I just bought my 2020 jeep gladiator from Jeep Dealer . I love it. Love it love it. I have no power windows. Power locks . 😊thumbs up. It came with a lift with 35s. Tires . And it’s awesome.
Being a mechanic myself, it's great to have a fellow wrench explain and point out all the characteristics under the truck. You explain everything in reasonable detail without boring the viewer. Well done brother! You're helping me with my research before I purchase.
Thanks for your mechanics point of view. Just traded my Ram 1500 on a 22 Gladiator Altitude. So far very impressed, especially with leg room. Thanks for sharing!
Took a few test drives, really like the truck but would rather have the extra bed space than the two extra doors. I'll just wait for a used one if they won't bother to build the truck 1/5 of their customers want. Thanks for the video! The passenger side exhaust loop is to tune exhaust pulses. Something especially important for v6 engines and actually reduces back pressure.
There’s no difference in how much they both stick out! It probably has more to do with the DOT regulations about lighting placements and distances. Like even the older step-sides had the taillights hanging off the sides of the tailgates.
2.5 hours for a spark plug service but still 9/10 for serviceability. ...just shows how far engineers have gone from making it easy to work on your own car. I wish I never sold my old XJ!
Very nice video with a lot of information along with views of every nook and cranny. Now here I am in 2024, with a new 2024 Sport S, that’s very similar, a different grill, without the plastic filler between the bumper and fender. Plus more open space in the grill to help cooling. Also time has proven that aluminum steering box has been troublesome and replaced with cast iron like mine. I have every option that one has, but tow hitch and auxiliary switches didn’t come, but was marked down from msrp of $52k to $37,800! But I do have heated seats and steering wheel, auto climate control, ACC, adaptive cruise control, plus cross traffic notification and auto stop. The other slight difference is 17” dark grey alloy wheels that actually match the Chrystal Granite Metallic Paint. Plus hard top and automatic trans. One item I miss is limited slip rear differential. But like I said it’s how I found it marked down and I’m not a hard core off road driver and love the nice ride the 245/75-17 tires like on the one you had. I’m disappointed with the halogen headlights and fog lights, but every other are LED’s, so I plan on changing the bulbs. I’m not sure if the 2020 have this other great feature you did not show, that is the rear seat back that also folds down, that also locks in the up closed position with the key, that we use for security storage. I’m getting 17-18 mpg around town, depending upon how many lights and traffic is moving, but as high as 26 mpg at 55 mph to 60 mph on flat ground. But go 65-70 it drops to 24, at 75 goes to 22. Haven’t had it over 75, but do believe that mileage will be less than 21-20! Like every vehicle I’ve driven I get better mileage without Cruise Control, by just feathering the gas pedal just enough to maintain speed, that helps keep from downshifting, however In traffic the auto cruise control is great, just set the distance and relax, the only problem is you can’t set the space close enough to keep aggressive drivers from diving into the space, that sends the system to hammer the brakes! But if traffic is normal stop and go, the system will bring you to a complete stop, about 25-50’ depending how long you set it, then will automatically take off as traffic moves, unless you’re stopped for longer than 5 sec, then you must push the resume button and then it will take off at a reasonable quickness up to the set speed or 25’ from the vehicle in front. We drove up into Orlando on Rt4 the other day, a full 12 miles without touching anything pedals! I touch back in a year with an update, 1,280 miles so far with no issues at all. Oh one more thing, the new 12.3” touch screen and voice control Apple Car Play is amazing, very complicated and still learning everything it can do. But disappointed in the sound quality of the 8 speaker mid upgrade.
This so best film I've watched about the Gladiator, or any vehicle for that matter. Sho nuff, Jeep fans will not be buying the Gladiator as a status symbol. Two dislikes I have are: 1. There is only seating for five which is unfortunate as there are six of us in the family for the foreseeable future. 2: Almost $45,000.00 for a mid-range model? Chevrolet and Ford is charging around that price for their full-sizs, mid-range, Pick-ups, and the almost $45,000.00 for the Silverado is the new 4-cylinder model....sheeesh! Chrysler needs to simplify the Jeep line again with just the Gladiator, Wrangler, and Grand Cherokee. I'd like to see a full-sized Jeep pick-up again like the old J-10/J-20.
Donald Hollums Unfortunately for you this or any mid size truck may not fit your needs. I cross shopped this truck with 4x4 Ford Rangers, Chevy Colorado’s, Toyota Tacomas and the price is pretty even. Midsize trucks fetch a hefty price in today’s market and one would be foolish to cross shop with full size truck. We just got a Gladiator and I am about 6ft 245lbs and I fit comfortably in the back of the JT, and the previous JK too. No you won’t get 6 in the Gladiator but you won’t get 6 in my F150 either. It only has seatbelts for 5. As for status symbol I’m not sure what cars meet that criteria these days. The JT does draw a lot of attention but it’s new so that’s expected.
Looked at almost the exact same one and was very close to buying it until I looked at the f150. I told the dealer I was looking at these and I wanted to stay in the 45k price range. They showed me a truck that was 57k and said I can get you into this for 45k. Loaded to the gills xlt with the motor that I wanted.
Nice review! Just traded my JKU in for a Gladiator Rubicon with sticker price $48,880. For the upgrades alone it’s definitely worth the 4K. I miss the available engine space that the JK offered. But for the life of me I cannot understand stand why Chrysler runs the exhaust line directly below the transmission oil pan. Gladiator looks as if there maybe some extra space to remove the screws when the pan rots from the inside out. I’m 6’3” and 270 and had no issues with my YJ or Jk. But I couldn’t agree with you more about the arm placement in the JK on the door and center console.
The same year as this video I bought a Toyota Tacoma TRD Offroad package for $36,000. I could sell that truck today for more than I paid for it. Plus it's a much better value than any Gladiator hands down.
@@jasonmolihan61 Can you believe the Tacoma pickup is rated only average for reliability by Consumer Reports? Not only that, but this truck is also only sixth out of nine in the overall rankings. Does that sound like the right pickup for you to drive?
The Toyota Tacoma Reliability Rating is 3.5 out of 5.0, which ranks it 7th out of 7 for midsize trucks. The average annual repair cost is $478 which means it has lower than average ownership costs.
Love the jeep, we own a JL. Honestly though I'm 6'1" and do not think there is enough front leg room. Aside from the vague steering, that's my only complaint. Thanks for sharing.
Very nice, was considering this when replacing my 06 Dakota, but I went with a Ram 1500 Tradesman Classic cause it was a better buy for the price, I do miss the size of a midsize sometimes though, but it’s no big deal.
Love this video man. I know exactly what u mean. I’m 6’3 and tried to get a wrangler as my first vehicle. Test drove a stick and kept hitting my knees in the dash if I was careful when shifting.
Very informative walk-through. At 9:50 of the video you mention the downside of the EGR cooler. Could explain why that is a negative vs. the previous Pentastar 3.6?

I got the gorilla glass upgrade on my rubi gladiator and my friend has a sport one, a rock about the size of a quarter hit mine and cracked it but when a similar one hit his it punched a tiny hole with a huge chip on the front and a big hair line crack from the driver side top corner to the middle bottom of the window I don’t think it’s a massive difference but definitely extra durable

For the $2k saved by getting the manual. You are closer to getting a base Rubicon compared to how optioned out most trucks are at dealerships. I don't know why anyone would get a Sport S with $10k in options, when the Rubicon package adds a lot standard plus the bigger locking axles. I see many dealer ordered trucks with the most overpriced options like the $200 trail recovery kit which is a pair of gloves, a shackle and tow strap. Many trucks here in AZ have the all weather slush mats added to the base Sports. Just ridiculous.
Currently have a 2020 gladiator contemplating transferring into a diesel. I tow a camper in the summer and do a lot of highway driving. Not going to lie the 500$ oil change is scary but would it be worth considering or just standing pat?
The engine itself isn't a pos....it's actually a great engine. They just needed to figure out why the rocker arms fail at times and the issue with certain heads causing the P0306 etc...
I am the same height but having problems with head room and need about 2" more of headroom and the cock pit seems way tighter then my old cj, tj, and my current 2012 jku. Had the same problem getting to in pre 2012 Jku's until they changed something in the interior design. Any solution for getting more headroom without voiding warranty from mods? Cobreau seat package is what I am leaning towards but have to buy it and get it insulted just test drive a gladiator.

The engine itself isn't a pos....it's actually a great engine. They just needed to figure out why the rocker arms fail at times and the issue with certain heads causing the P0306 etc...
Excellent Video!
The Saxaphones at 10:54. 😆
How tall is it?
Is that the Waco dam...
Nope that one is just outside of Lockington

What's the deal with having 3 mufflers
Interesting review.
I stopped cut off after you sat in jeep point, the noise music sound,
Interfers with watching and listening to you.
May come back to see your reviews if you cut off the noise.
Yes I understand about the music and don’t do this again in any videos like this
Where is the oil filter?
On top in a cartridge just like previous 3.6L engines
I would like to know your recommendations for lockers for the Sport unit? Go with the Rubicon e lockers, Harrop Eaton elocker, Auburn ected max locker, or ARB air lockers? Gearing for tires?
Will come complete with Chrysler electrical Ghosts lol
