    I love how you painted this scene! The soft and muted trees in the background and how you made the focal point tree larger. It's just beautiful!

    Maybe a bit late in the day, but I really appreciate your open and honest approach to sharing your, no doubt, hard won experience. All done with a reassuring modesty, and a natural determination to avoid being a 'you tube personality'. I wish you well.

      Thanks so much Patty! It's always a fine balance between being in control, but not trying to control every little aspect of the painting. A lifeong learning process.

    This is a particularly fun video to watch. There's a freeness and light hearted approach that is very appealing. Its kind of a study in loose control. Am closely watching your brushwork here that, at the early stages, is almost like super rich watercolor. Then the refinement is so lovely.and the late stages are again loose. So interesting and informative to watch thank you for this video.

    • @JasonTako

      Honestly, Richard can explain his approach better himself, which he did in his book Alla Prima. There is no way it can all be explained in a comment.

    Hello dear tako.first of all,I want to apologize for the incomplete message.I think you were not like always.for example,you did not have specific plan for the left side of the painting.you also seemed a little confused in choosing and making the colors.I saw all your works and enjoyed them all.thank you,I look forward to your next work.

    • @JasonTako
      @JasonTako  2 года назад +3

      Thank you for your further explanation. I'm not sure if you understand the process of plein air paintring or have any experience in plein air painting. As I've explained in a number of videos, I'm not trying to create a masterpiece, I'm merely just gathering color and value information-taking notes if youn will. When you have a maximum of two hours to complete a painting due to rapidly changing light, sitting there and coming up with a compoitional plan is not always possible, nor it is needed when you just want to gather information.
      As for being confused when selecting and making colors, this may have been the case as sometimes when you are painting from life nature throws things at you that you may not have experienced before, but I was there and in the end I acheived the colors that I saw.
      Thanks for watching and best wishes!

      The painting may not be good, I'll let each person determine that for themselves, but can you please share with me and explain exactly how I was confused?
