My mama used to get up at 5 a.m. and have a breakfast like this for us ,5 kids, before we caught the bus, but at 8 p.m. my mama was in the bed and my dad would play board games with us after working all day so we thought mama was sorta lazy but when I got married and had 3 children and kept my house clean like mama and cooked all the time I can see she was just give out......My dad worked hard also and at age 40 we lost him to a massive heart attack so we was so grateful that he took up a lot of time with us.
So sorry that you lost your dad at such an early age😥 My mom made breakfast for us when we were young, but once we hit high school, we were on our own for breakfast...Instant Breakfast was very new in those days, so, that's what I had and always tried to give my younger sisters something more substantial.
My dad used to make breakfast for us on the weekends and on our birthday's, he'd make a special breakfast for just the birthday girl and himself...he'd get us up very early so we could have our "special' breakfast before he left for work. He'd slice an orange in half and stick a birthday cake candle in it and sing happy birthday to us...those breakfast moments with dad were the absolute best!!!
I, also, didn't appreciate just how hard my Momma worked to keep a clean home for the 8 of us. As the eldest she always relied on me to help her with the newest baby. She always was sitting on the radiators by the front windows to see that we had come home safely from school each day, so I too had taken that moment of rest as laziness. In fact, we had an old wringer washing machine in the basement. After manhandling the wash around the tubs of soapy and rinse water wringing out the excess water, in good weather she physically carried wet laundry up and out to hang it on the clothes lines. There was nothing like the smell of clean fresh line dried linen, but by the time I had become a young woman, anything line dried came back inside covered with tiny specks of charcoal (Detroit). My mother's knees eventually gave out to arthritis, and we finally lost her to cancer. I guess my point is to appreciate the extraordinary efforts that your mom has been willing to make for you while you still have the pleasure of her company. (Note: This video reminded me that we also had a cinnamon sugar shaker that we used for toast. The family kept a freezer full of Wonderbread to keep young tummies full.)

You know, after coming back and looking at this...one of my favorite things about you is that you don't have all your ingredients pre-measured. You are not "trying out" recipes. You are literally just cooking for your family and that is beautiful.
I didn’t know you could make cinnamon rolls out of biscuit dough and they look delicious !!! Love watching you cook like my momma used to do . Brings back a lot of good memories !!!❤️❤️❤️
Tammy, you are my very favorite cook to watch!! Great meals but you’re just great company, & entertainment to my day! More people need to be just “ themselves”, & that’s what you & Chris are! Plain, simple, sweet down home folks I love! Thank you for giving the atmosphere “ of home”! You have a sweet & great sense of humor, at the same time “ a fabulous cook”! God bless you both! ❤️🙏. Yes!! “ Go White Lily”! Lol.
I love that Tammy uses down home ingredients. You can just feel the love when she cooks. She has been doing this for a long time, so most of this is just second nature to her. Bet her Momma & Granny taught her how to cook. It's a real shame today that down home, made for scratch food seems to be a lost art. People are so busy today & everyone wants fast & easy. But there is NOTHING like good home cooking. Thank you both for sharing. GOD BLESS 😇❤️
Yayyyyyy, woman! You cook like I do! Wish my kids didn’t grow up and move onto their own lives😛. No one here to cook for☹️. Come on over! I’ll cook for you and Chris! Have a lovely day. Stay well and safe🙏🏼🤗
When you store Potatoes in the Refrigerator, they turn to Sugar.😝 So before cooking them, take out and place on counter to come back to room temperature.
Really enjoy your videos and the way you cook! I like to see Chris take an active role in the videos too. You all make a good team!! St. Mary’s is such a beautiful area, you all are very fortunate to live in such an area! Please keep these wonderful videos coming. The younger generations need to see someone cook/ bake in country-old fashion back to basic manner!! So you all are providing a great service!!
I always use my hands for many things with cooking. I would tell my daughter “hands wash” now she is a better cook than me. But she has all the wonderful videos that people like you put on. I sure do enjoy watching you cook. Carol
Hiii y’all!!!! Hugs from the north - moved here from Ga - Woodstock and Marietta area My dad needed me So I cook him lots of southern cooking. Thanks to y’all ❤️✌️🤗🤗
I love you both so much because you're real. Thank you for sharing a part of your life with us and passing on great recipes and how to do it for real. God bless you both. ❤
Hi everyone! I've pretty bad arthritis and am too surviving cancer!! God is so good. I can't hardly roll out biscuits anymore so I did it phone style with the sugar and cinnamon in the center of two pours of the batter. I added rasins to the batter. 375 for 40 minutes. So good, I used your icing recipe 😋 Thank you and God bless. My granny taught me to cook and i don't measure either, sorry.
Until I met my fiance 2 years ago, I always scrambled eggs plain. Ronnie fixes them with a little milk and just folds them with a spatula a few times-lots fluffier and tasty too. I've learned a few things about cooking from him even though after 35+ years cooking I thought I was a pretty good cook
I bake biscuits all the time with only White Lily Self Rising just like my momma did here in the eastern hills of Tennessee. But I have never made cinnamon roll biscuits! But since watching you I am gonna try some. Have a blessed day.
Hello beautiful 🌹❤️! Cooked some cinnamon rolls this morning 🌄 and we love them 😋🤤😋! Thank you for sharing ☺️. We had grits and eggs and bacon 🥓with ours.
I am so thankful that I found your wonderful channel! You have changed my life for the better! I'm going to try this recipe. But I've already watched your videos for apple fritters and fried apple pies. Now I have to decide which to do first! I love fried potatoes for breakfast when I don't fix grits. My husband likes grits better than potatoes but I am of Irish descent and I'm pretty sure if I don't have potatoes, I might die! I do like grits too so there's another happy choice to make. If only life was that way more often. I am truly blessed to have found you. Thank you.
It’s a pure joy watching you all in the kitchen cooking up a Blessed Food Storm. Thank You For The cinnamon roll recipe. Loving Blessings Upon You Always ❤️
I love watching you cook and I know whatever you do is just like my Momma would do!! I'm a Ga girl, born and raised in Social Circle but moved to Jacksonville, Fla so I'm still southern!! People around here never heard of brunswick stew but once they try it they Love it!! You're such an inspiration in many ways and I'm glad I found your channel! God bless you
I found Swaggerty in Ca. I love not only the taste but the texture is so great. Originally from Tennessee around the Mississippi. I remember this fresh sausage taste. I love this sausage and hope I can continue getting it. Thank you for the simple cinnamon roll recipe and all your great recipes and trips around. Thank you too Chris for your great sense of humor. Happy Sunday Morning.
I love your videos ! I love the way you cook! I have tried some of your recipes and they are wonderful! Thank you for blessing me with your knowledge and technique!
We haven’t gone into church since the Covid scare, either. I struggle with that concept, but like you and Chris, we listen online. It’s hard for us now due to my needing a knee replacement and Bill having complications from diabetes. We are former choir members and I really miss our church family since we’ve moved. I enjoy your Bible study times, too. Happy and blessed Sunday!
I enjoy your show so much and LOVE your kitchen. I made the green beans the other night and they are so much better than anything tried to do to them. And I did the chicken fries steak dinner last night and my husband was so happy. Thank you so much for your show and have an amazing day!!
You remind me of a former in law, she was such a good cook, we loved her so much. I wish she was still in our family. I love watching your shows, because I learn new things from you.
I didn't know you had a cook book. I just started watching this channel yesterday and made the apple skillet cake which my husband loves. So thanks for sharing.💜
Great minds! I had breakfast for dinner today. But, I’ve never made cinnamon rolls from biscuit dough. They look so yummy! 😋 I have to try that this week. I’m in NY so I’m not sure about getting any of that beautiful sausage, either. I can’t thank you enough for taking the mystery out of making crispy fried potatoes. And it all got finished at the same time! As always, a fun meal with you and Chris!!
I used to work as a catering manager for a gourmet firm. We made “cinnamon cigars” or long thin cinnamon rolls like these in pastry w similar ingredients but we did add pinches of brown sugar & nutmeg. It was one of our biggest sellers for brunches & desserts. Brown sugar isn’t sticky & the nutmeg is fabulous.
I just love your cooking. I swear we could be sisters. I love cooking & baking like you I'm from the south my whole family is ...nothing like food made from scratch..yours is better though 😉... ive been saving so many of your recipes. 😍😋😋
I found your channel not long ago and I love it. I love to watch you cook. You cook so many dishes that I was raised on and that I have cooked for my own family. I live in Graham County, in Western North Carolina, born and raised here. Best Wishes to you and your family and I look forward to watching many more of your videos. God Bless.
Just had to hop back on here. I just made your cinnamon rolls. They turned out Beautiful 😍. I’d love to try them but can’t do to gluten sensitivities BUT I have someone that will just love them. Thank you Tammy.
Like you, I am particular about my sausage taste. Thank you for telling us your fans about Swaggerty's brand. A local chain in So CA carries it and you can win the bet that I'll be going over tomorrow to get some. I also finally bought your #3 cookbook, along with several of your must haves, from Amazon. I didn't realize you get kick-backs if I go through your website, promise I will follow that path going forward. Can't wait to get the shipment! Love you girl!
Hi Tammy I love watching u cook your fast n you don't miss a step and when your done it looks so good I love when a cook gets right to it not one that talks then they stop n talk some more not you I love the way u talk n cook n u r done so fast u don't keep saying the same thing over n over you are a fabulous cook my mother is from Virginia n u remind me of her the way u cook
I have to tell you about that sausage. I live up here in beautiful West Virginia and all we know how to say, when it comes to sausage, is Swaggerty's. Most of my life, that's all I ever eat. My 88yr old mom lives in a coastal Ga. resort area and was out for breakfast last week at a very exclusive restaurant- most of them are as its an island resort destination. She asked her server if he knew what kind of sausage they served. He said "Our chef won't allow anything in the kitchen except Swaggerty's!" My mom told him her daughter up a holler in W.V. wouldn't allow anything else in her kitchen, either!!! There's nothing out there to beat it. Love, love your videos.
I made your cinnamon biscuits and they were so good, next time I need to roll out my dough bigger so I have more of a roll to hold it together. It was my first time making them, I will do better next time, my icing was perfect. God bless you and Chris.
Tammy, Hello honey! Tell Chris Hello for me too...Those Cinnamon Rolls looks delicious! The whole breakfast did! Lord I remember eating like that when Mama cooked it! Sunday morning was always just a lil more hectic for me! With Mama, it always run so smooth! She'd get up, get a cuppa coffee n start getting everything out for breakfast! Then she'd run get dressed for church and didn't take her long bc she was simple but always beautiful! She'd fix her hair last after breakfast! Then she'd already have everything heated the stove n pans with whatever she's gonna cook! Biscuits came first, then taters next, meat, eggs n gravy was last! Mama alwaya had everything done before all of us got outta bed! Us bigger ones, Me, lol had to be dressed before breakfast bc I had honors of dishes! Lol. Mama would wash things up as she went along bc you always have a pan of dishwater ready! She'd slice a tomater or two bc we liked them with taters, gravy, biscuits n eggs! I'd finish dishes while mama helped the little one or sometimes, I'd get the younger ones dressed! When mama cooked breakfast, she'd always be cooking dinner too..She'd have everything prepared for Sunday dinner ready to go Saturday night! It went smooth on Sunday morning cause there was 9 of us so something had to go smooth n easy! She was Awesome in everything she did! I still think now, How did Mama do all that with all of us n it go so easy peasy n smooth! Then I thought, Well we always had respect, kindness n didn't argue n fight like kids do today! We was all well behaved and listened when we were spoke to or else! We all knew what our responsibilities were n we did exactly what we was suppose too...I love you Tammy and you always bring back so many memories for me! Thank you and Chris for bringing so many memories home! God Bless and keep you n your family in his Sweet Grace! I sure wish we were friends in life! Have a Happy Day! 🙏🙏💙💖💪😀
Good old days. Wish we could go back to this type of living and people not being so crazy. My mom used to do similar stuff. She passed this year cause of the nursing ho e mess in jersey. She was 94 but I’ll always miss her. Love the way you wrote. Stay safe. Much love to you. Old lady from south jersey. 🙋🏼♀️👍🏻❤️💪🏻🖖🏻🇺🇸

I can remember daddy grinding sausage with the meat grinder attached to the kitchen table (I am sure mama loved that).he would let me help him as it got easy to turn that's when I fell in love with the smell of sage.
Yummy! I’ve only found Swaggerty sausage in West Palm Beach. I always buy it when I find it. I designed the shipping/loading dock for Swaggerty’s. And lived just down the road from their plant in Kodak, TN!
My Daughter and Her 2 Kids lived with Me for about 4 years. I did most of the Cooking and My Grandaughter would not hardly eat anything Her Mom cooked Her. She would always tell anybody that it wasn't as good as Her Granny's no matter what it was. Lol. She called Me one morning asking Me to tell Her Mom how I cooked the Eggs. So I did. Then They had moved out by then. On another day She called asking Me to teach Her how to cook Eggs She was 7. She is 9 now and She is becoming a good little cook. Always helps Me in the kitchen when She spends the night. 💜 Thanks for Sharing. Take Care and God Bless.
@@CollardValleyCooks yes it is. I was cooking whole meals for a family of 8 when I was 9. But My Mom was near telling Me what to do. She was Ill alot after Her last Baby. So I stepped Up.
Just checked and Sam's club sells that sausage here in Pittsburgh I think. Next trip I'm going to try it! My grandkids are going to love those cinnamon rolls.
I trying to get use to that sausage Tammy I have to sprinkle a little sage on mine and it's a lot better we have a Neeses sausage here local farm and it is fresh they have bacon liver pudding it is in all local grocery stores I have always loved Neeses!❤
You are so right, the best sausage patties EVER! Love, love your videos. I so appreciate you sharing your recipes on video!!!! I have used your biscuit recipe for a lot of things, so easy and good. Thank you.
I’m so glad I found your channel last year! And it’s so nice knowing you also love the Lord! We go to FBC - Forney, TX. We’re just east of Big D! And like you, we’re still watching online. Now back to your breakfast! That looks so good! I’m going to have to try those cinnamon rolls! And next time I make scrambled eggs I’m going to do so using your method! I think I always beat mine to death and they get so rubbery! I’ve never put butter in fried potatoes either, but I’ll bet they are delicious! And last, I’ve heard of Swaggerty’s sausage, but never had any. I don’t know if they even sell it in Texas! We usually get Jimmy Dean sausage. Anyway, too bad we weren’t in your neighborhood this morning! Ha! Thanks so much for all the wonderful food ideas! Bless you! ❤️🙏🏻

Potatoes in the fridge makes them sweet tasting. Sore them in a cool, dry place.
I like to fry potatoes in bacon grease. 😋
I do too with small pieces of bacon cut up in them.
I have to have onions in my fried potatoes
@@marvinabigby5509 and red bell peppers are good with the onions, too.

Wow! That is cool!
I made your cinnamon biscuits and they were so good, next time I need to roll out my dough bigger so I have more of a roll to hold it together. It was my first time making them, I will do better next time, my icing was perfect. God bless you and Chris.
Wonderful!
Now that is a great looking breakfast. I wish I was there to taste it. Love y'all
I think “hands”, are our best tool in the kitchen! Love watching you! 💜💜💜

My M-I-L was one of twelve. Her mama and daddy cooked breakfast together on the wood cook stove.. Mama often talked about her mother cooking breakfast. If she lacked lard she made biscuits with butter. She would go to the smokehouse for ham. I loved to hear these memories.

How do you store an onion that is half used? I always bag it and put in the fridge.
@@ComeOut.BeYeSeparate. Yes always!...I double bag mine & store in the veg drawer, but never before cutting!
I add cinmamon to my coffee grounds before I brew it. It really does improve the flavor! The rolls look delicious.

Butter, Brown sugar and raisins. Yummy❤
This is making my mouth water. I can almost taste it. Yummy!!
Not trying to disrespect White Lily but Hudson Cream Flour has now replaced White Lily in my cabinet. Love ur recipes !!!
Lard makes the best biscuits.
I can remember daddy grinding sausage with the meat grinder attached to the kitchen table (I am sure mama loved that).he would let me help him as it got easy to turn that's when I fell in love with the smell of sage.
I recently bought something similar, and I love it
Beautiful cinnamon rolls 😍
Yummy! I’ve only found Swaggerty sausage in West Palm Beach. I always buy it when I find it. I designed the shipping/loading dock for Swaggerty’s. And lived just down the road from their plant in Kodak, TN!
This is my kind of Breakfast!!
It is good to start young!
@@CollardValleyCooks yes it is. I was cooking whole meals for a family of 8 when I was 9. But My Mom was near telling Me what to do. She was Ill alot after Her last Baby. So I stepped Up.
I used to work at a commercial bakery that made hand rolled cinnamon rolls. We used regular sugar with the cinnamon. Yummy! What a hearty breakfast!
Thanks for the live video on making cinnamon rolls, im starting some now.
Hi again ☺️. My Grandmother used to make biscuit cinnamon rolls.
Just checked and Sam's club sells that sausage here in Pittsburgh I think. Next trip I'm going to try it! My grandkids are going to love those cinnamon rolls.

You are so right, the best sausage patties EVER! Love, love your videos. I so appreciate you sharing your recipes on video!!!! I have used your biscuit recipe for a lot of things, so easy and good. Thank you.
What a simple way to make those. Thank you and I got that.
You're an excellent cook and teacher...
I've always used brown sugar on my cinnamon rolls and had no problems rolling them. I also love cinnamon.
I use brown sugar and cinnamon it’s yummy. I make your biscuit dough with vanilla for my dough for these too!! Yummy ! Made some this morning !

So relaxing to watch you work with dough. I'm also a Baker but I still pick up small tips from you!🍞🍰🍪🍩🥧
I’m so glad I found your channel last year! Bless you! ❤️🙏🏻
Love your cooking
