyone wants her to be. Notice how Planeptune runs smoothly despite Neptune spending most of her time just chilling, she understands her roll, she understands herself, and she has a proper work life balance even if warding off Histy requires faking a personality split so she wouldnt ask too much when Neptune thinks that now is goofing arround time rather than being serious time.
Obviously this does not apply to the Rebirth1 Neptune which has amnesia.
I personally see the Neptune and Purple Heart personally switch completely oppositely. To me something similar to the events of super dimension took place in the Hyper dimension. And it was these events that caused Purple Heart to adopt her Neptune personality to keep her competitiveness and ambition in check to prevent the console war from becoming a outright war again. I also personally belief Purple Hearts personality left her incredibly isolated and lonely as she came across intimidating and infallible to her people so nobody had the opportunity to get close to her. Her Neptune personality made making friends and connection a lot easier so she began preferring that personality but kept her Purple Heart personality in her HDD form for when it was necessary. I also think this is why Neptune teases Noir so much besides finding it entertaining she also wants her friend and rival to open up more to others and not drown herself in her work.

as a massive Neptunia fan I am embarrassed by how long I was baffled thinking it was randomly called Megadimension Neptunia 7 (with the 7 being in roman numerals, VII)
I never once even considered that it would be V 2 (with only the 2 being in roman numerals, despite how confusing that has the chance of being when it's placed right next to a V that's in the same colour and font, albeit in a different size)

honestly I think I've spent more time with Neptunia spinoffs than I have with the mainline games. I've even ended up mistaking a couple of spinoffs (most notably Sisters vs Sisters) for mainline entries.
I might understand the attachment to mainline games a bit more if it was all one universe where the mainline games always followed the exact same Neptune, or if all the mainline games shared the same gamplay, but the original Hyperdimension Neptunia, and its remake Re;Birth 1, seem to be completely unconnected to the later games, and the gameplay changed quite frequently between them, so I find it rather puzzling that people would place specific extra value on mainline games compared to spinoffs (to be honest, it kinda leaves me puzzled as to what even distinguishes a mainline game from a spinoff. how do people even tell the difference?)

I also noticed Neptunia Sisters vs sisters was counted as a spin-off without connection to the mainline. A few days ago in a Disc....forum (Neptunia Server) I read Sisters vs Sisters is now a exception spin-off and it belongs to the mainline games.

Neptune and the franchise asna whole is in my opinion a good example of how good character writing elevates a series.
Like I'm not saying they have the best plot or character development. They don't.
But in my opinion neptune and her friends are just really likeable characters who are interesting and funny to watch beyond just being eye candy.
I would never dismiss my favorite character in the Neptunia series! I always thought she was well written. Neptune isn't just meta. She's a very kind and caring person. Look at her relationship with her sister. She does push her work onto Nepgear, but she's always building Nepgear up. Tells her she's cute, popular with boys and way smarter than she is. I'll stop there, but I could go on and on about Neptune. She's awesome and I love her!

I personally *Loved* Mk2 (or Sisters Generation, that's the version I played) purely because of that one absolutely devastating ending. I always like to get the "worst" endings first in games so that I can leave that game's universe on a positive note with the Best ending, so when I heard about a super bad one, I jumped on it. It was amazing. I loved how every single morsel of doo doo hit the fan and the ramifications of it all. Each "moment" (not gonna spoil it) was heart wrenching, in a good way. It showed to me that the writers weren't afraid to get truly, emotionally dark. Suffice it to say I remember immediately hopping back in after the credits and marathoning it to the good ending.
As for the main topic (Pudding Girl), I remember starting Victory (V Generation for me) and getting whiplash from how not serious it was at all. It felt like the writers greatly over-compensated. I also remember the constant put-downs Nepgear had to endure, which made me think "Did people not like Sisters Generation so much the writers felt they should beat up on Nepgear?" It was weird to say the least, and I barely remember much else about that particular Neptunia game.

Absolutely. Even if she contributes nothing and thus I have to pay for her everything from food to all other bills, Id still love to have her arround cos shes an absolute ball of positivity I could never be depressed arround as she would always chear me up and indeed be fun to play games with.
Yeah, Nep would be a cool room mate. We could just hang out, joke around and be lazy together. Don't know about the games part, because I mostly play single player RPGs and that's how I know about her and the others in the first place. But we could meet all of her friends and maybe get Vert to recommend a good MMO we could all play together. I wonder how all of them would be, if they were in our world.

I dont really know what my styles are. Im currently playing the Forged in Fire campagne for Heroes of Might and Magic 3, we could play a random map as allies there if she got borded with the speed of the intense real time game and could just admire the beautiful pixels of the turn based game.
If all of them where real Id do my best to try to get Noire to be my girlfriend. Neptune is my favorite but if she has no magic powers and thus is the age she apears Id rather take my second choice which is roughly my age.

Yeah, the True ending of HDN1 and even rebirth 1 has all four main Goddesses retire themselves.
It happens in the original game specifically because they originally never planned to make a series. But it got popular enough that they were like
"Oh crap, we gotta make another one !! But, how do we use the characters from the original ? ..... Uh.... How about we retcon the world of the first game into being it's own separate Dimension and continue the series starting with the second game. We'll call it Mark 2"
The Mk part of the title is supposed to insinuate "Version 2" than they continue the story in THAT games Dimension
@shelbybayer200 You basically explained what every fan of the franchise knows, however it's not that the first game isn't canon it just takes place in super dimension and it just never made any connection to the hyper dimension so if we take into account that every Neptune is Neptune then in my opinion the super dimension nep is the best written. The first game showed her development perfectly even giving her the best ending in the later games except vii it seems they didn't know what to do with her and they either make her a background character or a straight comic relief.

@@shelbybayer200 No, it's only in the original game. None ot them retire in RB 1! Instead the True Ending of that game lets Neptune return with a reborn good Arfoire. So that version is a constantly existing alternate dimension where the Goddesses still rule over Gamindustry and has the potential for more games within that dimension!
Personally - before watching the video - I believe Neptunia in 1 is awesome. But after 1 they had no idea what to do with her, and unfortunately 2 flopped a bit, and the Sister generation was unfairly blamed for it. So now we are stuck with a caricature of Neptunia as the games try to recreate what they think worked in 1 and they are, way, way off. And I really do not even know what are they thinking. "Hey let's add the antagonist from 1 as a callback to the players that enjoyed the first game. Also let's make Nep be completely unaware and not remember that story we are referencing, that will make players like Neputnia for sure "

The HDD form is actually been referenced several times to be based on what is in the Heart of a Goddess.
Noire; Shows more Confidence as Black Heart when she's more Socially Inept as her Human self. Black Heart is there for an instance of the Goddess trying to have a personality that will Protect their people.
For instance, the HDD is the part of them they Keep for Battle mainly because it puts a Mental strain on them to keep up that Personality.
Neptune; Acts stupid but she actually isn't at all. Her actual intelligence is shown when she's either using her "Purple Heart" personality in Human form or when she's actually Transformed.
Note: in the anime, There is a scene where Neptune lands still in the form of Purple Heart but she SPEAKS as Neptune before even reverting.

I don't disagree. Neptune is not waifu material the way that the others are, but in the "would I like to drink a beer with this character?" or "would I like to do a sketch comedy act with this character reflected in a mirror?" she shines. As does the series as a whole, even in the rough spots.
Neptune/Purple Heart is my waifu, has been for over a year now. In all my years of having affections for fictional characters shes the most attractive by far.
My view of Purple Heart is that she acually is a lot more like Neptune then poeple think. Ore more precise, Neptune could act like Purple Heart, she just delibertly chooses not to, after all Neptune is copying Purple Hearts personality in the prologue of Rebirth 3 the entire time without issue, so I do think there a lot more alike then poeple think. Neptune just delibertly keeps her serious side reserved fore her HDD when it is genuenly needed fore her to be serious.
I technically agreed on the first one but the second one where you mentioned about Neptune's character development in Victory/Rebirth 3 lacks a lot for her. Isn't she supposed to be cheerful or funny unlike mosts of the characters cuz that's what i find it disappointing.

While yes, she is MEANT to act more cheerful and lighthearted, especially in Victory, the writers ended up skewing too far in the other direction when making the game. It's how we ended up with Neptune acting the way she does in Victory.
I wouldn't mind it so much if not for the fact that Neptune's negative traits in Victory were present in pretty much every part of the game.

This franchise has severely stagnated. There are no new entries in the mainline for a long time and the spin-off aren't doing exactly great.

There are only so many Consoles and Companies to reference in their characters.
They have to use Inspiration from the REAL WORLD Game Industry to add story bits & Lore to Gamindustri.
Sisters vs Sisters literally works as a continuation from the main timeline of events after Megadimension, because it references Victory/Rebirth 3 events and mentions Uzume and Plutia.
And most importantly the new character they introduced in Sisters vs Sisters Maho/Grey Sister is literally the latest thing in history to happen for the Game Industry Mobile Phone gaming reaching mainstream Gaming Industry.

It's japanese pudding, not flan. Pudding, flan, custard will be different and mean different things in many part of the world. Just like dumplings, variations of them exist all around the world, but each culture has their own spin on idea of "dough with filling inside".

But I'll say it now, the writing of the characters has nosedived with each entry, and I say it as someone that has been a fan for more than a decade already.
The best written character in the whole series I'd argue is Noire in the first game, and ONLY the first game, same goes with almost every other member of the godesses. After that, they have been getting progressively flatter in terms of writing, to a point that in the latest iterations they are just a shell that acts the most mainstream (it's not the word that I'm searching but english is not my primary language) trait of their character archetype. In some ways, is something akin to Rebuild of Eva 2, where the story was suppossed to be a representation of how the fans described it after years instead of the original tone.
Watching Neptune in some spin-offs be relegated to a character that only says "I'm the protagonits!, Pudding! Arboire" and nothing less coming from Superdimension's dimension Neptune makes it more obvious. Same with Noire, now just being a joke friendless tsundere after her amazing character arc in 1.
And yes, I know I'm talking about their Superdimension versions and no the Hyperdimension version that represent most of the games, but maybe that's a good reason to already ditch that dimension and start from scratch.

But either way, the main focus of the video was on *canon* Neptune, not Neptune from any of the alt. universe spin-offs.

She was fine with Nepgear being protagonist specifically because she was literally BORN to be the Secondary Protagonist after Neptune herself.

I don't really like heroes at all but I particularly dislike Nepsy because she consistently shows she's clueless and just not very intelligent overall. Having a hero that is both stupid and oblivious just doesn't do it for me, dumb and obvious are not what I'd call heroic traits. She also frequently compromises the positions of the rest of the characters and undoubtedly worsens their situations which I can't get behind being a sensible trait for one of the main protagonists of the series. It didn't come across to me as a useful plot device it just came across as being downright stupid on the part of the writers. I can't hate her for how she in in rebirth 3 or victory since both of those are basically the convention where all the idiots of gamindusri for some reason take the front and centre of the stage. Sadly though nobody in the Neptunia series has been getting very good anything as of late. Spinoffs are simp bait and have undoubtedly damaged the community and consequently people's interest in the series and nothing new in the mainline has released for nearly a decade. She undergoes some kind of improvement in VII with the way she behaves and her general attitude towards being a leader/hero but in all fairness the opposition is also several octaves above what it was previously so for me it is more just a case of the bare minimum to ensure her actually being a main character still makes some sense in the story, she has afterall got to win somehow and she's not going to be able to do that in sensible of rational storyline if she continues the way she is from the previous games. There are no character debates anymore because every ****** where is filled with horndogs and that isn't helped by the fact the whole series has pretty much been left to stagnate.
