Great review! Bought a black 2024 Mojave X about a week ago and immediately drove it to a detail specialist for paint color correction and polish, full PPF wrap, ceramic coating, window tinting, color matching the door/hood hinges and hood scoop grill to the orange and I can’t wait to have it as my everyday driver!
Good 4k mile follow up. I bought a Sting Gray Mojave back in Jan 21. I got the all black wheels with faulken all terrain tires. I love this truck, just got 3k miles on it. I have owned a LOT of vehicles over the years. This is my first Jeep and I can say I am very happy and wish I paid more attention to Jeep in my younger years, lol. I love the Mojave and really don't know if there is anything I don't like. One thing I say to people is make sure you know what your getting before you buy it (ie bed length , tow capacity etc). It looks big in my opinion so I think people just assume it’s a full size pickup and that it can do full-size pickup things, and that just isn’t always true. Especially when it comes to towing and payload. In my opinion the Mojave is 70% Truck 30% Toy, which I don’t have a problem with :)
@@changinggearsmedia Exactly. I did weeks or research and realized if I bought a "truck" like a Toyo Tacoma (great truck don't get e wrong) or the like it was mostly sit and just be used as a truck. The Mojave has the max tow package by default, that's the big fans etc. The capacity is hurt by the suspension and even further by a manual gearbox. You might wanna brush up on the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act too. You do a pretty good job at reviewing. Good luck on your YT career.

Great review!!! I guess I’ll wait another year when the v8 is an option on the gladiator across the board and get one. “Fingers cross” 🤞🏻they do that….
MOPAR makes a electronic brake controller replacement module for the 12v cigarette lighter. Also, 7,000lb towing with the Rubicon. My 2020 fully optioned Rubi came with the rims shown in this video, they really are not that bad, I figured a replacement will happen with new tires. If you're building a mall-crawler, you'll never use the fwd facing cam, it's speed limited. Buy and install a high-mounted rear facing camera. When your tailgate is down your rear cam is useless. Now all I need is the $20k for a Hellcat swap - ha! Or is it a Demon swap now? 1000HP is needed for crawling...
What part of Minnesota are you from? I’m an hour north of the cities, I bought same color Mojave as you and friend of mine bought blue version Mojave. It would be cool to get a pack of Mojave’s together and do a trail video! Thanks for starting local channel.
You'll be sorry you purchased a Gladiator! I have a 2020 Jeep Gladiator Overland and my wife had an accident with it back in November 2021 and the front differential was damaged so now it has been sitting at the dealer from then because the dealer can't get part's to repair it so if anything ever happens to your Gladiator and it needs parts you'll never get it back. My dealer has no idea when he will ever be able to get the part's to repair my truck so i'm making $600 a month payments on a paper weight!

62,000 miles on my 2021 JT Mojave. It has been flawless. Incredible ride. My daily driver. 3.6 Pentastar, automatic, with the AWD optioned transfer case. Used in the desert, snow season, and daily. Jeep has come a long way in a couple decades. Premium now, actually. But getting overpriced for many. Wake up time for Stellantis. Bring back a cheap Jeep. Please.
Definitely too soon to slap a 392 V8 on the gladiator due to the 100 years the wrangler waited lol but maybe a V6 turbo option to push 380-400 hp so it doesn’t feel sluggish?
I have to find a manual diesel gladiator. When building your own on jeeps website, it will not let you select the diesel and manual so i dont think that is an option. I would get a manual diesel any day of the week.
You spoke about the sound deadener on the roof. On the hwy does it really make a massive difference and can you actually have a normal volume conversation? Hard to tell from video. Thanks.
It’s a whole hearted yes. It’s seriously one of my favorite and worthwhile options on my Jeep. I can easily have a quiet conversation going down the highway.
Good review, but why get a rock crawler over the Mojave? I didn’t. I bought a Gladiator Rubicon because I wanted front locking differentials along with rear, not necessarily a “rock crawler”. That’s why I did it. In South Louisiana we have some real swampy muddy areas where I hunt and I just wanted that extra umph if I need it. But to each their own. Still, a nice video you made.
Nemadji State Forrest had some fun trails. Pretty low difficulty, no obstacles bigger than a foot or so. You can take the Gandy Dancer Trail there from Taylor’s Falls. For more serious stuff I’d go to the OHV park in Appleton, MN. Unfortunately there are no great natural trails in MN like you see out west.
Not amazing, but manageable. When adults sit back there, there is plenty of legroom for normal size humans. We have a rear facing infant seat and the front sit does need to be slid slightly forward to fit it. It’s not a big deal to us and is easily manageable. However the only reason I’m not lifting my Jeep is because lifting the car seat in and out becomes exponentially harder!
Any tips on keeping the fenders from fading? 2020 and it gets detailed by me but the plastic fenders are already getting sun UV waves in them now which i have never had with such a new vehicle

Have you noticed the heater not melting ice from the windshield like the TFL guys?? They say it only melted and kept clear the center of the windshield.
Regarding the headliner, for the ridiculous price jeep charges, you’d be better served to spend the same-ish $ on the hotheads headliner setup. Better quality and can cover the rear side windows for a bit extra. My rubicon jku came with the headliner option and while ok, it was waaaaaaay overpriced for what you get.
I mean it’s a Jeep, so it wanders more than probably anything else on the road :) If your a Jeep guy, I’ll say it wanders a lot less than the wranglers of the past, but if this is your first one, you may find it quite “wander-y” at first, but should get used to it. I don’t even notice it anymore. The Mojave wanders less than the rubicon or base trim levels due to the massive suspension overhaul, but it’s still there.
@@changinggearsmedia Awesome! I have a 15 Wrangler Unlimited, and I think it’s fine. Wander a bit? Maybe. But it wasn’t built to handle like a Porsche. I just wanted to see if it was something people complained about outside of the normal “Jeep” handling. Excellent review! I’m considering getting a new Jeep and the Mojave is the one I’m considering. 😃
Great question! I am well versed in this. Both fit. A rear facing infant seat is tight and you may have to move the front seat up an inch or two. Otherwise all was well and I had minimal issues!
@@elrev07 she might have a hard time getting the car seat in there. The Mojave sits higher than the other gladiators. And the seat bottoms are kind of high. My fiancé is 5’4” and she complained a bit, but was doable. Maybe swap the rock rails for a step :)
21 Mojave, my front Fox shocks are being replaced under warranty terrible creaking sound. Made in China. Fox shocks also require maintenance depending on usage. Disappointed, about a 8000 dollar claim in Canada. Well done review.
Pretty good! We drove this one for 10,000 miles and had no complaints! Definitely better than Rubicon due to the advanced suspension. And all gladiators daily drive better than wranglers in our opinion.

Hi Jay! I have been following you since I got my Mojave last Saturday. Still learning all of the features and you have helped me a lot. There is one thing I was wondering about. When the radio is on, you can see the clock at the top of the screen. When it off, there is nothing on the screen. No clock, no nothing. I feel there should be the time when the radio is off. My Wrangler had the time even if the radio was off. Somethings I will not take my phone when I go out. Other times, I like the silence. Am I going to have to turn on the radio every now and then just to get the time? Thanks in advance.
Hey Craig! Glad you’re enjoying the videos! Let us know if you’d like us to make some others on the Mojave. Admittedly we just had a baby and I have not been making any videos. In regards to your question i actually had to go out to mine and look, I always keep the screen on so I never noticed. I could not find a way to get the time in the gauge cluster so it does seem that if the screen is off you have no time. I know you can dim the screen if the brightness is what drives you to turn it off, maybe that’ll help? Best of luck and thanks again for the support

Looking for the day they build a single cab long bed v8 option.
best review yet. I just ordered the exact jeep lol.
Glad you liked it! I still love mine!
Great video
Just bought the same in a 2022, love it! I’d swap ya rock guards for the oem steps!
I just buy the same as yours this week same color same specs ❤❤❤
What part of Minnesota are you from? I’m an hour north of the cities, I bought same color Mojave as you and friend of mine bought blue version Mojave. It would be cool to get a pack of Mojave’s together and do a trail video! Thanks for starting local channel.
Love that idea! We are in the west metro!
If you haven’t already check out our last video! We do a little northern MN trail run!
You'll be sorry you purchased a Gladiator! I have a 2020 Jeep Gladiator Overland and my wife had an accident with it back
in November 2021 and the front differential was damaged so now it has been sitting at the dealer from then because the
dealer can't get part's to repair it so if anything ever happens to your Gladiator and it needs parts you'll never get it back.
My dealer has no idea when he will ever be able to get the part's to repair my truck so i'm making $600 a month payments
on a paper weight!
Sorry to hear that!
how's the situation now?
great review, thanks !
new subscriber for life. BTW, you have beautiful taste for music (Chris Stapleton + Bryan Martin)
Thank you! The funny thing is the first month this was up I fought a copyright claim from his label for having his music in the video haha
@@changinggearsmedia Man!!! I just checked Bryan Martin Beauty in the Struggle! boy was I lucky!!! you really have a good taste!!! I guess today is my lucky day. Found your channel first, then Bryan Martin. Keep up the good work
62,000 miles on my 2021 JT Mojave.
Please.
Great video! Sucks Diesel engine is not available for the Mojave trim in 22.
You can’t get the diesel on a manual. 8-speed auto only.
I love the manual transmition
Being able to take ruff off is cool.
Definitely too soon to slap a 392 V8 on the gladiator due to the 100 years the wrangler waited lol but maybe a V6 turbo option to push 380-400 hp so it doesn’t feel sluggish?
Great car's review. In Brazil we just have this car in Rubicon version. Success! Just adding a wish from Brazil "espero que o inter perca"
From whom did you get the headliner Mopar or Hotheads ….?
Factory from Mopar
9:58 WE SAW IT!!!!!!!!!
I have to find a manual diesel gladiator. When building your own on jeeps website, it will not let you select the diesel and manual so i dont think that is an option. I would get a manual diesel any day of the week.
I'm on a stick and in L.A.... ( yea, I know).... and I love the stop start system. I only turn it off when I'm off roading.
To each their own! I could see how it would be right for some people, especially where gas is $17 per gallon ;)
@@changinggearsmedia Your videos are amazing and inspirational and expensive.... you made me get a Mojave... please keep up the great work!
@@MrSKOHC haha this is the best comment we have gotten! We appreciate your support!
@@changinggearsmedia
Excellent.
Thanks
Good review, but why get a rock crawler over the Mojave? I didn’t. I bought a Gladiator Rubicon because I wanted front locking differentials along with rear, not necessarily a “rock crawler”. That’s why I did it. In South Louisiana we have some real swampy muddy areas where I hunt and I just wanted that extra umph if I need it. But to each their own. Still, a nice video you made.
Fair point! All the best to ya!
I just wish you could get the eco diesel in the Mojave.
Do you like the bolstered seats?
Very much!
Just watching this 2 years out. Does the auto trans have a tow/haul mode or does the 8 speed just not shift all the way out when towing?
what are some must ride trails in Minnesota we live in Rochester. thanks Mike
You can see some Nemadji trail videos towards the end of our first video!
I believe the desert hawk renegade has that desert rated badge
Im looking at getting a gladiator hows the leg room with the car seat in the back?
Not amazing, but manageable. When adults sit back there, there is plenty of legroom for normal size humans. We have a rear facing infant seat and the front sit does need to be slid slightly forward to fit it. It’s not a big deal to us and is easily manageable. However the only reason I’m not lifting my Jeep is because lifting the car seat in and out becomes exponentially harder!
Any tips on keeping the fenders from fading? 2020 and it gets detailed by me but the plastic fenders are already getting sun UV waves in them now which i have never had with such a new vehicle
It’s one of the knocks on the black fenders for sure. Other than trying to park it in a garage, you can buy some plastic restoration gels/ foams like the one here! Best of luck!
www.autozone.com/interior-detailing-and-car-care-products/protectant/p/meguiar-s-ultimate-black-plastic-restorer-liquid-12oz/164220_0_0?cmpid=LIA:US:EN:AD:NL:1000000:GEN:71700000069889792&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIsOb32pPe8QIVE3xvBB0uFg9lEAQYASABEgKHP_D_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds
Whats a ruffrack ?
Have you noticed the heater not melting ice from the windshield like the TFL guys?? They say it only melted and kept clear the center of the windshield.
I haven’t taken her through a winter yet so honestly I have no clue. But if I get an answer to this in 6 months, I’ll let you know!
Have you seen the video by Casey 250 who recently posted his sting grey hellcat mojave...over 800 hp lol
I see a lot of complaints about wander steering. Your thoughts?
@@aaronyoung6903 I don’t think you’ll regret it! I still love mine! Now at 9000 miles!
How about Carseats? I have a kid in a booster and a kid in an infant seat. Great review!
Great question! I am well versed in this. Both fit. A rear facing infant seat is tight and you may have to move the front seat up an inch or two. Otherwise all was well and I had minimal issues!
@@changinggearsmedia thanks! My wife is 5’2. See any issues there? I’d be downsizing from an F150
@@elrev07 she might have a hard time getting the car seat in there. The Mojave sits higher than the other gladiators. And the seat bottoms are kind of high. My fiancé is 5’4” and she complained a bit, but was doable. Maybe swap the rock rails for a step :)
@@changinggearsmedia oh it’d only be me. She has a 4Runner for her car. I’m more worried about her seating position.
@@elrev07 oh yeah then she’d be just fine!
I went to discount tire to buy 35’s/12.5 and they said that they would rub
21 Mojave, my front Fox shocks are being replaced under warranty terrible creaking sound. Made in China. Fox shocks also require maintenance depending on usage. Disappointed, about a 8000 dollar claim in Canada. Well done review.
How this one drives on roads? Like daily drive
Pretty good! We drove this one for 10,000 miles and had no complaints! Definitely better than Rubicon due to the advanced suspension. And all gladiators daily drive better than wranglers in our opinion.
@@changinggearsmedia thanks
Why can’t all trucks use tundras back window design? Get with it
are those tires stock
Yes, those are the stock tire and wheel
LOVE my Mojave! :D
Why did you sell it? What didn't you like?
It’s an amazing truck! But the market was too good for as little as I ended up driving it. Got an offer for what I paid for it new. On to better things!
I use the Curt bluetooth brake controller.
I was going to subscribe until you said you hate the Red Sox. Good vid though nice truck 👍
Haha thanks man, go Twins!
ME: left and came back You: Still reviewing the mojave
@@changinggearsmedia Hey Jay! Congratulations on the little one. I have the clock on the instrument panel now. Also, finally got my speedometer up. So for now, I have no complaints. Making other Mojave videos? I may be in touch. Thanks again.
.
Mojave or High Altitude? I don’t rock crawl at all. I do go off road though
Totally preference based. They’re both off-road capable, the High Altitude is more posh, comfy city cruiser. The Mojave is a more performance based trim, I think the Mojave looks better personally. But it’s hard to go wrong either way.
Very nice video! Thank you very much. Am the owner of a 2012 Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon. (Lived in Springville, Utah, so it had plenty of rock crawling---but not the exotic stuff--while living in Utah. I've been thinking of buying my wife a Gladiator. I was highly prone to wanting to buy her a Rubicon Gladiator, as I'm of the opinion that the Rubicon is "the best Wrangler." Your video, yes, this video I just watched, has convinced me that a Sport S package Gladiator, with appropriate options, of course, will work superbly and save us a good amount of money. We live on the Hawaiian Island of Molokai. Your video is THE video I'll show to my wife prior to flying the approximate 40 mile flight to Kahului, Maui next month for our twelfth anniversary. (We sold my wife's Grand Cherokee Overland diesel, a 2014 model, prior to moving from Springville to Molokai in March 2019. So it's now Debbie's "turn" to get the new car.) It'll be a Gladiator Sport S---thanks to your video! Thank you very much! Andy McKane, 20 October 2023, Maunaloa, Molokai, Hawaii.
3mo/4k miles is not really a "comprehensive review." While I realize that the JL is miles apart, in terms of reliability things can still go wrong beyond 4k miles.
Yes, I also realize, this was 2 years ago.
I wouldn't mind a purpose built Mojave with a supercharger.
Really like the Mojave & ended-up w/ a Rubicon JL. Only reason I chose the Wrangler instead of the Gladiator is that I already have a truck: Ford F-150. Good looking truck & color!
No Bluetooth?
It does have Bluetooth! Sorry we missed it in the video.
Things SHE did not say, "You dont lose alot in that 6 inches"
That’s a fact.
Nice review . I was torn between that and Gator. Obviously glad I went gator but you have a beautiful Jeep ! Any tricks to not getting wind noise in outside audio?
Appreciate it! I battled wind noise quite a bit in this video actually. I used a high pass filter when editing in Premier Pro to eliminate most of the wind noise. But you can put a “dead cat” on your microphone if you are using a shotgun mic plus I have GoPro media mod microphones on my gopros. But I think I may switch to a wireless lapel microphone to try to make it even better.
@@changinggearsmedia nice man thanks for the tips I’m thinking wireless might be the way to go
Why do mention the regear but not give the ratio?
you can NOT have 6speed with diesel only 8auto
leds should be standard
kinda blew the stop sign!
What stop sign?
