My partner spotted the whiskey bottle with the Dekkar logo on it. This whole thing is a masterpiece, both as satire and as a rich, nuanced character study of a monster. Fred Armisen was titanic in the straight-man role. I don't know how you do all this excellent stuff, Tim, but keep doing all of it.
The passive-aggressive condescension and the constant "business" with the glasses and props is perfect; the only thing missing is the slow-motion, drugged-out obliviousness to the guests' answers after asking the questions - and the occasional, blanked-out moments of mournful resignation, hinting at roiling, dark oceans of regret and self-loathing.

A tip of the hat to "Peter" from Portlandia. Bravo Mr. Armisen, but stick to the movies! TV shows are not as good.
That’s basically Bill Maher’s generic guest
I saw it as a guest who politely tries to push back but halfway through realizes that the easiest way out is just to agree with everything he says
20:44 "sure, sure, sure" *shrugs*
Pretty much all of Maher's actor guests are like this, they avoid anything too controversial and Maher just comes across as a pushy asshole for trying to force another conversation about how bad the left is lmao.
"And what gives you the authority to have an opinion about that?"
That part kills me every time I watch this masterpiece.
tim was born with the natural yet uncanny ability to just impersonate any douchebag that has existed
Tim telling Fred, “ Let me just finish my thought” made me spit the water out of my mouth 🤣🤣🤣
Tim doesn't just act, he channels... Killed it doing Maher same as Rogan.
He oughta do more, these are gold
Channelling is indeed the perfect word to describe it!
That Rogan spoof was so, so good.
He did rogan spoof? Where can I find this

This guy fuckin gets it
we like our oceans dark, and roiling.
dont forget the slippery chair lol
@@SamuelFavata put it on my gravestone
I think you're reaching a little hard there for your political bias just to say "Bill is high".
I died when Tim reached over and put out a cigarette in Fred's glass
😅😂
I don't yet have the words for how incredibly well done this entire thing was; the absolute commitment to the bit is incredible. So well done that I wanted to turn it off while I'm drawing because Tim captured Bill so well & his arrogance towards everything, but it's such gold. I wish I could be a fly on the wall inside of the room that Bill was in whenever this was first brought to his attention.
"That's not funny. I wouldn't call that satire. I mean I love both of them and would love to have them come down to Club Random but that was really below their level of talent. I mean I don't really sit like that or try to play footsies. That's just silly but Tim was right on the wokeness going on. I really have to get him on the show." - Fly 🪰
No. I don't agree with the above fly. I think his first reaction would be totally dependent on whatever phase combinaion or not his head is in. Frankly I can't see him watching the whole 30 minutes. I say he gets bored with his narcisstic self in ten minutes. After a clove and a cocktail he'd be snoring. - psychic fly 🪰 (insomniac has to sleep)
"the audacity of this upstart pipsqueak to try to expose my brilliance and manliness and charisma as weakness or arrogance or narcissism. The smugness. The nerve of this guy." 🪰
The rant starting at 20:10 is just such a perfect Maher tendency to avoid actually engaging a guest's point and insult them based on his lack of understanding. Top notch observation and impression by Tim, and Fred nails the uncomfortable guest body language
Leave it at 68. My fav number. It's all about I get mine, and I owe you one. Wayyyy better than 69.
This is incredible! The arrogance, gesturing and body language is so on point from Tim. I just love how uncomfortable Fred looks the entire time, and just talking along and agreeing like when you’re having a discussion with someone’s drunk dad! 😂 10/10
Bill Maher's going to see this and not get that it's satire. He's going to think it's a real podcast that copied his show.
That’s hilarious (Rogan too)
This is one of the best impressions I've ever seen of anyone. Tim captured Bill's mannerisms and spirit so completely.
Is Tim working with an outline? Like he hit every single trope and classic line from Bill. Was this all from memory? Did he watch two straight days of the show?? Sooooo good. Just so very good. 😂😂😂😂😂
It feels like he watched way too much Club Random in disbelief and gifted us this treasure.
Remember this is the same crazy bastard who staged a multi-day criminal trial and played out every second of it. For his cinema podcast. This is Tim in his element and I love it.😂 But you're right, it's incredible watching him pull it off, reminds me of Robin Williams at his improv peak but it's a whole different energy...
@@NB-gu9rs okay how do I find THAT????!!!
@@NB-gu9rsI watched that a couple days ago. Absolutely brilliant. Then I started watching the real life version in Darrell Brook's trial. The similarities are wild.

I started crying at 16:49.. Tim kicks his foot and a random floor cup. BIG man-spreading energy. + open mouth ice crunching!
Me too. I was cracking up during that part. Poor Fred didn’t have a place to put his feet.
Fred almost broke
Lmaooo
Tim is such a great actor. The posture alone of Maher and Rogan is so hilariously accurate. Fred really embodied the energy of the verbally trampled/fatigued guest. The only thing missing is a condescending petname for Fred, like honey or sweetheart
hahahah i was waiting for him to drop a 'honey' or 'sweetheart' too!
The different sofa covers lol
No resemblance to Rogan at all...but Maher 100%
Rogan is way more professional and attentive than Maher but, Tim also satirized him very well on a similar video concept last year.
@@popotade4621 Which video!! I want to see
He even has the lightbulb poking out above the lampshade 😂
Tiny details
There are no small parts only small lightbulbs
Genius catch
16:46 Tim taking all the leg room and Fred trying to keep a straight face lol
Tim is so good! Nailed it with the nonstop interruptions and nostalgia - Fred is a perfect guest for this too.
"I wanted to be a good Fester and just do my best". Fred is so great in this.
I'm really happy that Tim let Fred speak so much.
He really nailed so many of Bill's mannerisms and the subtle kinds of things he does on the podcast. Incredible job!
This is absolutely brilliant. All my complaints about Maher are shown here. Nothing shows I’m listening to your guest like fumbling around a table looking for a lighter to light your spliff. This is FANTASTIC
I love that every utterance from Fred is an unwelcome disruption to Tim's impeccable stream of consciousness
I love that the commercials feel like a hostage video
lol 😂😂😂
Hahaha seriously
This was AMAZING. The weird camera angles, cutting Fred off, everything Tim did and said was spot on and hilarious. I kept laughing out loud.
He's amazing
I almost died when Tim took Freds footspace lmfao pretty sure Fred used all of his strength to not laugh
Truly a LOL moment. Great channeling here by Tim.
Lol 💯
Read this and am just waiting for it now lol!
i think the editing does a great job of hiding how many times they probably both lost it, and i want those outtakes
@@domoreok😂😂😂😂
How did they do this and keep it together? When Tim stretches out his legs and Fred has to move out of the way and sit awkwardly, I was literally crying from laughter.
"Now this isn't the Adam's Family...this is...what"
the emphasis on the "what" is masterful. Tim's still got it
Tim nails the completely unprepared, uninformed, and uncomfortable atmosphere of Bill Maher’s podcast. 😂
What I love about Mr Armisen is he can talk to people from all walks of life and share his intelligence without sounding condescending.
He stands on his own shoulders, the shoulder of giants.
lighting up a fat "clove" and drinking along with you Tim. All the best to Fredrick and his fighting the good fight with Portlandia and shit
"The idea of George Carlin ever getting cancelled makes my stomach sick." 🤣😂🤣 That was a deep cut.
SPOT ON. Every nuance, every mannerism, every overly hostile take. Chefs kiss.
Even the lamp which doesn't have the right size lampshade on it
The honesty, candidness, and respect for each other in this conversation is amazing- Society NEEDS TO LEARN THIS again…
I love how devoted Tim is to speaking over every single thing that Fred says
It's truly magnificent!
The random weird camera angles are so spot on and hilarious
You know it’s good when you watch this whole thing, immediately start watching a Club Random episode, and you feel like Bill Maher is doing an impression of Tim from the Club Random spoof 😂
@aguzman11189 my dad is a boomer and LOVES Bill and wants me to come into the living room and watch some section on his HBO show... every single time its the smuggiest cringiest most obvious takes on the world.. Ive told my dad this and he responded with "im not a bill maherist you know"... me and my mom have used that as a joke for years now. I HATE shows that just dump on trump as if anyone fucking cares after a while
@@dizzle6709yah I agree with you about the trump thing(he sucks, everyone whose mentally stable knows this) however to give you some perspective, bill Maher was at one point actually good, witty, and had logical conversations that made sense. It’s like he’s from that movie Us, and is a totally different person. (Funny since Tim was in that movie)
@@TonyDanza4LyfeI strongly believe that Bill is the victim of a monkey's paw curse whereby he is slowly becoming everything he always hated most.

This was so random I wish there was a club for this!!! 🤣
Such a unique podcast. It reminds me a little of Club Random with Bill Mayor

I never watched this show and was getting angry organically at first before realizing its satire
As a long time listener to club random, this is absolutely chef’s kiss. So many nuances that show how well Tim did his homework and Fred is absolutely perfect as the guest who’s increasing having to listen to Maher’s old man drunken ranting
don’t out yourself as a long time club random listener lol 😬
There's gotta be a blooper reel for this, ain't no way they didn't crack up at some point
I guarantee this is just one live improv for an hour. Tim and Fred can just read eachother so well.
Haha the fact that this is free content is amazing. Tim is a true saint of comedy. Fred too, of course. But man for them to get together and do this is a hilarious jab and commentary. Tim has been a constant source of joy, comedy, and music since he broke through. I love that they can get together and just shit something like this out haha, it's the best.

I probably watched this 30 times already. I also really enjoyed the Jay Weingarten episode.
I refuse to believe there isn’t hours of outtakes from this. I NEED to see them. this is so god damn funny 😂😂😂😂
This reminds me of that one guy everyone meets in college where you just happened to bring up a topic that they disagree with and they won't let it drop until you say you agree with them. And then afterwards you do everything possible to avoid them.
Actually now that I think about it my person was a woman who'd get offended that I didn't agree with the conspiracy theories she'd believed in and her counter point was always "I did my research, you didn't read what I have." 🤷
Unfortunately I was that guy in college. Some of us grow out of it...
This is the BEST long form impression of anything I’ve ever seen in my life
Tim has one parodying Joe Rogan too.
Also Shane Gillis did an amazing long-form Trump impression on KillTony (first time that shit has been funny in a while)
Tim is an incredibly underrated comedian. The guy applies his comedy in so many different ways. He's really skillfull.
