Done exactly the same job it was bcm at fault but made a fused ignition switch live to brake switch and then fed it to rear brake lights as bcm was an expensive item but just to note as I fell for the same thing the brake light switch will only operate when it is twisted into its position it has some sort of clip inside that stops the circuit when untwisted and removed
Hiya. Big question is did the replacemenet BCM fix the issue?! I have the same issue with no brake lights and think, but not confirmed, might be due to water/screenwash ingress into the BCM.
I would want to know which modules the brake switches are hard wired to. Then how the BCM receives the brake switch command if the switch is not directly connected to it.
Besides the fact that corrosion and contacts are awful at the rear bulbs plates. Plus this kind of bs, really modern cars suck, I am hearing that stoplights also through bcm.
Hi.. Thanks for the video. My old Mondeo rear lights are working, and worked before, I have the same DTC code, changed the brake switch, and cleared the code also with Forscan. My problem is that in 1 st gear the engine is very slow in acceleration... No other codes, cleaned EGR, checked injectors, clean MAF sensor, cleaned throttle, changed diesel filter, changed gearbox Aisin oil etc. No idea what can be... Olso at Ford no ideea or solution..

Thanks for info Matthew cheers sandy
My inlaws neighbour has just experienced exactly the same fault on a 2010 Mondeo estate. He's been quoted huge amount to replace the BCM
@@TK42138 I would just re wire

I bet Steve at SY Dianostics has had this headache before Sandy 😉👍
Hi Mike I've consulted the ford guru Mr SY on this one hope your well cheers sandy
I'm having the exact same problem, changed the switches, got told it was the BCM

Hi Phillip the brake light switches are hard wired to BCM and communication takes place through CAN to the other modules cheers sandy

Had exact same problem on my mondeo short in the harness , cut wires at bcm and wire in 2 bulbs to test
Good shout John never even thought of that cheers sandy
Did you install new brake switches to pedal and twist them in
Yes we did Simon cheers sandy

Try disconnecting MAF sensor and see if it improves
Does it smoke?
@@BlackBullPistol no, no smoke noticed, even in kick down.. I am not sure, maybe the injectors are bad, one or more.
Check vacuum and two solenoids for throttle and turbo.
