    Fantastic teaching. The sort of video that makes you enthusiastic to learn. It's been so difficult to find an intuitive lesson on these traditional techniques that one could understand without previous sitar experience.

    I think that no sitarist has explained so beautifully all the important elements for playing sitar. One thing you have not experienced i.e. Single , Double and Choudoon. Thank you very much Sir.

    Really it is a very good technique. But may I request u to explain that, how can one know, that, while practicing Gamak, how much distance/length to be pulled on a fret to get the next note exactly.

    This is pure gold Sitar Sam and you make it so easy to follow the instructions. I have not seen anywhere else such comprehensive instruction on the mizrab just for one example. I would like to study with you in individual lessons. Is this possible ?

    Thank you very much.I am practising sitar. I would like to know , how to prepare the first two fingers of left hand to play smoothly and easily How to develop markings (cut due to wire ) ,so that the left hand runs effortlessly. Secondly, how to give strokes so that only first wire will give sound and not second SA wire.

    Very significant video for the beginners indeed. May i request you to please also narrate "in writing" which surs are you playing while rehearsing "paltas", especially when using combinations of 2+2, 2+3 and so on. This would facilitate beginners even more.

    Wonderful. Just one question.....Don't you think Sapat and Meend should be included in the sequence of daily riwaj?....also sparsha, kritan and jamjama at a later stage?

      Rather I would say sapat and gamak in stead of meend. Meend is the finest thing to practice and at very proficient stage. Other than that you must practice all the elements daily.

    Which is it better to practice -- chougun or aathgun?

      Practice slow and steady. Once things are properly done in slower speed then first try 4x then 8x speed. But first thing to do proper slowly.
