This year I'm trying something different. I am a novice lawn keeper that barely has enough time to mow the grass. I wanted fewer weeds and more grass for my family. Weed and Feed just didn't seem right to sprinkle everywhere, so I looked at getting some raw ingredients like Nitrogen and Iron, but I have no idea how much I needed and when to put it down.
Then I stumbled across Sunday. It wasn't insanely expensive and seems to be much better than herbicide and pesticide for my family.
Since this video took me almost a month to make, here are some observations so far:
-Dandelions are all gone. That spray is very effective and has not killed any grass. I applied 3 times about a week apart.
- The lawn actually looks browner, but looking closer, it's the clovers and the really wide (crabgrass?) grass that's drying up. The grass is looking a little light-colored but hanging in there.
- I have been watering on Mondays and Thursdays, for about 10 minutes per area using a sprinkler.
- It has been about 65-80F these past few weeks with very little rain. The seeds are only just beginning to germinate 2 weeks after putting them down.
- I haven't thatched or aerated yet. Still new to me and I don't have the tools. I will get to it.
- We mow to keep 2" of grass left. We leave clippings on the lawn to retain nutrients.
- I sent off the soil test without a return address. Crap. I hope they somehow track the package back to my account somehow. Put the address in the return area.
- The stuff doesn't smell at all. All the other chemicals I used to use had odd smells and just didn't seem healthy to have around. This is odorless.
Update 05-AUG-2021: Lawn is growing nicely, but so are the weeds! The new grass put down when overseeding is very green, thick, and luscious. The downside to all these nice nutrients is that the clovers are loving it as well. Video to come soon with an update.

I just started with my yard with Sundays. I had a different sprayer for my dandelion doom. Maybe because my yard was bigger. It did work pretty well, but I overestimated so I would have enough. I’ll let you know how the pet rescue works.
Lov video ordered Sunday and when arrived I was so confused the actual directions are very confessing this video is what is needed here we will follow up thank you
I just ordered mine today! Will definitely be watching your second video.
nice, bought today, and still got the $50 off, and $50 for you, cheers!
That’s awesome! Thanks! 😆
Great video thanks
The question that stands out first is: do you wait until temperature is consistently 60 or more in daytime? Or what? Better to wait until the grass starts coming back because a lot of my grass goes away for the winter but obviously the roots are still there. It seems like they try to take a lot of the guessing out of the equation since there’s so many variables in yard care it can be overwhelming unless you majored in chemistry.
Thanks for the vids. Used your code today
Thanks for watching!! Let us know how it works out for you!
Pot-ash. Love the video
Used your code. 50 for me. 50 for you. My lawn is only 1 year old and needs some serious love. Hope Sunday lawn care helps.
Good luck! I’m going to continue with the second year of treatment to see if the effects continue to improve. If anything it’s a great source of info if read all the info they send you.
I wanted to like Sunday based on the numerous good reviews I read. I bought one of their shaker containers from Lowe's, sprinkled it on some bare spots, covered the seed with straw, and watered the spots every day for the recommend two weeks. Not a single blade of grass grew. Looks like I'll be going back to using Scotts grass seed which actually works.
Yea the seeds take a little effort...just tossing it on top and adding straw wasn't very successful for me either. I took a sharp weeder and poked at the bare spot to loosen up the soil a little, then tossed some seeds on the loose soil and lightly tamped it down with my foot. Then water for a few days and it sprouted right up. This method ensures the seeds are held by the dirt and actually in contact with the water.
Don't use Roundup.
Great Video, I just used your link, hopefully you will get the benefit. I did get the $50 off. Thanks
Thank you! Yes, I did just see an email come in about the referral! I also just used a good portion of the credits to get more of their products to try out and show everyone (a few different seed packs, their bagged weed and total vegetation control, some ant deterrent and other things). It's a shame the garden kits have been sold out for months, wanted to see what all that was about. Anyways, thank you again for watching!
I'm going to give it a shot. My lawn is only 5 years old, but I'm finally getting the Zoysia (imo best for kids) to take over. Curious how they'll deal with it.
Just read up on Zoysia, they seem like the perfect grass for backyards with daily use! Kind of sad they don’t grow well in my region. Did you introduce that to your yard? I wonder if you ordered seeds in your lawn care plan if Sunday will account for atypical existing grass.
@@Jon_Chan we wound up regrading our entire property with 14 trucks of dirt in the back yard so as a consequence we lost all of our established lawn. That old lawn was Zoysia and won me over. After the regrade when my yard was just dirt and at that point I did use pure zoysia seed which is pricey (I recall it costing about $1400 in seed) Unfortunately, I lost a significant amount to rain run off. For established lawns the solution is plugs which sort of migrates your lawn to zoysia over the course of a couple year. In my case once I saw the zoysia spots take hold I seeded the rest of the lawn and established grass everywhere and let the zoysia take the lawn over time and encouraged it where I could.
As for sunday, I think it'll be fine as I've used traditional lawn products without any real downsides to the Zoysia, I just would likely not apply their fescue seed as it's counter to trying to establish the Zoysia. Looking forward to your results and seeing my own.
I got 3 bags from Walmart clearance section. Just checking to see how it does
How did it work out for you?
@@MsEbonyangel the water connection never worked so I bought a 1gallon spray bottle
Will you post updates on your lawn using this product?
Of course! I plan to follow through till end of fall probably
Did you spread the seed throughout the whole yard or just the patchy spots?
I did the patchy spots first then over seeded the whole yard a week or so later. This year I seeded again in the areas that had some thinning due to the winter salt.
honestly your lawn already looks pretty good man...you should see mine.
I was going to say the same thing lol
You have lawn? . I have dirt plain with weeds 🤣
Hey man. How did this turn out? An update would be nice.
It’s actually going fairly well! I’ve been collecting video over the months and will have an update out soon. The past few weeks I’ve been noticing the lawn looking better (greener) than my neighbors so I can finally say it does something.
Do you have an update from this year? Using Sunday?
I am working on one but I think a video will be a couple weeks out. The shipments are still on their way in as I guess application time isn’t quite here yet. I have some of the tools and other add on’s but no spray pouches, sprayer heads or soil test kit yet. It’s shipping differently this year for some reason. I am contemplating on if I should start cutting my grass already though…it’s almost 3-4 inches longer than my neighbors in spots!
Ok my question really is the grass full? Or do u still have bare spots like u did when u look at it from above?
So what are the results after 3 months
Update is coming! Honestly up until mid August it was actually going downhill due to the extreme heat, but the comeback from that heat is quite impressive! There’s apparently a delay on my last shipment from Sunday so I was hoping to include that in the update. I’m curious what the winterizing pouch contains. I’ll post a pic comparing my yard and the neighbors to give you guys a preview of progress.
