I use to cook all the time. I am 68 years old and had a stroke in April 2019. I had to learn to read and write again. I enjoy watching your videos because it reminds me how I use to cook.
Hi, from Texas! I just love the tips you give all of the time. The egg wash versus buttermilk wash, and the rubbery potatoes tips were something not every cook knows. Thank you.
My mom was sick a lot when I was growing up and I would have to get up early before school and make my dad his breakfast. Thus I learn to make and roll out biscuits when I was thirteen. Have a blessed day.
Butter biscuits with sugar!! Mmmm, we grew up eating them at my granny's. And then when I got married and had kids we lived by granny and my little boy was always sneaking over her house to get a sugar biscuit!
I'm a southern country girl and I grew up like you start every morning at 4 am making 4 loafs for lunch sandwich of fresh bread. 24 to 35 biscuits and ever night 2 cast iron skillets of cornbread delicious I love country life. But the last 20 years I've lived in the city but still do my country girl ways was what the world coming to Sister your not kidding Amen bless you and yours p.s. I'm Catholic
I live in an apartment so we don't have dishwashers, unfortunately. The complex isn't fixed to have them. I run hot, sudsy water before prepping and cooking. That way, when I'm through, I can put them in the hot water to soak for a bit. I wash dishes as I go. I hate standing over the sink scrubbing caked on food. By putting them in as soon as I'm finished with them, I don't have to scrub them. I do this especially when I have company over. When I cook, they offer to wash the dishes. I love fried cube steak. When my extended family goes deer hunting, I get the ground deer for my 'Sloppy Doe's' and the cube steaks. So very delicious. Your dinner looks mouthwatering. Nothing like old on country, comforting soul food.
I thoughly enjoy your show, I started watching because I 'm a widow, diabetic and trying to cook for 1 . You are great, funny, and I believe I can cook a great meal for me. Thanks, Janet.
I just love watching and learning from you. You are awesome, I have made many of your recipes and my family loves them. You and Chris are just so sweet together. God Bless you all
Love this meal. ❤ We take an extra piece of meat that we fried and cut it in small as you can cut it and put the meat pieces in the gravy when gravy is not thick yet and keep stirring the gravy then when gravy is thick enough your read to eat sometimes we have mashed potatoes or fried potatoes or white rice.❤
Loved your real life kitchen racket! Always like to see how other folks whip up dinner and you look very cute! I also love the butterfly earrings !❤️🙏😍
I really really miss my granny's cooking 🍳! She would make fried cube steak, gravy, fried potatoes 🥔 and green with biscuits too! It was do delicious and I enjoyed every meal.
We bought half a cow from a friend's beef & there's some round steak and chuck steak in there. I've been pounding mine, then I dredge it, fry it in my Dutch oven , then putting it all back into the Dutch oven with sliced onions and mushrooms to help it stay nice and making gravy after it's out of the oven, but I think I might just give pan frying a try now after watching this. The ones I have are thicker than what comes from the store though so I'll probably have to cut them up into smaller pieces.
Those potatoes were perfect but I would be putting some of that delicious gravy on mine 😋cast iron is the best to use and if you run a little anemic it will boost your iron levels. Two great videos today what a treat for us !
This is our dinner today...exactly (including wilted potatoes)! We lost our fridge in Hurricane Idalia and still trying to NOT waste our food. Looking forward to a great meal today, thank you!
I just happened to see your channel as I was surfing on RUclips and I am so happy I did..you are a delight to watch and your recipes sound and look wonderful.. I subscribed before the video was over!!
Tammy I just bought a new stove and I don't like all this digital mess either. I almost had to go to college to learn how to work it now I am use to it. No knobs at all everything digital.
I’m with you girl , no White Lily in the store ! We’re in the south , Lordy mercy , what do you mean ? Tammy , can I just say ...your motivational / soul baring video this morning about brought me to tears . You were led by the Holy Spirit to touch some lives honey . From an old Tennessee great grams. Be blessed and favored always 💖❤️🙏🏽
I love this video! It is my 1st time watching 1 of your videos. I had an amazing babysitter from 6 weeks to 5 yrs old. She was from Oklahoma. She loved to tend to her family and her little ones that she spent lots of time caring for. I learned how to cook many foods from being with her. Yes, I was a youngster, but I had a great mind back then! Anyway, fried potatoes, mashed potatoes, green beans & sweet tea stuck with me, and I am 60 1/2 yrs old! She loved to make pomegranate jelly for me, too. Thank you for being so real and genuine in your videos. Its funny when you come across a video where people complain about the cook using clean, ungloved hands to cook. They freak out! So silly Keep on keeping it real! Yum! 😋
I just LOVE LOVE LOVE all your tutorials. You honestly just make my day and I have learned so much from you. But I just have to tell you...I am an antique freak. I have antiques everywhere and I'm so close to 70 I'm shaking hands with it and had never heard of a Foley Fork, sorry don't know the exact name. I had never made biscuits before, my mother was not into cooking much. Anyway, I found an antique Foley Fork thing on ebay. Just had to get it and now that I've used it, I don't know how I went all my life without one. Thank you so much for everything!
Glad I found this channel my inspiration to get back to cooking. I started back cooking nightly when everything shut down and cut back when I went back to work
I made my fried cubed steak and gravy for the first time because of you!!! Neither my mother or I have eaten it in over a decade and I cook everything, minus most pasta from scratch, but I don't fry anything except occasionally catfish and I don't buy that. I have been so scared to mess up and ruin good beef. Yet I have watched, cooked, and been so successful doing many of your recipes that I decided I was going to do it. Oh boy did we ever have an amazing dinner with mashed potatoes and peas! Thanks for all your excellent videos and easy to follow steps💞
I like mushy potatoes lol☺ Speaking of Walmart. We stopped shopping at Walmart. They changed the store around and moved everything to the back concerning regular bought house hold items. My wife said she's not going to walk a half mile to buy a roll of toilet paper. One of her friends went in our local Walmart and had no flour nor cornmeal except a few bags of their brand flower. My wife is White Lilly all the way too. 99% of her cooking is done in cast iron and she likes the Victoria skillets with the curved handles because of weak wrist. Thanks for sharing your dedication to real home cooking. We really enjoy them.
I always clean as I go and thought everyone did too until I was on a Women's Retreat for multiple churches. The theme was "Being a Mary in a Martha World". It was about how busy women are in a modern world and not taking time to nurture your relationship with God. As a member of the leadership team, we discussed ways we maximized our time doing busy work in order to leave is additional time for God and family. Also, less chaos typically means a clearer mind. I talked about cleaning your home as you go, especially your kitchen while cooking. My point was to clean as you go and I started by asking when audience members cleaned their kitchens from big meals. One lady said she cleaned her kitchen and supper dishes right before she started cooking. I was a bit confused and she explained she just left everything until the next evening....right before cooking. It threw me so off that I couldn't even remember what I was suppose to be talking about. Over a decade later and it still rattles me thinking about it!!!
I absolutely love watching your videos and hearing your stories....I have learned a lot watching you cook....I am so glad I found you on youtube....you and Chris have been such a blessing to watch.....I even have my husband watching your videos now.....by the way, my husband loves to fish too.....we are watching y'all from South Carolina.....we absolutely love y'all
when I 1st saw 44 minutes video time, I thought so long. But, 20:01 minutes into this... made me miss my grandma so bad. You Are So Good. If YOU Have Children Please share with them. YOU ARE SO GOOD:).
My Granny taught me to fry potatoes. The first time I made them, they were brown, but half we're done and half we're not cooked. Bless Granny, she said it was best ever... I can fry them right now, lol
TAMMY, YOU ARE SO ADORABLE. YOU THROW A BIG MEAL TOGETHER LIKE IT WAS NO EFFORT. AMAZING!! YOU DO SO MUCH AND ARE SUCH A GOOD COOK. BREADED CUBE STEAKS WERE ONE OF MY SON'S FAVORITE MEALS WHEN HE LIVED AT HOME. ENJOY ALL YOUR VIDEOS. I THINK PEOPLE MAY HAVE BEEN CONCERNED WHEN YOUR PAN YOU FRIED THE STEAK IN WAS LEFT ON FOR QUITE A WHILE AFTER THE MEAT WAS REMOVED. YOU DID EVENTUALLY TURN IT OFF. I WAS CONCERNED TOO. YOU WERE INVOLVED IN SO MUCH IS PROBABLY WHY. WISH MY HUBBY WAS STILL ALIVE TO COOK FOR. LOVE YOUR PERSONALITY TOO. STAY SAFE. THANK YOU FOR SHARING. 💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕
I enjoy your shows so much. The way you cook is how my Mother used to do it. And my grandmother before her . So I am learning it from you!! Love you, Tammy! Please keep on like you are. Teaching us how to do it the way our Mothers and Grandmothers did it!!!

I use to cook like you no longer able due to my health 😢. But love ❤watching other's. Have you every had fried potatoes & onion sandwich 🥪 love this every now and then.😅
Cube Steak & gravy is a favorite meal with me and all my pep's, but got to have some biscuits for sopping up all that deliciousness. I often start mine on top of the stove, but place them in the oven, simmering in gravy with a lid on for 30-45 minutes.
I havnt had cube steakand gravy in a long time. This looks like the most ultimate delicious meal ever.I havnt had the iron skillet taters in forever either.I.Almost wanna lick the screen almost lolol.
Tammy, I made biscuits just like you, I rolled them in the palm of my hands but mine were larger, my daddy would of called them catfish head biscuits. I had sausage gravy on top. My husband thinks he has gone to heaven with my new joy of cooking like your mama did!
You are so smart and I appreciate that! I heard you talk about your education, but I mean you never seem to make others feel silly as you educate. That is smart and kind.
I love that towel thing you're wearing around your neck. I, too use my hands alot while cooking so am always reaching for something to wipe them on....so clever.
Mary Ann Knipfer I am a quilter as well and do love it. but my health has gone down in the last few years. I have a whole room dedicated with good quilting fabric. I mean every wall has shelfs and all the fabric has been washed and wrapped around a fabric holder thing and placed on a shelf. I've got so much I could open up a quilting store. LOL Anyway, I'm telling you all that because your ministry touched me! I would LOVE to gift you fabric for your ministry if you are interested. Let me know and God Bless You!
I'm ten and happy to be watching some cooking shows to show my mom
I use to cook all the time. I am 68 years old and had a stroke in April 2019. I had to learn to read and write again. I enjoy watching your videos because it reminds me how I use to cook.
This country girl from Knoxville, TN just loves you to pieces!

Glad your back doing your longer videos again and cooking whole meals. Watching you cook that meal brought back good memories.

Awesome!
That Chris is one blessed man...... I’ve never made chicken fried steak, but now I’m going to. It’s so yummy-
Why is it called chicken fried steak?
We bought half a cow from a friend's beef & there's some round steak and chuck steak in there. I've been pounding mine, then I dredge it, fry it in my Dutch oven , then putting it all back into the Dutch oven with sliced onions and mushrooms to help it stay nice and making gravy after it's out of the oven, but I think I might just give pan frying a try now after watching this. "He can't tell me no when we're live". LOL I would love that supper!! Love y'all!
Wow just wow. Some of the things I see you do just amazes me. Also some of the stuff you say really shows your knowledge. Bless your heart.
Wow, thank you!
I enjoy your show so much. Your so real and down to earth. It's just like being at home cooking with my mom and grandmother

Love you saying this is a big "eye". That's what my Moma always called the burners on her wood stove❤
This is my kind of dinner. Looks delicious. Love to watch the two of you together.♥️
This is our dinner today...exactly (including wilted potatoes)! We lost our fridge in Hurricane Idalia and still trying to NOT waste our food. Looking forward to a great meal today, thank you!

That looks better than pretty good! Yum! This reminds me of my Granny cooking in the kitchen, and she taught us all something each time we helped.
I always take a pinch of the flour into the oil to see if it’s hot enough to sizzle. You’re good at multitask cooking, it always challenges me.
I do the pinch of flour in the oil also.
Thank you for allowing us into your beautiful kitchen to share your delicious recipes with us 👌❤👍
We have fun with you and Chris too. You are always so up . Makes me so happy to be in the kitchen with ya’ll.
