I enjoy your videos because you talk just like I was raised you’re with your accent and that and I enjoy watching you cook get a lot of good ideas from there
My mama didnt like to cook, I learned from my grandmothers. ❤ I am now working on a family cookbook, it is like a scrapbook to hand down to my daughters.
I love your cooking. My Mom and Grandmother were excellent cooks and I loved to help. My Dad made me a little stool to stand on so I could reach the kitchen counters. I was three or four then. Mom cleaned as she cooked so all dishes were done when she put the food on the table except the dishes on the table. So one of my first little jobs were cleaning the tools she used while cooking, then I was promoted to dishes used to mix things and finally to the pots and pans. She made such a big deal of each promotion I loved to do this for her. I do as she did and clean as I cook too and I like doing dishes, of course with dishwashers now it is much easier. My Mom and Grandmother are both in heaven now but I love cooking and being in the kitchen. I always smile remembering the fun days I spent in the kitchen with them.
Awwwww So Sweet! Thx for sharing that precious, precious memory! 😍. What an awesome Mom💕She truely showed you how any job can be done with love for family and it’s not just drudgery! Priceless! My family would say I was never interested in the kitchen, but I realize now after having daughters, I never was encouraged, made to feel welcome or expected to learn and help. Luckily, my Mom was a wonderful cook and made jams every year, but didn’t care to bake, so as a teenager I became the cake and dessert specialist!
@@SK-ki1te Thank you for your reply. I was raised on a farm, we had a huge garden and canning was a summer long process. I remember sitting on our front porch shucking corn or getting green beans ready for canning. My Grandmother and Grandfather did not live with us but Grandmother was there on canning days to help and we would be laughing as we worked. Mom always canned enough for my Grandparents and our Preachers family too. i have so many great memories of our times in the kitchen and canning in the summertime and fall. You and I have a lot in common cause my first items to cook were desserts too. I was always in charge of the desserts for Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter and any occasions we had company for dinner, which was very often. I am so thankful for those good memories and good times and for my parents and Grandparents.
I grew up eating fried potatoes like yours but now I fry mine in bacon grease. I also dice my potatoes instead of slicing them. I start my eggs in cold water, bring them to a roiling boil, cover them, and set them aside for 30 minutes. They cook completely.
When you did Real Southern Woman you would sit and chat and seemed to be relaxed. You didn't seem in a hurry :) That meal looked delicious. Hope you are all better soon :)
I never had nausea with my shingles and I've had them 3 times. My second time I had shingles in the flank of my back, oh talk about pain deluxe. Get well soon, love y'all! ❤❤❤🎉
@@CollardValleyCooks I was sick to my tummy when I had shingles. It's like the worse possible case of ckn pox which I had nausea as well with ckn pox. I stayed in the tub more than out. I feel for you. Don't wish that on anyone.
I nap every day, at 70. But, then again, I'm up at 4am every morning. Mornings are my favorite part of the day. I want it to last as long as possible. I'm most productive then. I've had shingles too. Definitely not a picnic.

The next time you go to your pharmacist, ask for Meclizine. It helps with nausea. Also get you some Pedialyte or the off brand called "Pediatric electrolytes". You will feel so much better with in the hour.
Nothing better than soup beans, fried potatoes, cornbread and onions. Love that meal. Great to see you Tammy.. Hope you’re feeling human again. Love ya 🤗💞Tammy you look great without your makeup. You’re one of those women that looks great with or without it.

With my pinto beans I like some country ham pieces as seasoning while they cook and some Tenda-Bake White corn meal mix cornbread done in my mama's 1951 Griswold cast iron skillet. My mama likes cornbread and pintos too. I also like coleslaw with it, made with cabbage, vinegar, water, Splenda, salt and pepper. Glad you're feeling better. If you find the ground beef in the car, cook it for your pets if you don't want to eat it.
Tammy, please don’t stress about the eggs. it doesn’t matter what they look like; it’s what they taste like. Also, stress brings on more shingles, and I know you don’t want that. I’m so surprised to see you up and cooking. Please take care.
Could I please ask a question? Why do you not get the vaccine for shingles? My Mom had shingles and was so miserable for months with them and I had a terrible time with chickenpox, high, high fever, broke out on the inside of my body way before the outside so I absolutely knew I did not want to get shingles. I paid 125.00 dollars to get the vaccine, now if you are on Medicare the vaccine is free to you. My best girlfriend, since we were five years old, is afraid of shots but she recently got shingles and was in so much pain and misery she was so sorry she did not get the vaccine. Please get the vaccine. It was well worth it to me to pay for the vaccine as I was not at the age to be on Medicare yet. Thank God I have never had shingles.
I have went to the grocery only to come home to find a few items weren’t in the bags. I shop at Winn Dixie here in Bradenton so I called them and told them what was missing. She said to just bring my receipt in and they’ll replace the items. You might try calling Piggly Wiggly to see if they might do the same.
I don't mind a little bit of burnt on my taters. My dang eggs always have green. iI try to boil them like you do and put them in ice water. We like mustard in our eggs.
Dearest Tammy, I’m so glad to see you cooking❤. Your shingle’s must be a lot better 🙏. My Mom had them so bad she was down over 3 weeks and put on Percocet, a VERY, VERY STRONG pain medication. God bless you didn’t have that!! My 54 yr old daughter got them in January hers were inside her ear which then gave her Bells Palsy, which she’s had 2x before!! The first time caused by a Strep infection. The 2 by exposure to a child that got chicken pox. I’m just so glad yours weren’t too severe 💕🙏🙏
This may make some people say gross...but when I was young I had issues with mouth sores from a weird form of anemia. So my precious Momma fixed me soft food. I used to eat mashed potato sandwiches...and when Momma fried potatoes she always kept the ones that didn't brown for me. They make yummy sandwiches too. I was 10 when I got through with the mouth issues...but I still loved "tater" sandwiches...lol
