    A skipping side kick is a very hard kick to catch/block/evade. It is like the teep kick but with more force behind it. I've been using it in our Taekwondo sparring sessions, and it is quite effective, just be sure to do it as fast as you can.

    This reminds me of my friend, who is an avid wing Chun practitioner, and his encounter with an over confident taekwondo opponent. This random guy challenged him in a gymnasium like a movie and my friend defeated him very easily by staying in close range and stepping on his feet constantly. On that day it was Wing Chun 1...Taekwondo zero

    Very good tutorial. And I agree with you 100%. You do not want to step back. As that makes more room, for them to come in with kicks. As a master in taekwondo. I can tell you the worst thing an opponent can do. Is to back away from someone who is good with their feet.

  • @MrSupersaiyangoku
    @MrSupersaiyangoku 7 лет назад

    This video is very conditional based. As someone both trained in Taekwondo akd Karate styles. I can say at black belt levels they typically throw quick one two kicks. With the first being to bring your guard down or open. So you can't expect them to throw a one kick them you counter. Most martial arts teach you once you're proficient to throw three techniques at least.

    @danielhounshell2526 7 лет назад

    There are counters for that though, for example, once the kick misses you could do a slide step to get out of the puncher's range, and if they keep chasing you, you could throw a back kick or a side kick. Also, a lot of the counters you've shown here assume that a kicker is completely helpless at close range, which is usually not the case with TKD/Karate fighters, who are usually pretty decent with other types of strikes as well. It also assumes that they don't know how to counter a clinch, which is not always the case.

    When someone swings a kick at you never go back to try and Dodge the kick. Always step into the kick and get right next to them, that way you're able to throw the kicker off balance.
