Thank you for doing this video, this worked on my Canon MF644Cdw. I never knew there was an actual button for the volume lol, no wonder it never worked :)

This saved me so much time, I was turning bald
You saved my life!!!!!!!!!! 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩 The printer had Administration as default user showing on the panel. It gave me alphanumerical keyboard to change it. Then, when it came to using it, the keyboard was purely numerical. So nothing worked and I was locked out of my printer. This saved my printer!

@@GreyTechLive the printer doesn't have an on/off double sided feature and only prints in double sided on my Mac os Ventura. No issue on moble as the option is showing. Do you have a solution for this? If so, please make a video about it! I can't find anywhere a solution. Thanks.

you glorious man, have a MF743Cdw model and running into unclearable errors and recently one that didnt have a matching admin user/pin, as they were under warranty just forced them on canon to fix, but this saves soo much dam time now.

dude i love you! i was about to throw my brand new printer out of the window because i didnt set PIN but kept asking for one what i SET (but i didnt).
Received a new wifi router and needed to change wifi on the printer. Printer was bricked without this. Lifesaver.

Many Thanks. Functions also on MF657Cdw. One small difference in the last sequence: to reach the Button 'ALL' you have to scroll down in the menu CLEAR.

I'm guessing that there have been changes to the Image Class MF642C dw since this video came out. Pressing the screen on either side of the "home" button does nothing. Pressing the "speaker" button does not bring up a volume control screen, but brings up a screen with 6 menu items, for "tone" selections to apply to various job functions.
And dealing with Canon is like sticking needles in your eyes.

Hi GreyTech, thanks SO much for this - I have a new MF645cx and your instructions work till I get to the ‘ALL’ option as there is no ALL option on my printer - do you know which button I press instead please? The options once I have pressed the FUNCTION button are CCD, CLEAR, MISC-R, MISC-P, SYSTEM and VIFFNC. Fingers crossed you can help me..

It was a while ago now so I can’t remember what I did - maybe it was via the clear option - I think I just looked at all the options until found something that worked. well this is pretty cool but it is a FULL FACTORY RESET. There are lots of settings to be lost

True, but when you can't get into anything because you've forgotten the password which isn't the default - it prevents the machine from being bricked.
Does this work in mf645?

And if you only want to reset the admin password and remove the admin ID (and keep all other settings): Service Mode > COPIER > FUNCTION > SPLMAN > SPL43810 > YES
