    1. Nobody buys a jeep for gas mileage
    2. Solid axles is WHY we buy Jeeps because the articulation is better than IFS. Which is why they are better than all other off road vehicles like Tacomas, Colorados etc
    3. Removable panels is the Jeep brand
    4. Literally EVERY carmaker tiers their models like this
    5. I agree they should have offered a new motor like they did in the Wrangler
    6. They are priced high BUT they are purpose built vehicles like no other and can go anywhere
    7. The Gladiator does not compare to the Ranger or Colorado because those others cant do what a Jeep can. Jeeps are not a vehicle that can be compared across classes because no other vehicle is as capable
Lastly, any of the things you mentioned would mean that person never wanted a Jeep to begin with. Jeep people dont care about any of those things when buying one other than the price but in the end we know it would cost the same or more to make another vehicle as capable.

I agree. True Jeeper’s don’t buy it for gas mileage or aerodynamics, it’s all about the off-road adventure and freedom it gives you. Yes the prices are ridiculous considering I paid $36k for my new wrangler back in 2017. I didn’t get the Rubicon because I wanted to build it like I wanted but now I wish I had bought the Rubicon. So, $36k to now $50-55k for a sport. That’s a considerable jump. I want a Gladiator Rubicon but I’m disappointed they don’t give more engine options. That’s my biggest negative along with the pricing. It is what it is though.

I guess you don’t understand what a Jeep is about if you believe they’re only built for offroad. Since its introduction to the military the purpose of the vehicle was to get you in and out of any terrain. So today many of your mall crawlers want a vehicle for the “just in case” roads are snowy rocky uneven flooded I know with the jeep I’m getting home and people like that kind of insurance in their back pocket. And of course there are overlanders who don’t plan to bang up their expensive ass Jeep on rocks for fun but want to camp etc. This is a utilitarian vehicle and now as a pickup it’s a vehicle every one should own I mean if they can afford it because Stellantis is trying to price us out !!

I’ve owned 14 jeeps and pretty much my entire adult life never been without a Jeep I love them, recently I’ve owned a jeep 392 and I cheated I had a bronco raptor, I recently purchased the gladiator because of the huge sales they’ve been having and after the purchase I immediately modified it lift kit tires etc. etc. the usual builds and it comes to life when you do that, The gladiator has completely grown on me and I love it, it tows and handles much better than the standard wrangler/Rubicon, I do tow a modified off-road teardrop trailer and it works so well, and it’s a nice change having a Jeep that has a pick up truck bed, I recommend the gladiator and if you can find a 2023 model the sales are incredible and we are still fortunate in the United States that we can get a 4 x 4 that’s built on a solid frame that we can modify with no limits. In regards to mpg nothing I’ve ever owned has gotten incredible fuel economy, yes I wish it got better gas mileage but it’s still similar to everything else on the market. Good job on your videos! I went from a 3rd gen Tacoma for 5 years, to a 23 Silverado 1500 LTZ Duramax and sold it because of transmission issues at 40k miles. I just picked up a 23 Gladiator Rubicon manual. Really neat truck, I have 1500 miles on it so far. Its been 8 days lol. I have become used to the wind noise but it is loud. I'm in your neck of the woods outside of Savannah, this wind over the last few days has been blowing this jeep around on the highway so I'm still trying to get used to the amount of corrections I have to make to keep it straight. Also since 700 miles I've been getting a "Service Transmission" warning but I'm pretty sure its not an actual issue and is some kind of software issue. One other thing, I have noticed an issue where it momentarily cuts power like it misfires in 3rd and 4th sometimes. I test drove a 24 Tacoma manual yesterday and the rev hang is insane, it completely killed the enjoyment of that vehicle. Overall since I paid like 42k for a pretty loaded Rubicon with a color matched hard top I am happy with it and think nothing touches that. You are right, price is 100% the biggest issue with them.

You nailed it: price is the #1 problem with the Gladiator. I want a midsize truck to tow a small camper, haul camping gear, and do light off-roading. I will shop a Sport S with the Max Tow Package, but at 55K, it is $10K more expensive than other nicely optioned midsize 4WD/AWD trucks. I am buying at the end of 2024, so if the Gladiator is competitive with other midsize trucks in price, I will consider it. Also hoping the Gladiator Sport S with the Max Tow Pkg will also come with 1,500 lbs +/- of payload like the GM twins, the Ranger, and the Ridgeline. Disappointed in the Tacoma and Frontier in terms of payload despite being nice trucks.

The ONE thing the Gladiator SHOULD do that the Wrangler can’t do well is tow. That’s the only reason I’m even considering the Gladiator. I appreciate this video, but for folks looking at this truck instead of the Wrangler is so we can tow something. Most reviews of the Gladiator’s towing pales in comparison to other trucks in this price range. The Gladiator should have a 392 and priced at $55k.

It would be great if it could tow 7000 pounds safely up and down hills. I don’t think it even has a built-in trailer brake controller. Again, for a truck in this price range, the competition is better. If not towing, the Wrangler is hard to beat.

I love the way a solid front axle vehicle wanders a bit. Makes driving fun and you feel part of the experience. In a world where people want cars to drive themselves and vehicles thst can parallel park for you and back your trailer up for you, I am the complete opposite. I love the input from the road, I love backing up trailers with my own skill. The gladiator is the most fun truck ever made as well as the most capable off road truck ever made. I would not change a thing except the price and sure wish jeep would put a damn front locker in the mojave!

  • @panaforce
    @panaforce 4 месяца назад

Absolutely agree. They should change their trims to equate different suspension and axle setups. Rubi as it is, Sport with IFS, Sahara with all indi. So ppl could choose whichever route they’d want to go; rock crawling, overlanding, or speed/handling/comfort etc.
No doubt the prices on all vehicles have inflated but American vehicles, especially the jeep wrangler platform offers purpose built and rightly equipped for off-road, plus the most modular rig.
Wrangler/Gladiator is a very good platform for overland utilitarian metal top SUV, like the LC70 and old Defender.
I don’t know what the Stellantis’s marketing and pricing strategy is but as an off-road enthusiast, I fear their lack of sales may end one of the last few mass built purpose built combustion motor vehicles at attainable prices.

Know your a JT / Jeep fan as I am & I agree with you on some things but not everything , first it's a box but so is the JL & they sell fine . Second I'm told the reason the 2.0 turbo isn't in the Gladiator is because it's to light & can't get the trail rated badging due to this . I know you gotta know this already but the Rubicon is built to go offroad & hit some rock trails hence the Rubicon name whereas the Mojave is built to go fast in the sand where the locker isn't needed as much in this situation. Let's be honest on fuel economy & some other issues , us Jeepers aren't as concerned with the fuel economy especially since most of us are gonna lift & install way bigger tires on. As far as wondering on the road I just haven't experienced it to the point I wanna buy something else & it can be made better . The price is a big issue but I honestly don't see more being offered for the save or less money from Toyota and others , I actually thought of picking up a TRD instead of the JT but once I looked into them I realized there just as much when comparing equal to equal. As far as road noise from having removable roof/panels i haven't experienced noise due to these options & ive owned alot of Jeeps over the years Appreciate the videos & your insights these are just my thoughts as well.

But agree 100 with you it's not very loud, drives great and is such a capable vehicle.

While Jeep was offering discounts last year the dealers were increasing their MSRP then using the "jeep discount" to bring the prices back down to the original MSRP. If jeep is listening I’d love to see them release a 2 door gladiator, with short box, diesel engine, and manual transmission. The Mojave isn't supposed to be a rock crawler or mudbogger. It's a dessert runner. This it doesn't need front lockers or full skids. The Rubicon is the top trim and made for hardcore technical off-roading, which is usually slow crawling so extra frame reinforcement isn't needed. Jeep isn't missing the mark. They survey and see what people want.
As far as prices, I just looked and a Ranger Raptor starts at $57k then add the "market adjustment" ford dealers all do. Also factor in the 25% inflation for 2018 when you could get a Sport for $35k. Tack on union demands for more money and guess what. We the consumer have to pay more money.

For me I hate the look needs 37s a slight lift etc minimum to look decent rear taillights even uglier 🤮. Dated power train with questionable reliability I know some say otherwise but i dont trust it Then MSRP haha GTFO. So u would need to add minimum 10k+ to get it up to par in looks department. Even with the massive discounts saw Rubicons for 47k to 50k then add on the 10k+ in mods just not worth it. If u could get a Rubicon for low $40k range, I would definitely be much more willing to jump in.

Jeep management is threatening to ruin the brand by price gouging. They need too drop the prices $10K to be competitive. I can get a Tacoma TRD or a Z71 for about$50K.

Jeep is definetly priced high! But seems like the buyers has put their foot down and forced them to run big sales at the end of the year to move them. hopefully jeep will do the same again.

Love my 2021 Gladiator Rubicon. I came from a 16 TRD Off road. The Jeep is a way nicer truck. The Toyota V6 was absolutely gutless off line with no low end torque. New model with the turbo 4 (No thanks) you can keep all the small turbo motors,
The Jeep is purposed built for people who actually use theirs off road. the fact that you can run 33's stock on a Rubicon or Mojave and with a leveling kit 35's with clearance is another advantage.

It's a boxy truck BECAUSE it's a Jeep based off the ORIGINAL design... What more aerodynamics? Buy a Cherokee ‼️ Complaints regarding the back seat accessibility... I didn't buy my Gladiator to haul passengers AROUND every day. Just shut 😶up and get in‼️✅✅

I drove Wranglers from the time I was 16 until 5 years ago. I am 46 now. I LOVED the Wrangler, but even I can explain what the hell Jeep is thinking. No more Sahara in a 2 door. In order to get color matched fender flares and top I have to spring for a Rubicon. Why? I don't need the transfer case. I don't need sway bar disconnects. I don't need the 4:10 gears. We all asked for a V8 for YEARS. Could they give a 5.7 hemi? No. Of course not. They give us a 392 in a 4 door only with horrible gas mileage...and still only in a Rubicon. ANYWAY, I digress. This is about the Gladiator. It's just effin ugly. Yes, it looks great from the front, but that is the ugliest truck bed of any truck. I know it's subjective, but as a guy who loves Wrangler styling, I think it says something. Jeep missed the boat with the Gladiator. Removeable top and doors? GREAT! Better idea--- Make a half ton Jeep truck. Base it closer to the old Kaiser trucks, give it a 5.7 or a diesel. That brings me to the next gripe. It isn't very good at most TRUCK things. It can't haul much. It can't tow much. It has very little storage. When I finally left the Wrangler behind, I considered a Gladiator for about 3 seconds.... Final reason? Price. For what you are getting, it is absolutely ridiculous. I agree with the earlier comment who mentioned they expected much more from a 60-70k Vehicle. On the good side, I didn't completely leave the family. For nearly 3 years I have been VERY happily driving a Ram 1500 Limited with Ramboxes and the air suspension. Am I going to go trail running in that vehicle? No, of course not. It's a luxury pickup. For the same price I could have had a Gladiator with a third of the luxury, an ugly profile, and bad gas mileage... BUT I could have taken the top and doors off! Nah, If I want another Wrangler, I'll buy a Wrangler. Just my .02. Cheers!

    1) nobody and i do mean nobody who buys a wrangler or gladiator is looking at the MPG ratings when buying, I admire JEEP for keeping with tradition of the body style over the years.
    2) I do agree they should have released a new motor option for the gladiator, I would of liked to see a 392 option. Better yet bring back the 4.0 in-line 6. These vehicles do not need a fuel efficient option that would be sub-par on the trails.
    3) I don't know what JEEP did on the 2024's but my 2024 Gladiator Rubicon Rubicon edition feels more confident around town and at 85MPH on the highway by leaps and bounds. I previously owned 2011 JKU Sport. Does it drive like an Escalade? No, but it is also 50k less. I would know my girlfriend just bought one.
    4) Everyone that owns a JEEP does not care about road noise, we literally bought a vehicle we can remove the doors and roof.
    5) Yeah the backseat is dismal but it is a mid-size pickup at the end of the day.
    6) The Mojave and Rubicon are both purpose built vehicles, the Rubicon is meant to crawl slowly on technical trails where you need both front and rear lockers with the sway bar disconnect, the Mojave is meant to blast through the dunes hence the reinforced frame. Every manufacturer has trim levels.
    7) The essentials are protected, when you add full length skid plates you add a lot of weight even if you go the aluminum route. As you mentioned these are already vehicles that need to be driven, so why would they make it harder? Plus skid plates change the entire drag coefficient of the truck.
    8) I do believe Stellantis is smoking crack when pricing these trucks, I could have bought and Silverado 1500 ZR2 for 4k more than my truck granted it is a limited edition. However, that Silverado could never hold a light to the offroad prowess of JEEP and that is how they get away with it.

Everything you said I agree with 100%. But backseat wise, as someone that has tested every midsize truck. The gladiaor has a Ton of back seat space comparatively . And the gladiaor rear storage is unmatched, like by a long shot. Love the back seat space and storage of the gladiator.

Exactly the Mojave is a competitor to the Ford Raptor. Not having a better engine in it is crazy. While nothing will dethrone the Ford Raptor Line for off road speed and performance I think more people would get a Mojave with a better power train.
