  • A simple way to add minerals back into RO water. As well as raise the pH, add antioxidant benefits and improve flavor and hydration. This is how to set up the Vitev REMIN (mineralization and ionization cartridge) on a RO system that gives access to the tubing and connectors after the membrane.

    I tried your suggestion to connect remin filters after the membrane and before the post carbon and tank. The TDS and PH are now more stable than after the tank. I have TDS between 75-100 and PH between 6.75-7.25. It is good for coffee as Specialty Coffee Association standard.

    Thanks for the great video. Can you possibly elaborate on the antioxidant benefits you mention from using a Remin filter?

      @vitevtv  3 года назад

      Hi Richard. Sure thing. There are 2 measurable changes the REMIN's minerals produce when interacting with the water. First is ORP (oxidation reduction potential). Water with a positive ORP level runs thru the REMIN and is flipped to a negative ORP. Positive levels reflect an oxidative effect, which is not beneficial for us. Negative ORP is. Secondly, and somewhat related, is that the REMIN creates free hydrogen thru the reaction of water and our Magnesium media. Hydrogen is referred to as the primordial antioxidant and effective across all of the body's various systems. It's an extremely powerful antioxidant. If you want additional info, shoot us an email at contact@vitev.com and we can talk in more detail than YT comments allow.

    A very informative video, thanks! Does the REMIN require an RO system, or can is be used independently?

    • @vitevtv
      @vitevtv  3 года назад

      The REMIN connects into a RO system, so there is no filtration media included in the REMIN. We have other undersink filters + minerals that work in a non-RO situation. You can find them at www.vitev.com.

    I wish you guys would include some longer tubes in this purchase. I just went to install but the red tube that's included is much too short to be added, and on the other side, the existing tube is also too short. I will have to buy more, not expensive, but why not include it?

    After re mineralizing, the water degrades over time. Wouldn't it make sense to have the remin in the polishing filter position, this way your always getting fresh remin water?

    • @vitevtv
      @vitevtv  6 лет назад

      Hi David. Sorry for the delay...we missed your comment. Because the tank is closed and doesn't allow light or oxygen in the water actually stays at very high levels for a long time. Having the minerals before the tank actually provides a better performance than if the REMIN is after. Has to do with the contact time the water has with the minerals and how it is better able to absorb and react with them. You can still place it after the tank if that's the only choice and get good performance though.

    I have a Whirlpool Reverse Osmosis Water Filtration System Model No.WHER25, Serial 37771, Code 07025 and I am interested to find out if a can install a Vitev Remin cartridge on it. I can physically install it on the line from the unit into the water faucet. What type of information I need to have to ale sure I don’t loose too much pressure on the faucet outlet.

      Hi Caesar. Sorry for the delay, we missed your comment/question. Yes, you can install the REMIN on your RO. It works on any RO. You won't lose any pressure. The only question we can't find an answer to is whether the tube going to the faucet is 1/4" or 3/8". If 3/8 we can provide the adapters you'd need. Just email us at contact@vitev.com and we'll set you up and answer any more questions.

    I have that similar 5 stage setup, but with a permeate pump. Should I install the REMIN after the pump?

    • @vitevtv
      @vitevtv  2 года назад

      Yes you would. Just make sure you have a tee on the downstream/tank side of the REMIN so the water will flow out of the tank and up to the faucet when using the RO faucet, not back through the REMIN again.

    • @JosephVymetalIII
      @JosephVymetalIII 2 года назад

      @@vitevtv Awesome. I am going to keep utilizing the polishing filter which has the tee on the intake side so shouldn't be an issue. REMIN after pump and before polishing filter. Cool and thanks for reply. Looking forward to akaline water at the drinking faucet!

    Hello, I have one of these and I can see the minerals murky color in the water. In this case would post sediment/carbon filter eliminate this issue
    There are inline filter that have bit sediment and carbon in one filter.

    • @vitevtv
      @vitevtv  3 года назад

      Hi Pepperjack. No we wouldn't recommend anything after the REMIN. If you are using our cartridge (REMIN) and there is a bit of mineral dust/sediment in the water, that just means you need more flushing before it's fully ready to use. Make sure it's really sediment tho, because the water can also look cloudy, but it's not sediment, it's bubbles. Those bubbles are free hydrogen, are very good for you, and are showing a strong ionization reaction. It will lessen with time, but when you look closely, you'll see the bubbles. To determine if it's minerals or sediment, let the glass sit a few minutes and look on the bottom. Bubbles will dissipate and collect on the sides of the glass, sediment will collect on the bottom.

      @@pepperjack8 the carbon will knock down the pH a bit. Do you have the REMIN installed directly after the tank or is it after membrane, prior to tank?

    Can these be used in tankless solutions or does it require more pressure a tank provides?

    • @vitevtv
      @vitevtv  2 года назад +1

      Hi Dennis. Yes, they can be used with tankless, but those varieties will result in a slower flow because of the reduced system pressure. On the flip side, you would get very good performance with respect to pH, antioxidant levels, etc because of the longer time the water has with the minerals.

    • @vitevtv
      @vitevtv  7 лет назад

      Yes, you could do that. You'd have to run another line in parallel that could bypass the REMIN on it's way to the faucet with a ball valve on the supply side to manually turn on/off.
