    First time Jeep owner. I just switched to Gladiator Willys Edition from a Tacoma TRD Pro. My kids begged me to switch. The night before I picked up the JT I had a wrench in my stomach. 2 hrs driving the JT with the top off and family smiles ear to ear, I dont even remember the Taco. This thing is Awesome! I need to learn, and your videos are absolutely awesome. Youre positive and focus on education. Thank you so much!

    My wife and I just got a 2020 Gladiator Rubicon. Dream come true for me. I’ve always been a Jeep guy and have converted my wife of 6 months to a Jeep girl. 😊 I’m somewhat of an amateur Jeepologist but didn’t know much about the Gladiator. Was just searching for info and found your video. I’m glad I did. I don’t comment much on here but wanted to let you know how much I appreciate your video and I hope your channel does well.

    I"m thoroughly enjoying my '21 Gladiator Overland. Whenever I feel like I've been affected by seeing too many of the negative articles or media posts on the Gladiator, I come back to this video to reappreciate the engineering and thought that has gone into this vehicle. Bottom line is, the truck does everything we ask of it and it brings a lot of joy to my family and I while driving it. Thanks for sharing all of these observations and the Jeep history. Keep on truckin' !

    Thanks for this informative video. Forget the critics for they know not what they speak. As a first time Jeep owner, the Gladiator has proven to be an awesome vehicle. After reading the manual the information provided in this video provided much more about the reasoning behind the engineering of this vehicle than the manuals ever could. As a novice owner, your efforts to provide quality and easy to understand information is greatly appreciated.

    I have had my JT Sport S since Oct. I love it. It has been the perfect build platform for my needs. I have added Mopar 2in lift and larger OEM Rubicon wheels and tires. A winch, some lighting. The fact that I can add ARB air locker some day in the future is a great benefit. I always wanted a jeep but needed some towing capability, I have a boat, so always needed a different vehicle. Jumped at the JT as the whole package. Thanks for pointing out these features that I had not found. I really like being educated on my vehicle and now I have those little items to pass on to people who are interested.

    Just got my JTR a week ago and love it! It's tough to find videos that aren't talking about the same old thing over and over again. You taught me several things I didn't know right out of the gate! The secret air intake and the tuned exhaust. Great info. Your approach to the details is very refreshing. More fact based and objective, instead of just saying "this is badass" or "this sucks" like some of the other people.

      I want a mojave with max tow package which gives 1600 lb payload but it is not offered, its either that or I will just run payload over by 150-250 lbs on the mojave when packing for camping towing the 17 ft travel trailer, pretty common, I do it with my tacoma when going camping. I plan on having a full time at overland summit shell with wedge sleeper on top of a mojave. Thats 340 lbs wt for camper shell. I don't want to give up the reinforced mojave frame, and settle for the sport s. I think that reinforced frame is super important for towing especially offroad.

    I like the information that you went over in this video, lots of little things that I haven't had time to look at yet or even think about yet. So far I am loving my 2022 Rubicon, it handles long trips much better than any other jeep that I have ever driven, for where I live this is the right truck for me. I have done a few mods to my jeep so far but the one that really made a big difference was raising the front of the drivers seat. Makes is more like a recliner and I don't feel like I am sliding forward any more. I am 6' 1" and went with the 1 1/4" lift.

    Note, the grill hole for air intake on a gladiator, when driving in a snow storm WILL ice up and caise your glady to get real slow on the highway, chokes off the air supply significantly.
    No joke, the first bend in the tube feom the grill as it goes back clogs up with ice and snow, bad design. Only when driving during falling snow or ice storms.

    Love my JTR! Been wanting a “wrangler truck” for years! Had a couple older wranglers but his one is the best Jeep I’ve owned so far. Got mines in November and got almost 6k miles on it, 10% of that on trials and it’s performed great. Haven’t done nasty trials or hard core rock crawling, but so far on dirt trails/atv trails/hunting/forestry trails, it’s been great even with stock suspension and wheels/tires.
    And yes you’re right about capabilities. Like any other Jeep, depending what you’re looking to do, with the right upgrades, a JT will hang with any wrangler. Look at WAYALIFE and his JTR, it can do any trail any of the jks or jls can do. And story till now, his JTR can hang with or even outperform his buddies older wranglers.

    I bought a Jeep (2018 wrangler) and it was defective from day one.. It has the PCM right on top of that 'french horn' exhaust
    and the PCM suffers frequently from heat breakdown and causes many issues over time
    I think they need an air unlet on the driver side too.. and a fan for the PCM or move it out from above the exhaust.

    Great information. I've been thinking about getting this truck. I do lot of overlanding, my only real concern is will the truck go places the JK or JL can go, such as turn around in tight locations? Everyone I talk to say no way. What are your thoughts? How does the truck compare to the JL?

    • @c130aviator

      The one area that concerns me most is the hitch. I have had a lifted Dodge Dakota that I took through Colorado on rough trails that impressed everyone there. They laughed in excitement over the ability of that Dakota 4 door. Its long but you can take different lines to make it through. Its probably a bit more work but if you want to wheel it, it will do an awesome Job with the solid front axle. There is no other truck like it on the road. Its part Wrangler part truck.

      The JT will go 90% of the places a Wrangler can go. At least one stock JTR completed the Rubicon trail, and a stock Overland JT completed MOAB. Can't complain about that.

    Hello there my name is garry fritz live in Midland Michigan. I was just wondering if you are familiar with the TJ and now I have a JL sports three motors in my TJ. Complete front end twice JL has a ton of problems. Electrical problems
    where the dealership has had it for two months and more you should do a special on changing spark plugs on a 3.6 JL. a fantastic trip.

    So you’re saying remove the clip that securely holds down the battery…. How are you going to get a larger battery from moving around when your bouncing around off-road ? Or am I missing something

    • @BlueCollarBachelor

      The clip close to the fender is the hold down, the other clip in the front is a spacer.

    Will the remote start still work if you disconnect the hood sensor to defeat the auto start?

  • @sroodtuo

    NIce, informative video - Thanks! What programmer do you use to defeat the stop/start? Does that same programmer allow you to adjust for tire size? I’m really looking forward to becoming a first time Jeep owner as soon as they drop the 3D in the Gladiator.

      TewlTalk Sweet! I’m hoping, once I have a physical vehicle in hand, to find a way to reverse the operation of the start/stop switch. That may take physical modification but we shall see. The hope is to be able to push the button to enable auto start/stop instead of the other way around.

      Tazer mini worked great for me. Hate the cost but I was able to change my tire size in the CPU to get back some mpg and have the trans shift correctly. You can also disable the stop/start and other functions as well. Check it out

    You said the rubicon could fit 37s with some bump stops. Are the axels in the rubi strong enough with no mods to support 37s?

    • @c130aviator
      @c130aviator  4 года назад +2

      Yes, you will be fine on 37s and light wheeling. i have seen a rubi snap rear shafts on 37s with a hard dig. Axle shafts will be needed for heavy off road use.

    The 2020 and 2021 Jeep Gladiators all models are developing leaking axle seals on primarily the rear drivers side. Jeep knows this and are replacing the axles under warrenty. There is a good chance that a recall is coming soon.

    4:00 My 1990 Dodge Daytona ES with 3.0 liter V6 also had length-compensated exhaust downpipes and for the same reason. I haven't paid that much attention to the other V6 engines I've had, but this doesn't surprise me. I'd actually be surprised if they *weren't* length-compensated. Engines run better this way and consumers notice... Why *wouldn't* a manufacturer want to improve performance this way? But I can't speak much from experience: majority of my cars were 4-cylinders...

    Shit, now I want a gladiator lol. In your opinion, is it Rubicon or nothing ? Or would some of the more affordable trim levels still offer as much confidence for daily driving and weekend camping trips ?

    • @teamrivasracing
      @teamrivasracing 4 года назад +8

      I bought a Gladiator Sport S with tow package. I got the lower trim because I didn’t want a fancy interior fabric or painted top that would get messed up with doors/tops off while camping/off-roading. I also didn’t care for the front locker. Don’t really ever need it in my use cases. The Max Tow pkg gets you the upgrading cooling and axles/gearing you would like. Also bought a full Rubicon suspension (shocks, springs, arms, links etc.) for $200. The Rubicon guys are quite regularly driving em off lots and right to the shop for new lifts and stuff. They just give that stuff away! I’m happy with my JT and saved myself $12000+.... but BOTTOM LINE.... Any Jeep is a GOOD JEEP!

    • @c130aviator
      @c130aviator  4 года назад +5

      I bought the sport. You get the rubi if you don't want to mess with the axles. Get the sport and arb lockers. It will be stronger and cheaper than a Rubicon. The sport and the rubicon both have dana 44 front and rear with 32 spline shafts.
