@MoneyPit Jku depends on the hull aluminum or fiberglass a fiberglass boat could weigh 3000+ pounds minus the trailer.. depends on the batteries u use also alot of the lead batteries for boats are 120 pounds for each one.. n alot of anglers has 3-4 so thats 500 pounds more... not including all the tackle n what not inside of it aswell so it could be upwards of 4000 plus pounds... rather have a diesel to tow anyways thats what they are used for in the beginning with good low end torque... and the gladiator looks ugly tbh atleast in my eyes but everyone is not me either lol i forgot about the motor n extra electronics for the boat that are added aswell... it all builds up
@MoneyPit Jku alot of bass pro's has lead batteries n are roughly 120 pounds n has 4 or u can go for the lighter option with is the lithium batteries which are about 60 pounds in weight... they prolly use the electronics and the trolling motor nonstop where u didnt... i do know tho that lunkerstv said his skeeter boat was 3400 pounds minus the tackle included... so idk if thats with the trailer or not... dont quote me on that either... so my numbers could honestly be vague n wrong actually lol people make mistakes afterall!
If you get one, it will be in your driveway....sitting there waiting for you to have it towed to be fixed when you can pony up the money. They don't call FIAT F ix I t A gain T ony for nothing!
Tony Salami all these fiat comments sound so ignorant. Fiat owns Jeep, yes but they don’t make, design or produce Jeeps anymore than Volkswagen does Bugatti. It’s just a financial thing. Companies buy out other companies all the time. If anything fiat probably steals from Jeep/dodge/ram more than the other way around.
Doesn't really look innovative! Bet fuel consumption is a bitch. Doesn't have a 2 door option. Just another plain old family once a year yuppie vacation vehicle and maybe still produced by fiat motors. It looks to be overhyped and slapped together using parts they already had in place.
Just bought a sport s with the hard top and auto trans. $38k. Equip any other midsize truck with a quad cab and 4 wheel drive and the gladiator is very competitively priced
@@BamaPewPew Did you get the premium audio option that price? I’m torn between a Gladiator Sport S and a Tacoma TRD Off Road. Both with a manual gearbox. My main issue with the Jeep is that there doesn’t seem to be a way to add a locking rear differential to that model. It has a limited slip, but I need a rear locker for what I plan to tackle. The Tacoma TRD comes with one as standard. Not only that, but I’ve heard mixed impressions with the 6-speed in the Gladiator, not that the Taco’s is much better since people seem to love it or hate it in the Toyota’s case. Another issue I have with the Gladdy is the tow rating. With the 6-speed it maxes at 4500 pounds. Granted that is fine with what I plan to tow (lawn mower and four wheeler, possibly kayaks later on down the road) but the Taco is rated at 6400 pounds with its manual. Honestly both trucks have the wrong engines for towing since the 3.5 GR and the 3.6 Pentastar both have no torque below 3000 RPMs (I’ve used both engines in different vehicles but I’ve only drove the Taco with a slush box and I hated it) I won’t be towing but once or twice a month so I’m fine with it. In addition... I’m horribly worried about the 3.6 Pentastar’s reliability. I work in parts and I’ve sold a metric crap ton of cooling system components for those engines over the past 8 years. By comparison, I rarely ever see issues with Toyota’s GR engines; they are pretty much bullet proof these days, even the older generation from the mid 00s seem to be trouble free for the most part.
@@OrtadragoonX I got the middle infotainment, 7 inch Uconnect. I have the limited slip, hard top, 8 speed auto and the popular equipment package that has the remote start. I couldn’t be happier with it. That first weekend I took the doors and roof off, it’s like nothing else around. Love it, as far as reliability, I got a 7 year 75,000 bumper to bumper warranty at that price. I hope it doesn’t break, but if it does I’m not going to be shelling out to fix it. I also think the Gladiator isn’t here to stay. In a decade or so I think these will be really desirable trucks
BigSh00ts I guess you don’t know me, nor seen my past videos... of course I’ll regear it, myself, in my garage... and teach RUclips viewers how to do it..
As for the dash screen buttons being backwards, they're not. Its like that on my 2018 charger. Think of it like a number list on a piece of paper. 1. 2. 3. And so on. You push the down button to go down the list.
I agree 100% - the steering wheel buttons work just like they should - arrow down to a numerically higher value, arrow up to a numerically lower value.
Glad someone else said this too lol. I'm an aircraft mechanic and scrolling through the computer displays is exactly the same. Definitely not wrong, it's supposed to be like that.
Right... My TJ and JK both had way less storage in the cabin not counting the obvious behind the rear seat storage. I don't know... this vid just kinda sucked overall. I was ready to hear real gripes. My man is griping about fuel economy, storage and off road prowess.... lol
No Jeep since the CJ was really designed to be minimalist. They've been trying to give the Wrangler as many creature comforts as possible, especially since the JK debuted.
First model year blues. This is Why I bought a JK over the JL. First model year cars have kinks that need to be identified and fixed. I will wait a couple years before considering trading up to a Gladiator.
@@pawpaw2524 Yep, same thing I was thinking when I got a JK over the JL. There's more crap that can possibly break. Jeeps aren't luxury vehicles. The JK (i think) is a great combination of modern conveniences without too much flashy upgrades to worry about.
@@thecleancaveman7770 Right on! I'm holding onto my JK as long as I can. Wranglers are becoming too fancy and will continue to as time progresses. It makes me sad
Truck Bed, the length isn't terrible compared to other small trucks, but it's lack of debt and tiny sidewalls doesn't help much. But a truck bed is a truck bed!
@@vulpixgrant What can one do with a 5.5-6' bed that one can't do with a 5' bed? Lock a 6' ladder under a tonneau cover? Use a cable lock. 2 dirtbikes fit in a Gladiator bed, just like a Subaru Baja's tinier bed. 8' beds aren't generally needed on a small truck if you can use some brain cells. The short depth makes it easier to reach into, especially after lift. For more space/payload, pull a trailer, or put long items on a sturdy roofrack. Harbor Freight offers a folding trailer with around 1800lb payload. It takes up about the same footprint in my garage/driveway as a naked motorcycle.
@@RKmndo - I wasn't talking about the length or even the width of the bed, but how tall the sidewalls are. Every pickup truck I've ever owned even the old 91 S-10 Chevy had much deeper beds. It's not a huge deal but it's more comforting knowing junk in the trunk won't blow out so easily. Personally I've owned 3/4 ton trucks to tiny ones, and I've found I like the short beds because they are so much easier to park in town.
I guess you guys didn't see the EVO Gladiator project. If you go up enough, put the right size tires on it and armor it up in the right places, it can be a beast of a rock crawler.
I didn’t think it got boring; I appreciate the “laymen’s explanation” because I’m learning all this stuff for an eventual purchase in a year. So thanks for that. And I’m glad to see I’m not alone in all this computer-controlled-safety stuff. At some point, I just don’t trust the car to drive itself. Also, that up/down control thing would drive me insane.
I agree that I hate auto engine stop feature, but not for oil pressure like you stated. The 3.6 engine calls for 0w20 synthetic oil. Synthetic clings to the engine more than well enough to provide instantaneous protection from a stop, especially when the engine is at temperature. I totally agree with hating the auto start stop, and it shouldn’t be a switch required after EVERY start, but oil protection should not be a concern.
The dash stat navigating number thing is definitely a preference thing. To me it makes more sense to have it as is because it’s a list going from top to bottom using analog controls to go up you push up and down for down and you are probably used to scrolling on a touch screen where you swipe down to scroll up and viceversa.
I was actually watching one of the Jeep gladiator reviews yesterday, and no one mentioned any of this other than the control switches and the room. Thanks for going a little more in depth and not doing a “cookie cutter” review
Great thing about buying a vehicle is that a person as you said can modify or add after market products to their vehicle. That's a good thing because when people see that there is a need for products that would improve performance. Someone comes along and creates it. The things we may see as negative can in turn be a positive outcome ( opportunity ) for someone else.
Ignition igniter. Same, till I replaced it - known problem. I'd have the manual if I got the Gladiator, so not sure if those have auto stop/start....Love the look of that Gladiator with those rims and tires! I'd stop right there with tire upgrades for beach off-roading locally.
They put foward collision warning in 18 wheelers years ago and ive had it lock the brakes up in snow and rain for no reason at all. Forward collision warning is dangerous and should be disabled
It’s not bullshit though.. Our company just got a fleet of 2019 Mack anthems with the forward collision warning systems. They get triggered by guard rails, mailboxes, and all sorts of objects. Not the best idea for something that can weigh 105k pounds fully loaded in bad weather
@@Sig721Tau if a semi is tailgating someone it's because they can't see them. Usually because that driver cut them off or moved over before getting past them enough to be seen
Had a 19 JLU as a rental when I was up in Maryland. My daily is a 18 WRX and holy smokes the steering feel on Wranglers felt so weird haha. Driving in DMV traffic at highway speeds was a white-knuckle experience 😂
Try driving a 2004 f250 , 4x4 diesel, solid axle pickup truck, then you will feel vague unresponsive steering! I test drove a gladiator a found the steering and ride to be quite an upgrade compare to that 18 year old truck.
I’m not seeing the problem with the buttons. You push down on the button and you go further down the list and you push up to go to the top. If anything, what you’re suggesting is the backwards way to do it.
My ZJ gets city 11.4 and highway 24 mpg. Its 25 years old and I bought it new but it has no gadgets and have changed the water pump once. I would like to see the Gladiator in 25 years. I guess by then it will be used for scrap to make a new FIAT.
I've had my Gladiator Sport S for about 2 months. Love almost everything about it. The start/stop feature is annoying as well as the size and placement of the side mirrors. I have about 2800 miles on mine and I am averaging about 25 mph. I do a lot of highway miles and have been running the AC almost continually since the day I bought the truck.
You forgot to mention the lack of Auto up windows after a single hard press. Lol I spent over 60k on my Gladiator Rubicon Launch Edition. And still have to sit and hold the window up buttons.
I went from a 2018 JLUR Wrangler into a 2021 JT Rubicon Gladiator. Differences that I have noticed so far is : 1. Smoother ride up front (longer wheelbase) 2. The engine cooling fan isn’t nearly as noisy. 3. Same Alpine 8.4 stereo, but the subwoofer seems to be MIA in the Gladiator. It’s buried behind the rear seats as opposed to the Wrangler’s rear cargo area. Not nearly as dynamic. 4. Almost without saying: the longer Gladiator chassis means longer turning radius. Not quite as easy to position in a parking space. 5. The Wrangler engine (same 3.6L Pentastar) seemed to warm up mount ch faster than the Gladiator does. All this being offered, I am still feeling pretty positive about switching vehicles. I loved my Wrangler, but appreciate the extra utility offered by the Gladiator.
I wouldn't worry about the oil issue and here's why. The engine is only off for a few seconds. The oil, even when hot, is not going to run all back into the pan that fast, so you still have oil on all moving parts. Modern oil is also "sticky", it tends to leave a film for quite some time. And 40-60psi of oil moves pretty good.
I have a 2006 Nissan Frontier SE that I purchased new. I put a 3 inch lift and 33 inch tires on it. I did get 16.7 mpg. Now I get about 15 mpg. Nice looking Gladiator you have.
I am not all convinced that the Gladiator is a truck. it's a JL with a small bed. You can get a Raptor for the price of a Gladiator. Trucks are bigger, wider, have V8s, trailer brakes, transmission coolers and more. That LJ is the best Jeep in your stable.
@@lesszabo5625 I have seen the Gladiator Rubicon full package go for 60k plus. around the same price as a Raptor. If anything the Raptor is more truck for a few grand more.
@@kg2995 no doubt about it, I currently own an '11 Raptor, but I have not seen any going for less than 72k. Also you can order a Gladiator with the options that you want for around 50k, which is how I'm getting one.
Got my Gladiator almost fully loaded for 52K. 5% below invoice. It's working great as a truck for me. I had no problem bringing back all the shit my parents gave to my son this past weekend. The 5 ft bed is plenty big enough. Same length as the Tundra my father in law has.
Congrats on 43k subs! I’ve been here since before you had 1k. Almost seen every video, thank you for everything you do and everything you share with us
Hi Ben. Thanks for your video. I purchased the Gladiator Rubicon in early July and have put over 6k miles on her. I can relate to several of your issues with the Jeep. One thing you mention is the MPG. I average 18 in 2WD. I live in rural Vermont...lots of hills and slow speeds. We also have ethanol free fuel up here, so that may be the difference. You're absolutely right about the storage (or lack of). I have to remind myself, that it's a Jeep. My prior Jeep was a 1982 CJ-7 which had even less. I didn't buy this for the storage. I bought her because she's a Jeep truck. The auto-stop feature really does suck. There's lots of stop and go traffic in Vermont. You'd think they'd make this feature with a bit more intelligence. Don't stop every 20 feet and shut off the truck for a second or two. I did have the same issue with my Honda SUV prior to the Jeep though. I do wish that you could disable the auto shut-off and turn it ON if you wanted to. One thing I wanted to add to your list is the wifi is HORRIBLE. It works infrequently. I have an iphone which is always set to pick up wifi. 9 times out of 10, I'll look at my phone and it will be on LTE (4 bars) vs using the Jeep's wifi. Thanks again, Ben, for your video. I'll be sure to subscribe and look out for future videos.
Well it is now 6\8\2021 and I bought a Jeep Gladiator Rubicon. Mine does not have the front collision safety stuff. It is great to see your earlier videos. Gives a before and after perspective on what can be done to improve the Gladiator. I love my jeep Gladiator Rubicon! Really enjoy your videos too
The seperation that you're talking about ben with the rear end isn't much. You're right.....however you have to keep in mind that is STOCK....designed to run up to 35" tires from factory not 37's or 40's. Anyone who is going to run 40's should do an axle swap at that point in time because I doubt that control arm separation is going to be your biggest issue.
I drive an 06 Daytona with the 5.7- gas is not a deal breaker!!! The Gladiator will be my first brand new vehicle ever and I couldn't be more excited... Thanks for all your great videos brother
The forward collision avoidance system randomly going off isn’t just in the gladiator, my 2017 grand Cherokee does the same thing. It is dangerous, not only to yourself but to others on the road as well
I’ll say that was a decent review and I appreciate it. In a nutshell for the asking price you were hoping it offered more standard truck like features whilst still being a Jeep Wrangler which would also seperate it from other Wranglers. That’s reasonable.
Thank you so much for this video!!! I have been SUPER torn between a gladiator, and a mega cab. Now I’ve made my decision. I still want one, but not as my primary vehicle. I’ll wait a few years to get one cheap. Lol
I disabled my Stop-Start the 1st day I brought my JL home. Pulled the dongle under the hood - done deal & no issues. There’s a light on the dash that reminds me that the Stop-Start is disabled, but it’s not bright or obnoxious. Absolutely do not need to waste coin on a Tuner.
Heffe agreed. When the auto stop then start function works it’s nothing like letting it sit overnight then starting and driving immediately. When it sits overnight the oil has spent the WHOLE night draining to your sump. Stopping at a set of lights for 2 minutes your engine still has residual oil everywhere it needs to be.
@Al Caponey Exactly, it's not just about the oil draining back down into the sump, but it is also about the operating temperature of the oil. Once at operating temp it is nothing like a cold start. Does the auto stop feature only work once the engine has come up to temp?
About the oil pressure, engine is fine. Oil is heated and lubricating while driving. Once you stop at a light and get going again, oil pressure is ok. Totally different from starting the Jeep on a cold start.
2dr Gladiator would be the way to go. Yes less room, but more offroad capability while still being a truck. This 4dr gladiator is a compromise between a Wrangler (for offroading) and a truck. Unfortunately, as a compromise, it doesn't meet both worlds at its best...its not good for offloading, and it's not as good as other trucks on the market..plus it's expensive..To me, its rather failing its purpose when you look at the whole picture.
@@merczeph79 for some reason those 2 door models dont sell..Everybody wants 4dr and more room...people are spoilt I guess..:-)...I would like the 2dr version better as well. Plus it would even look better..the 4dr looks soooooo long! almost borderline weird..:-)
@Curtis Storage can be created. Bed drawers are one way. A rooftop box/rack is another. Build a compartment onto the back of the tailgate, or into the bedsides, or onto a headache rack, or into some rocker guards/steps. Storage bumpers anyone?
I thought the same thing and funny about no coin holder lol . Seems more marketing and his opinion.im new to Jeep just bought a JT Sport I love it 20 MPG and came with 33on 17” . Couple Jeep friends now have JT and said off road it was fun with a little lift and 35 they said no big issues. I mean were not king of the jeeps like this guy but I felt his statements was his own personal opinion and he probably has a hell of a lot of experience and I’m sure I’m gonna get beat down for it but in the end it’s what you like and your own preference.
3 things i hate about this video: 1: Your hand movement 2: Too much hand movement 3: The fact that you move your hand way too much. Final thoughts: Dude! You move your hand too much!!!
Just FYI, to make your Gladiator or any JL/JLU get that auto stop/auto start feature, you need to press and hold your brake fully to have the engine cut off at stop lights... HOWEVER, you can bypass that, yes, by pushing the button before you drive but while you're driving, FEATHER (lightly hold) the brake pedal and it won't cut off at lights. Just FYI, brother.
after just watching your video, I've noticed you have the Rubicon. I've got the 2020 Gladiator Sport. Mine is the 6 speed manual trans with 373 gear ratio and with that setup on the highway, I get over 20 mpg. I've got over 18,000 miles on mine and I really have no complaints and I will not have an automatic trans. because I can replace a clutch pressure plate and trans much cheaper than the automatic trans. I have pulled multiple length trailers as big as my tandem axle lowboy trailer and with the braking capacity of this Jeep set up and manually gearing down. I really have no issues with stopping keeping in mind. I have driven tractor/trailers, knowing a good stopping vehicle vs. a bad stopping vehicle with trailer. I am not up on all the computer additions on these new vehicles such as bluetooth, etc which I do not use. I would prefer a good CD player or Cassette player or even a better radio than Jeep has. The steering issues you have complained about in your video can be altered depending on the profile and compound of the rubber tires you are running. Your bigger mud tires have a tendency to flex more than your standard AT tires.
You are proof that knowledge is organic and comes from our communities combined with deep thought mixed with our life experiences. Thanks for dropping the science on us everyday fam 👌🏿
The stop/start feature on the manual version only works when you take your foot off the clutch. If you keep your foot on the clutch during a stop, it won't kick on.
So, you’re telling me that this gets worse mileage than the JL? I was getting 14 mpg after putting a 35s but then I reset the speedometer and went to 18-20. 23 at times during road trips. Dang man... I was thinking about trading it in!
I'm a Jeep guy, which is to say that I am a fan of the Jeep formula: small, maneuverable, 4 wheel drive. I have a 00' TJ built up for bouncing around in the mountains, and a '48 CJ2A that is all original- and I use it as a daily driver. I really like the idea of a Jeep pickup, but I look at that thing as just another pickup. Now, if Jeep wants to make a 2 door version with an overall length that is no more than that of a 2 door wrangler (yes, a 3 foot long bed is okay) and throw a small diesel into it, I will take notice. Personally, I think they are going in the wrong direction.
The starter is designed for the auto start stop is designed for it and shouldn't wear out because of it. And the oil pressure isn't the biggest issue as the oil is still all through the motor from running while you're driving it. It hasn't had hours to drain back into the sump and you're not dry starting the motor every time.
@@Stevesmith-yw7cr the video maker is not happy with me calling him out about it being Fiat, he knows its junk, he is just pushing products to people who dont know the truth. and the best laugh was he dont know how the dash works,
I am 2 weeks into my Rubicon Gladiator. I agree on most points. I ordered mine and though I added almost everything, I ditched the radar collision crap. Wife had a Tundra with it and I hated it and it was constantly under recall. The space gripe is just silly. Ya have a bed. I’d say the two most glaring things I notice is steering characteristics and gas. I came to this from a 2010 JKU rubicon. The steering takes a whole lot to get used too. I still don’t think I’m there. Yeah, gas sucks. I’m getting average 14mpg. There’s a flip side though. This vehicle smokes my last ruby on speed and power. No comparison. I upgraded my air and exhaust on the old ruby and this stock set up is so much more powerful. I really think the gas has more to do with me and how I’m driving it. Just not used to having so much pep. I’ve actually told buddies this thing is probably faster than a Jeep should be. If I still feel that way after swapping to 35s remains to be seen. Overall though? I love it. No regrets. Just maybe some tweaks down the road which is always baked into the cake for all jeeps. That auto stop thing is bullshit. That’s gotta go. Hope this helps.
Those backwards buttons makes me crazy! I'm glad I'm not the only one. And as far as the steering goes, I put the Fox Racing Shox 983-02-148 Factory Race Series 2.0 ATS Steering Stabilizer on my JLUR and it was a huge improvement. Highly recommend it.
Isn’t that a Jeep tradition anyway? My mom has a 2013 Wrangler Unlimited and the steering is what I would consider loose compared to the other vehicles I’ve owned. But it doesn’t seem as bad as he makes it out to be.
I have a 2018 Ram Promaster high roof cargo van, you want storage I got storage. Can't go more off roading than a dirt driveway, but I can carry as many soderpop's and pizzas as any block party could ever want lol.
Great video buddy. None of the things you "hate" about the Gladiator are reasons to not buy one. They're just things to know before you buy. Thanks for the info
As far as the menu scrolling being backwards.. Just change the perspective on how you look at it. I think its meant to be set so that 1 is at the top and the larger numbers are under as you scroll down through the menu.. sort of as seen in the following example. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. And so on.... So as you press down on the D-pad you are scrolling through the menu as it was meant to be set up.... sort of like scrolling down through a list I hope this helps😁😁

Lets not forget the kind of downpayment and credit score needed to make it financially sound for most of us lowly people to even own just a stock version of the stock gladiator or even a jl wrangler for that matter.
I was just thinking today, as I looked at the prices online, "Man, they are just pricing so many old customers out". I remember my 1st Wrangler was a 1994 and about $14,100. Even my 2014 Wrangler Willy's Wheeler was only $31,000. Not paying $50,000 for this!
@@cowboygeologist7772 Early TJs were still available for under $10K US new. My 1995 YJ had a base MSRP of under $9K US. 1) the Dash buttons work fine. Your thinking of it backwards. It’s like a motorcycle/ATV, pushing down gets you the next gear, that sort of thing. 2) it sucks that it only averages 14/15mpg. Because that is in fact full size pick up numbers. But that thing is so big and boxy I think it’s closer to full size than genuine mid size. I know the new Colorado, Ranger, Tacoma, and rebel are pretty much the same size, but mid size trucks 10 years ago were significantly smaller. Those you actually COULD get low 20’s mpg. Not anymore. Everyone is trying to make the best towing midsize pickup and completely throwing the economy part of it right out the window. 3) all mid size trucks suffer from storage problems. The gladiators is particularly bad. But you don’t really get significant space unless you go full size. That’s a ragging battle. You want the aggressive and sporty looks, as well as low price, of a Tacoma or gladiator. But you want the cooler and tool space of a full size pick up. Like a Silverado. It’s a win-lose situation.
I want to clear things up... since once again, lots of people who know nothing about Jeeps, or the gladiator are getting all mad. @MoneyPit Jku depends on the hull aluminum or fiberglass a fiberglass boat could weigh 3000+ pounds minus the trailer.. depends on the batteries u use also alot of the lead batteries for boats are 120 pounds for each one.. n alot of anglers has 3-4 so thats 500 pounds more... not including all the tackle n what not inside of it aswell so it could be upwards of 4000 plus pounds... rather have a diesel to tow anyways thats what they are used for in the beginning with good low end torque... and the gladiator looks ugly tbh atleast in my eyes but everyone is not me either lol
i forgot about the motor n extra electronics for the boat that are added aswell... it all builds up
@MoneyPit Jku alot of bass pro's has lead batteries n are roughly 120 pounds n has 4 or u can go for the lighter option with is the lithium batteries which are about 60 pounds in weight... they prolly use the electronics and the trolling motor nonstop where u didnt...
i do know tho that lunkerstv said his skeeter boat was 3400 pounds minus the tackle included... so idk if thats with the trailer or not... dont quote me on that either... so my numbers could honestly be vague n wrong actually lol people make mistakes afterall!
Biggest thing I hate about the gladiator is that there isn't one in my driveway 😂
Sean O'Block same💀💀💀
Yeah that Fiat jeep would look nice
If you get one, it will be in your driveway....sitting there waiting for you to have it towed to be fixed when you can pony up the money. They don't call FIAT F ix I t A gain T ony for nothing!
Sean O'Block so annoying of a problem ha
Tony Salami all these fiat comments sound so ignorant. Fiat owns Jeep, yes but they don’t make, design or produce Jeeps anymore than Volkswagen does Bugatti. It’s just a financial thing. Companies buy out other companies all the time. If anything fiat probably steals from Jeep/dodge/ram more than the other way around.
My biggest complaint is the over price.
Just buy a full size truck !

And so on.
You push the down button to go down the list.
I guess this RUclips content creator never uses a computer. PageDown increments the page number and PageUp decrements.
I agree. i believe he's used to perhaps like a touch screen device where you swipe up to see whatever is next or more recent information.
Definitely not backwards.
Sounds like you need a purse for added storage. 😂😂😂😀 its a jeep like all jeeps before it. Minimalist......
This exactly!
Same here. I personally am not digging the JLs because of all the more technology in them. They are more car like now. The JK is rugged
@@pawpaw2524 Yep, same thing I was thinking when I got a JK over the JL. There's more crap that can possibly break. Jeeps aren't luxury vehicles. The JK (i think) is a great combination of modern conveniences without too much flashy upgrades to worry about.

Truck bed
*am I a joke to you*
At about 5 foot, yes it is a joke

All of those extra options you wanna shut off are why I'm glad I'm sticking with the good ol' TJ. Nothing fancy to get in the way of the fun. 👍
I was actually watching one of the Jeep gladiator reviews yesterday, and no one mentioned any of this other than the control switches and the room. Thanks for going a little more in depth and not doing a “cookie cutter” review
The real thought in Bens head - “it’s not red” 🤣
Great thing about buying a vehicle is that a person as you said can modify or add after market products to their vehicle. That's a good thing because when people see that there is a need for products that would improve performance. Someone comes along and creates it. The things we may see as negative can in turn be a positive outcome ( opportunity ) for someone else.
Too much hand movement-turning it off now getting dizzy

My 1990 Honda Civic has none of these problems it just doesn’t start sometimes 🤔
Ignition igniter. Same, till I replaced it - known problem. I'd have the manual if I got the Gladiator, so not sure if those have auto stop/start....Love the look of that Gladiator with those rims and tires! I'd stop right there with tire upgrades for beach off-roading locally.
If he would of titled it 10 things I like who would of watched it? He is a genius.
They put foward collision warning in 18 wheelers years ago and ive had it lock the brakes up in snow and rain for no reason at all. Forward collision warning is dangerous and should be disabled
I call bullshit on that. You were probably riding someone's ass just like a lot of truckers do.
My husband is a truck driver of a great company and a plastic bag, will put the brakes on, which this has happened to him and he pull doubles!!!
It’s not bullshit though.. Our company just got a fleet of 2019 Mack anthems with the forward collision warning systems. They get triggered by guard rails, mailboxes, and all sorts of objects. Not the best idea for something that can weigh 105k pounds fully loaded in bad weather
Okie rider if you have never drove a truck with this system then you have no clue.

No bed liner? Hey if you get a cap it will just look like a regular Jeep. ha
Jeep steering is more a suggestion 😁
Had a 19 JLU as a rental when I was up in Maryland. My daily is a 18 WRX and holy smokes the steering feel on Wranglers felt so weird haha. Driving in DMV traffic at highway speeds was a white-knuckle experience 😂
Try driving a 2004 f250 , 4x4 diesel, solid axle pickup truck, then you will feel vague unresponsive steering!
I test drove a gladiator a found the steering and ride to be quite an upgrade compare to that 18 year old truck.
I own a Gladiator Rubicon - I'm avg'ing 20.2 mpg since I got it in May. You have to be doing something wrong.
He also is running a performance chip, so of course its going to perform differently lol I dont know why he is surprised
Manual vs his automatic?
I've had my launch for 2 months now.. I've actually doing mid 23's highway...I stopped watching 5 mins in..why did he buy it ?
His foot is probably thru the firewall
I have to agree with you. My stock JTR is getting 18.5-19 daily with heavy city driving. When I jump on highway it climbs to 22 pretty quick.
I’m not seeing the problem with the buttons. You push down on the button and you go further down the list and you push up to go to the top. If anything, what you’re suggesting is the backwards way to do it.
for the forward collision I think you can reduce the sensitivity, or just turn it off
my silverado gets 13mpg. my denali gets 9mpg on a good day. if i had a truck that got 15mpg that would be a dream!
Jacob Savage yes yes yessss. My question is who buys a truck any truck jeep or whatever and worries about gas mileage. 15 sounds great to me
My titan gets 19 city and 22 hwy. My TJ gets like 10 mpg but I didnt buy it for the fuel mileage
what my sierra denali 6.2 got 20mpg, got the gladiator went down to 16 doing my usually 80-85mph
My Silverado averaged 16
The start/stop feature drives me crazy.
You forgot to mention the lack of Auto up windows after a single hard press. Lol I spent over 60k on my Gladiator Rubicon Launch Edition. And still have to sit and hold the window up buttons.
Ohhh no the strain on your little finger
Kyel Dorries lol do you have a gladiator too?
Im averaging 18 and some change mpg with 35s. Just depends on your daily drive and driving habits. Nothing worth complaining about in my opinion.
I went from a 2018 JLUR Wrangler into a 2021 JT Rubicon Gladiator. Differences that I have noticed so far is :
1. Smoother ride up front (longer wheelbase)
I loved my Wrangler, but appreciate the extra utility offered by the Gladiator.
all depends on how you off road,

The fuck out here Nancy!

I hate the hand movement pointing at shit.
blame my ocd but is there a chance you can turn it in and get a red gladiator
Wherein the hell can you get a Raptor for the price of a Gladiator?
@@lesszabo5625 I have seen the Gladiator Rubicon full package go for 60k plus. around the same price as a Raptor. If anything the Raptor is more truck for a few grand more.
@@kg2995 no doubt about it, I currently own an '11 Raptor, but I have not seen any going for less than 72k. Also you can order a Gladiator with the options that you want for around 50k, which is how I'm getting one.

Really enjoy your videos too
When you put stuff in your storage bin...they fill up and you can't put more stuff into them.
yes!!!
Point WELL taken…👍
I'm more impressed by that camera's image stabilization than the gladiator.
Lol
Biggest thing I hate about The Gladiator is FIAT!!
The loose feel for the steering wheel is something people have been complaining since its launch❗️
When you were talking about the oil pressure issue... sounds like you don’t have any knowledge on the subject...
Does the auto stop feature only work once the engine has come up to temp?
ajm8127 On my vehicle with auto stop/start it won’t kick in until operating temp. 2016 Jeep GC
15mpg is pretty good, im getting 13mpg city driving in my 4runner.
You mentioned a very good point about auto start feature and oil pressure.
Need more storage??Build a closet on the on the truck bed Want better fuel mileage?Buy a Toyota Prius 🚗
Jose Rodriguez should of bought a Toyota Tacoma, that Italian fiat car is overpriced piece of shit.
agreed, how much does he need to haul around 24/7 that he needs all the extra bags, and there's a truck bed for a reason
Jay Moar you do know the Tacoma is the same exact pricing when compared properly.....
NO kidding LOL, I have a Prius and it gets great gas mileage. My rock crawler doesn't get nearly that
You're an idiot
About the oil pressure, engine is fine. Oil is heated and lubricating while driving. Once you stop at a light and get going again, oil pressure is ok. Totally different from starting the Jeep on a cold start.
The auto start stop is based on the break pedal response. If you don’t depress the brake all the way, it won’t shut off. If you do, it will shut off.

This, they have the 2 door wrangler, hopefully they release a 2 door gladiator! I'd buy one
@@merczeph79 for some reason those 2 door models dont sell..Everybody wants 4dr and more room...people are spoilt I guess..:-)...I would like the 2dr version better as well. Plus it would even look better..the 4dr looks soooooo long! almost borderline weird..:-)
If they would do a 2 door diesel with a manual I’d be first in line. Too bad it’s never going to happen.
The correct term to use is characteristic. It’s a cheap characteristic to feel loose at highway speed’s which is normal
They designed the engines to keep oil up on top of the head when they're stoped. That way the auto off doesn't hurt the engine in the long run.
Spends 15 minutes telling you why it's not a great truck or a great Jeep, and wraps it all up telling you it's a great truck and a great Jeep. LoL!

@Curtis Storage can be created. Bed drawers are one way. A rooftop box/rack is another. Build a compartment onto the back of the tailgate, or into the bedsides, or onto a headache rack, or into some rocker guards/steps. Storage bumpers anyone?

The Start Stop oil pressure is a very thoughtful comment. Thanks for including it!
The stop/start feature on the manual version only works when you take your foot off the clutch. If you keep your foot on the clutch during a stop, it won't kick on.

Mine is getting 19 average, my commute is mostly highway, so I really think it’s how/what type of drive
Something is wrong with your JT. My stock Rubicon is getting almost 20.

Most importantly, you can still get it with a manual transmission!
If you wait until next year with the econo-diesel engine, the fuel economy will be much better
Fiat makes really crappy diesel engines. They should stay in Italy where they don't know any better.
whwhwhhwhwhwhw yeah cant wait for all that metal to be returned to china for scrap,
@@Stevesmith-yw7cr the video maker is not happy with me calling him out about it being Fiat, he knows its junk, he is just pushing products to people who dont know the truth. and the best laugh was he dont know how the dash works,
I am 2 weeks into my Rubicon Gladiator.
One thing I agree with you completely on this is the auto start and stop, it's gonna suck the life out of the starter and even the engine too.
I had to stop watching after he said the steering is loose for the 5th time
Isn’t that a Jeep tradition anyway?
My mom has a 2013 Wrangler Unlimited and the steering is what I would consider loose compared to the other vehicles I’ve owned. But it doesn’t seem as bad as he makes it out to be.
I can’t watch anymore Storage Storage my god I have never heard a man that needed so much Storage
I have a 2018 Ram Promaster high roof cargo van, you want storage I got storage. Can't go more off roading than a dirt driveway, but I can carry as many soderpop's and pizzas as any block party could ever want lol.
One thing this idiot won't need storage for is his money, he spent it all on this POS.
Needs storage for his video equipment and cosmetics
@4:30
No room for cell, cb, ham, gmrs or even a scanner etc.
Just picked up my new 2020 Jeep Gladiator Overland and drove it from one dealership to my dealership. MPG 22. Looking forward to being a Jeep owner.
Great video buddy. None of the things you "hate" about the Gladiator are reasons to not buy one. They're just things to know before you buy. Thanks for the info
Put some eyes on that hand and we have a puppet show ! 😁
I wanna see more offroad vids. And I've never even thought about mpg in my jeep lol.
Everything noted is definitely easily overlooked just look at it 😂
As far as the menu scrolling being backwards..
Just change the perspective on how you look at it. I think its meant to be set so that 1 is at the top and the larger numbers are under as you scroll down through the menu..
sort of as seen in the following example.
1.
2.
3.
4.
5.
6.
7.
And so on....
So as you press down on the D-pad you are scrolling through the menu as it was meant to be set up.... sort of like scrolling down through a list
I hope this helps😁😁
I love Jeeps, I've owned a YJ, TJ and a Wagoneer... but... when I decided to get a truck. I bought a Ford F-250 Crew Cab, 4x4, 6.2L V8. For $34,999 cash. I love Jeeps, but the price of the Gladiator just doesn't make sense.
I have had f350 and a wrangler. I Miss both.
You forgot one more important problem. ( FIAT)
Lets not forget the kind of downpayment and credit score needed to make it financially sound for most of us lowly people to even own just a stock version of the stock gladiator or even a jl wrangler for that matter.
give it three years. the lots will be full of leased vehicles brought back.
@@cowboygeologist7772 good thing the gladiator starts at $33,000
@@cowboygeologist7772 Early TJs were still available for under $10K US new. My 1995 YJ had a base MSRP of under $9K US. I was out the door for about $12K US with pwr steering, reclining front seats, back seat, carpet, hardtop w/fulldoors and defroster, hvy-duty alt/batt, 4WD, 2.5L/5spd...and no stereo. Simple Jeeps like that just aren't offered anymore. It was almost perfect for having a reliable offroader. 30" mudders and a winch made it quite capable offroad with the antiswaybar and trackbars disconnected. Lunchbox lockers for a few hundred $$ could make those little Jeeps claw over all kinds of stuff on a budget.
Almost NO new vehicle seems financially sound. Depreciation hit. It's not generally an appreciating asset. Electric folding scooter/bicycle, Uber/Lyft apps, and a transit pass.
The fact u payed 60k for a jeep truck that sucks as a truck
and the fact that shit will start to fall apart before 50k miles..money well spent eh
@@whitegoodman7465 Just Excpect Every Problem lol
60k lol wow
Somebody is jealous.
Wow 15MPG!!??? I just bought mine this week it’s a 2021 high altitude on 20’s on stock tires and I am getting 21 MPG
