I was able to locate the colors listed in the video in the B pillar, and they are braded, but the color mismatch had me concerned.

  • @georgeabraham2524

    The one thing I did find out is you do not have to go to the "b" pillar to access the speaker wires . Just remove the glove box to access the Knee speaker wiring. Dark Green/Violet is the + positive and Dark Green/ Yellow is the - Negative.Now just get the solid Gray and white speaker wires from the HA10 and connect them to the + speaker wire and do the same with the Negative wires and you are done . No need to connect 4 speaker wires as shown here because the HS10 is a MONO product so it only needs to be connected to only one pair of wires .

    • @trailseven
      @trailseven  Год назад +1

      When you’re connecting to a stock head unit and using the B-pillar, you won’t need to connect the remote wire. If you’re connecting to an aftermarket head unit with RCA’s, then the head units wiring harness should have a blue lead to splice in to.
      Watch our JK Hideaway install video where we tie into an aftermarket head unit. That video will show you the RCA connections as well as the blue remote wire connection.

    I did not see a remote wire ran to cause the amp to power on?

    Do we need a remote wire?
    Surely the amp isn't powdered on the entire time?

    • @trailseven
      @trailseven  Год назад +2

      When connecting using the stock head unit, the amp/sub is receiving its signal from the speaker wire which is also the “on” trigger. You will not connect the blue amp turn on wire. And no, the amp is not on the entire time.

    It's not your fault, but I did something wrong, or this sub can't handle a lot of bass. I compared the sound with my JT to my wife's JL. We both have a 10" sub. Hers is in a box, and we'll you know what mine is. When playing Cloud of Dust by Low Cash her's sounds great all the way through. Mine only hits about 10% of the base in the song. I know you don't know her setup exactly, but do you have tips to tune this one better?

      Not to be rude but this is somewhat of a dumb question. Larger diameter SUB with more amps vs a smaller diameter/enclosure kicker with less amps will obviously not produce the same output. In other words, you basically asked why putting a turbo on a inline 4 doesnt produce the same output as twin turbos on a v8. Totally different animals. Think about how a speaker works, and youll have your answer.
      Hell. To make it really simple, you asked why a smaller speaker produces less output when paired with less current than a larger speaker with more current. Its like asking why a monster truck has more clearance than a civic

      Yes the Red Wire will always be used since that is the main power wire for the amp. The Blue wire is the Remote On. The DC/12v is telling the amp internally to use the blue wire or not. So if the switch is set to DC,vim assuming it's triggering a circuit inside the amp to use the red wire power to turn on the amp.
