I get irony and subversive satire, but the comedy is so sparse in the conversation. Sometimes “anti-comedy” is “anti-funny” the people they are mocking are so much like this that it’s unnecessary.

I'm glad Tim brings out the most in the comments with people that take themselves too seriously, or think so highly of their intelligence. When really they're missing more than the joke.
Yeap, some people just don't have what it takes upstairs, well maybe a joint could help out. Reminds me of "Good Morning Vietnam" when the corny dooface Lieutenant thinks he is funny "Sir, in my heart, I know I am funny". It's actually harder for me to tell if Sam is getting it or if he is simply playing along for the sake of it. I'm new to Sam Seder but I heard he was comedian too but I can't find anything on his standup. His work with the aliens was good.
