At this point Tyranotitan should have its model be replaced with Sandbag from smash considering how many times we beat the crap out of him with busted builds lol.
You know why Sever is so deadly from behind, right? It's because he's a freakin' xenomorph from Alien.
“Sever, you’re a tank class blade, but you’re so strong!”
“I’m a tank class blade for the firepower kid.”
That would've been a funny post battle dialogue.
When I got Server I had to replay the game to realize that Malos is actually your first Tank party member.
It's interesting that Malos was a Tank when he had Sever given his destructive nature but now it makes more sense since I realize that Sever is a more Offensive Tank.
This is it. Sever is my favourite blade in the entire game. I cannot explain how insanely fun this guy is to use, namely on Morag. The fact that he can just ignore any and all enemy defence means he's going to be hitting really hard constantly, meaning he's really good at drawing aggro even without any aggro drawing blade arts or skills. His biggest flaw is Heartless Kill being borderline useless in most circumstances and having no additional effect on Death Match or Deadly Divide, but they honestly just don't matter when he's consistently hitting like a train. I also adore his design and personality, and I really really love the design of his weapon. I really wish he was obtainable outside of NG+.
They shouldn't have killed the blades of Torna. Meaning like, Sever and Perdido and stuff. Wtf was Mythra doing specifically aiming for their core crystals anyway, wtf? Is it somehow more ethical to murder the blades who are really just being coerced into this than killing the drivers? Maybe they could've made Haze/Fan have some ability to return blades to their cores, and used that so you could get them, rather than Siren blowing them up.
I wish all Torna blades and especially this guy had more screentime to see them interact with their former Drivers and have some character development
Yeah they were way too interesting for how little use they got. Wonder how Jin's relationship with them was because while he is a blade rights activist, he also believe that they never should have been awakened by Torna's members.
They should have saved getting killed off for a Jin betrayal of some kind. It’d be more in character for Jin to break their crystals than Mythra.
I like how they made Sever close friends with the other NG+ tank Knuckle Claw clone, Cressidus. Despite them never being shown working together in the main story. It's a small thing since most of the NG+ blades feel tacked-on rather than fully implemented like the DLC blades (I mean when it comes to party dialogue).
Being my favorite blade, the funniest thing about Sever is how much he clearly cares about his driver and fellow blades, but how hard he continues to try and hide it. I kinda wish we could have seen his characterization in the main story, but Mythra has to be a hard ass and shatter their core crystals... An insane amount of potential sent straight down the drain.

@@sebasthiannunez7880 Malos was nerfed for a good chunk of the game - he seemed to require great effort to tap into his destructive powers before he fixed that issue
The localisation team must have known what they were doing when translating "Nullify Defense" and "Armour Piercing." They had plenty of time to fix or review it, but trolling us with such a minor detail must have been funny for them.
You probably lost your affinity thread in that chain attack because Ken was toppled, and when your drivers and blades moved for the chain attack, they moved in such a way that a tentacle of his was between Rex and Sever or something. That's happened to me before too many times.
To quote a comment I saw on the 'net about Sever: "Looks like a Xenomorph, sounds like Metal Face."

The skill trees are notorious for erroneous translations that the team could care less about unless the misunderstanding is NSFW

Sever is my favorite Torna blade in the game! The names of “Nullify Defense” & “Armor Piercing” are a bit odd for the effects they give, however, you do get each in the end, but nonetheless, he is a great blade overall
He seems to be better than I originally gave him credit for. I thought he was rather meh along with Cressidus. If I were to make him better, I would give Heartless Kill a 20% chance for an attack to become a surprise attack, but only get a 200% damage boost. Death Match would instead have 3 points added to the party gauge for each hits (stacks with critical hits and other party gauge boosts). I would also give him an extra 15% crit rate and an extra 20% block rate.
P.s. I think I might go back and give my thoughts on other Blades and what I would do to improve them.
I've never really used Sever, but his special names have been engraved in my mind from playing though chapter 1, and doing the chapter 3 Makhos fight :)

My favourite blade in the game. Also the only blade used by an Aegis and non flesh-eating blade. I do wonder if Malos was the first one to awaken him; if so some of Sever's personality may be implied to stem from Malos.
Love him. Great design, fun abilities, and just kinda cool above all else. I just kinda wish he was expanded upon in the story a little more. I mean, he's the blade of a god damn Aegis. Surely that must mean *something.* Oh well. All things considered, I still do like him a lot.
Mirrors how malos treats him after death: silent, doesn't seem to care, he was a tool. A snarky tool, but a tool. As soon as the tool breaks big tough malos leaves _quick._
@@ShadowSkyX I moreso meant in the sense of how Blades work. Does Sever have any special abilities because he was awakened by an "administrator" of Blades? Do his emotions also reflect Amalthus's because Malos's were and Sever was awakened by Malos? Or are his further away from Amalthus because he was awakened by Malos who, at the time, was trying to feel things for himself and trying to get away from feeling dictated by Amalthus? I just wish we had an answer to some of these questions.

I checked the Chinese version of Server's skills. So there's no mistake putting the description and the name. It's just that, in Chinese version, in Armor Piercing, "annul defense" is translated more like "annul the defense points", or "ignore the defense points". As for Nullify Defense, it's more like "the action of defense/blocking".

I love how it seems like Sever concept is ninja assassin thing. Having fast specials with knife-tonfa thing and the surprise attack increase and a name like that, he is built to be one-shot kill guy, lol.

"Doesn't have any multipliers" Technically true against enemies with 0% damage resistances/block rate, but against enemies with them, especially ones on the higher end like challenge CSKK (30% both) in which he functionally has a 43% Multiplicative increase, which is alluded to during the video.

Sever was my first Torna blade, and I got him really early too. I think I used him right up until the Makhos fight and then started messing around with more blades.

I like sever as a blade, even though I don’t use him often. The only thing that kinda stinks is his level 4 special “Deadly Divide” is honestly kinda weak, especially compared to the level 4 special he had before, ie with Malos: “Deadly Drive”. Really wish we got that instead.
I was trying to get into speedrunning xenoblade 2 but i was having trouble doing the glitches and was wondering if you could make a overall guide to speed running the game

I started a bringer of chaos mode play through today. I was stuck with Sever for a lot longer than I would want to admit
Sever was the Blade I thought was super cool early on and I was hoping somehow I would get him in the party. It looked like that wasn't gonna happen so i was a bit disappointed. After learning you could get him in NG+, getting him was my top priority
Hah! Funnily enough, I just reached NG+ today for the first time and the first Torna Blade I pulled was Sever.
This just makes me wish even more that malos couldve been a dlc or ng+ blade
I always was Sever as a "meh" Blade at best. This guide was pretty insightful

Enel, what would you think of a Xenoblade Chronicles fighting game? If Koei won't ever make Xenoblade Warriors, that would probably the next best way to make a XC spin off covering all 3 games. Given the nature of XC2, it would absolutely have to be a tag team fighter like Blazblue Cross Tag Battle. Or do you not like fighting games and would prefer the Xenoblade Warriors?

Worth pointing out that it's only when the skill tree is maxed out that there is no disctinction.
It's still a bit crap, but there IS a difference when there's say a 50% chance of the hit annuling guard, and then an additional check for the Special on top of it.
Is sever's level 1 really the fastest special? To me, it feels like mikhail's level 2 is the fastest. But then again idk what exactly qualifies the speed of a special.
frame wise it says he is but there's other things that go into speed sometimes like weapon throwing/catching animations
its worth to test the one shot damage by removing the cap

Depends, Sometimes level 2 specials can have better bonus effects for instance
he and Credeusseus are the only non torna new game + blades worth using while on that subject I'm disappointed they don't make Jin/Malos playable in any capacity not even as Torna rewards(I did see a rumor that Malos might come back in Xenoblade 3 in my opinion Jin should stay dead)

Why does the speed of a special matter?
The fusion combo damage bonus only lasts until the driver combo it was applied to either advances or expires. Faster specials means being able to deal more damage before a driver combo expires, especially during chain attacks.
I want the setup for the one shot build... if only I wanted to grind just for that kind of clip
Edit: I just grinded for the build and Territorial Rotbart has more than 1,000,000 hp how did you one-shot it?!
