And so Stephen's trip along Metroid Road ends... for now. Hopefully it won't be too long before he gives Dread a try. I would be super excited to see him experience all that game has to offer.
(Of course, Zero Mission and Prime would be fun as well. It's up to him what he does.)

Fusion is hands down my favorite Metroid game. Most people don’t like how linear it is compared to Super but I love the way it tells its story and with the horror elements mixed, it’s such an excellent game.
Super metroid got better atmosphere 👌

So, fun fact: The SA-X can actually perform a purely horizontal Screw Attack, which Samus can never do. However, it has far less capability to use Samus's full arsenal at its maximum potential, which is implied to be part of its nature. It has never had to use anything besides brute force, so it cannot strategise properly and is outfoxed by any situation which does not require destruction to proceed.
It might be interesting to see Stephen tackle Zero Mission and Samus Returns BEFORE doing Prime. Basically, do both of the remakes of the first two games, then tackle the Prime games, then Dread, or possibly Samus Returns right before Dread since Dread borrows a lot of the mechanics found in Samus Returns. Not sure if Prime Hunters will be included in the mix because that game has issues (particularly for lefties like me), and Federation Force really should not be considered a Metroid game. There's also the pinball game but that's literally just a spin-off. And Other M. That's like, the one game I haven't touched because I haven't had time to do so yet.
The SA-X mutating into a horrible nightmare version of the frog thing that got Samus infected with the X parasite in the first place is such a cool touch
This series has been an enjoyable one to watch.

Thank you for covering the metroid series!!! It's one of the IPs I've never really known a whole lot about. And after these four games I can safely say it's not a series I would play myself, but at least I know more about the lore and gameplay :) Can't wait to see you continue it!!!
Loved watching you play through the series, can’t wait to see you discover the rest of it! Metroid is such a consistently fantastic series (besides THAT one) and I’m sure you’ll love dread whenever you get around to it.
Based on my surface-level knowledge of the series, "THAT one" can refer to two separate games. Maybe even three, depending on who you ask...

@@princephantom1294 From what I've seen, a rather noticeable number of people _really_ did not like Samus Returns, and are very adamant about the fan-made AM2R being a far better alternative.
@@ShycoWar I’ve played both and think they’re both great personally. I see the flaws with returns, but i still throughly enjoyed my time with it. I’ve played all 3 versions of Samus’ trip to SR-388, and they all have their own strengths and weaknesses that make them all worth playing imo.
Never having played any Metroids but the original and (briefly) Super, I didn't know how well the GBA one would stack up on the big screen, but it was impressive what they pulled off. Thanks for introducing me to it Stephen.

Adam Malkovich’s consciousness made it into Samus’ computer through the recovery of his helmet in Metroid: Other M. (We also see the sacrifice Samus references in the early dialogue with the computer.) The tipoff is the computer’s use of “Any objections, Lady?” in the order he gives Samus to crash the base into SR388.
Ironically the line about “would he order you to die while he sits in some control room” also happens in Other M, where Malkovich does precisely that! 😂
Such a special game. I enjoyed the streams when I could catch a glimpse of them, and I enjoyed the episodical format, which are better suited to my free time. Thanks for sharing!

Whoa! Your brute forcing paid off! That was clutch! 😃 The Metroid games have been one of your best solo outings. I enjoyed all the content. And it’s made a great distraction in the wake of Helene. Definitely think about more Metroid stuff next year.
Zero mission is such an improvement over the original that it feels like a completely different game

i did use rewinds but no save states, and a map at some points b/c i can’t remember everything, and i got 2:10 100%. So dang close.
If he continues to go in release order, Prime would be next so that is exciting
