Sunday Lawn Care Review - Shipment #2 - Progress Update

- So I got Sunday Lawn Care Shipment #2 in and figured I'd give you a Progress Update/Review. So far this worked out pretty well. If you haven't seen the first box and application, check it out here:

Here are some noticeable changes so far:
Much greener lawn.
Stronger roots and resilience to drought.
New grass is dark green and very soft.
No mushrooms on the lawn.
Other weeds (besides clovers) are mostly gone.
High-traffic areas are no longer dying off.
A few things we did differently this year:
Water the lawn on the dry stretches of summer.
Mow more frequently (twice a week).
Made sure we didn't have clumps of cut grass sitting on the lawn.
Ensure we did not cut too much of the grass (no more than 1/2) off each time we mowed.
Some things that didn't quite work out:
Mosquito Deleto is a no go. Does not repel any mosquitos, it only works to keep them from growing.
Covers are enjoying the nutrient as well, so they are thriving alongside the grass.

The Soil Sample bag was apparently included in the first shipment that I completely missed. Should have opened the packet of papers.
The hose sprayer heads are a bit fragile, so don't store them where a full bottle of mosquito deleto can fall on them, breaking off part of the nozzle.

Just starting the program, I’m hoping for good results.. Good video, glad I paid attention to the soil sample.. Your neighbor needs to pay attention to their lawn for sure.. I’m excited about the program, keeping my fingers crossed…
Those white broadband weeds I have those too (Northeast US) and I manually pull them. I’ve been told that when you mow it and spread the seeds of the weeds and spreads everything making the problem worse. So try to pluck them and see if that stops the spreading. i have just got the first shipment and i have the same clover taking over my lawn problem. Will be trying out the dandelion doom but honestly its a big lawn and I do not think I will be able to kill them. Lets see, hopefully I get good results with the nutrients going into the summer.
Keep your clover for the pollinators. Clover are green and soft to walk on.
I’m actually not on a mission to rid them anymore. Realized how beneficial they are and will just leave them alone. Though they are already less prominent this year due to the grass getting a good head start.
So how are things now? I’m considering doing this and your update makes me consider it. Did you ever send in your soil sample and get results back?

Correct me if I’m wrong but the mosquito Dilido is meant to keep the mosquitoes from coming onto your property and nesting and laying their eggs on your lawn.
Yea you’re right, so since they weren’t breading in my yard I swear the ones in my neighbors yard saw it as free real estate and came swarming over! It just wasn’t the right scenario to use that product unless my neighbor removes all their standing water spots. Such is life 🤷🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
were the instructions that came with the first shipment very detailed as what to do and when?
I placed my order with Sunday yesterday and I'm just wondering what to expect.
Oh yea they have great instructions with each shipment. The pouches are very simple and the soil test kit requires some specific dig depths. Just be sure to look at all the paperwork that comes with it.
So i am thinking of using this next year, and like you, my yard is full of clovers, so i guess clovers aren't really weeds then? lol, i want grass but want the clovers and broadleaves to go. However, with you using it now nearly this whole season, would you recommend it? Thanks for the updates.
Yea I am going to look into something for the clovers, they’re getting out of hand. I think it grass is tougher this year and has come back from a lot of abuse. I will be doing this again next year, maybe even aerate the lawn too to get it decompacted. It’s pretty nice having someone take care of the planning and timing. I don’t have to store too much during the year.
Tenacity seems to be the stuff to look at for weeds. Leaves the actual grass alone as long as you don’t overspray. It is a herbicide which a lot of people try to avoid, but by all accounts it is what professionals use, but you can do DIY.
@@jordank9166 I have a dog…herbicide is a no go…so this is as close as I can get
So how much did you say spend for this ? I bet.a lot more than you would for a bottle of ammonia , a beer, and some dish soap. And to get rid of the weeds, try distilled white vinegar and some epsom salt.
If they didn’t get your soil sample, how do they “custom” send you what to get in shipment 2? I kinda feel that’s BS by them that they customized it per customer when there is only a couple of options lol
Yea I don’t think it was “customized” as they claimed. I probably got the generic package for my region. This year I will do the soil sample correctly and see if it makes a difference in what they send me. Or they’ll just be like “sample is as expected, no change.”
I'm pretty sure they assume the soil content by region in lieu of the soil results. With results = customized, otherwise you get a "average for your region" shipment.
ive been interested in Sunday but the lack of real reviews makes me suspicious. the downsides i have heard about is no grub control and no good weed control. Thanks for the vids
Yea the weed control is a separate purchase and it’s decently effective. You’d have to go into it with the intention of getting the most effective “non toxic” lawn care. This stuff doesn’t have that overpowering chemical smell that you’d get with a Scott’s weed and feed.
How did the winterizing go with Sunday? I ordered my first shipment, awaiting the shipment to get started. Now with it being a new year, hows it looking?
It’s looking pretty good! My update video got delayed as this year’s shipment was damaged by UPS and was returned to sender. Hopefully it’s resent soon!
I started the year with no bare patches! Tho some areas are a little more weeds than grass, but it’s filling in with grass pretty quickly. The best start to the year I’ve ever had here.
how long did it take for the first shipment to arrive?
We used this product for the 2022 season and gave it a good faith effort. I liked the fact that it was applied with water, but found the whole process of us applying the product with the hose to be cumbersome on our property and not worth it for the outcome.
I was trying to decide what we should do for this season and we got home from spring break and a SUNDAY box was at our house. I didn't realize we signed up for AUTO RENEW for this product. I detest auto renew products. It always feels like you are getting "taken". There was never an email stating, "Hi, it's time for us to send you your supplies for 2023 season. You have until xyz date to cancel or we are shipping to you." Something like that kinds of heads up communication would go a long way in customer perception of your company, Sunday.
I called today and was told they would not take the product back for a return and they could not give me my money back except for the product that hasn't shipped yet. I asked if the Sunday Rep would please check to see if there was a way to make it a full refund. I was told the rep would ask and call me back in 30 minutes. I am still waiting for the call back hours later.
WHETHER you LIKE this product or company or not BEWARE of the AUTO RENEW. It's like the drive thru...you know what they say about that.

need to kill off the clover. it will smother the grass out. 2,4D is what i use
