This engine - 2.0 TDCI - PSA/FORD is one of the best engines in 2 litre class diesel - reliable, powerful (up to 180 HP) and has quite low fuel consumption. Mondeo is very good car and cheap ;)

2.0 TDCi 140 HP when crusing long distances at 120-130 km/h the car consumes between 5,4-5,7 litres depending on geographic at Autobahn, 4,9-5,3 at overland till 80-110 km/h. Did a 2800 km roadtrip with a 180 kg trailer + 260 kg Motocycle on + 2 Persons and vacation equipment, driving through even through mountain area but 99% highway - consumption between 6,5-7,0 litres with 100-120 km/h. Downhill with some backwinds slightly above ~220 km/h GPS measurement and 215/55/R16 tires. Manual gearbox. 250000 km, regular maintenance with ofc all required repairs. Two-mass flywheel and clutch had to get changed at 198000km and because everything was disassembled also exchanged turbo-charger(not really required), timing-beld, waterpump etc. furthermore gear-side sealing. at the same time for cost reduction(if you want to drive the car till only axles are left over) you should also replace camshaft and crankshaft sealings (~80 Euro) and eazy to do when changing timing-belt. Regular high milage exchange of rear axle buschings(known problem). Wishbone buschings @248000 - thats basically all. Exchange of rear dampers and springs(little but rusty) obligatory at 230000km because vacation with trailer with planned maintenance. Close to no corrosion (at the drainage of trunk door a little - turnier model) and around damaged paint and clearcoating around inner wheel area from stones, nothing bad, car staying outside without covering whole year. Not driving short distances (shortest 50 km). Mostly driving between 160-200 km/h at Autobahn consuming 6,7-7,6 l in avg. Need fuelstation round about all 800-950 km depending on driving. But 1100 - 1200km are no problem with one filling. If you want a reliable car for eating miles with not that high expenses for repairs and maintenance - just go for 2.0 TDCi with 140 HP. Got mine in 2017 before Diesel "got hated" of several vendors for 9500€ and 125000km, 2011 facelift model. If you want more power, go for the 2.2 TDCi, combined with automatic gearbox you can even tow trailers 2 tonns with 12% incline or 2,2 tonns with max 8%. 2.0 TDCi "only" 1,8/2,0 tonns @max 8%/12%. *can recommend this car*
This is the best generation of mondeo with the "best" engine. Driving experience is much better than newer generation. My dad bought this one with 90k on clock and I like driving in, more than in my own A6 4G..
@@RallyVozac to be honest, A6 is faster (a lot) in straights and curves thanks to adaptive air suspension, but driving this mondeo is so satisfying in some way. But we are still talking about two cars where the price gap is still over 5k.. i think the comparation between these two cars was not in place, better I compared it with insignia 2017 I owned before, in here is mondeo far ahead :-)
I have same car, 2.0 tdci, euro 5, 115 hp, hatchback. On the dyno the car produced 123 hp. Now it has 186 hp and 420 Nm, after stage 1. Exceptional diesel engine!
Nice video! Can you try to make a test with the 2.2 tdci, 200 hrsprs? That engine is a rocket! I love this car! Is my favorite one! I have the '14 Mondeo hatchback, titanium X with full leder and everything and this big engine! I love it!
Yea, for mine it is so, I thought its a unproblematic "sickness" of my car :-D. Was at the workshop for checking and adjusting the track setting but it was minimal and car still kinda "driving to the right". Even on the 4rd set of tires now and totaly no unnormal wear. Got used to it and do not bother about that.
This is a DW10C engine, the one with the 165hp just they push it down to 140 in the factory. In 2011 ford decided to put out DW10C (a 165hp engine) as 140hp version with torque limiting done on ECU. You can switch back to 165hp with a simple diag interface. I have one and I did it only bad thig is that fuel went from 7.2L/100km to 8.2. This model has a very bad power steering pump (electric) and poorly designed engine mounts, other than that a solid car for that money.
Actually depending on the year or market it has old normal hydraulic rack and steering pump, electric pump and hydraulic rack or fully electric. I have done the ECU modification and fuel consumption is relatively the same.
Could you test a Mercedes B180 CDI w245? It mounts a 2.0 turbo-diesel engine whith 109 bhp and 250 nm, humble but decent. I have one whith the sport pack (215/45/17 tires and aluminium rings and sportier suspensión setup) and, despite appariences, it's a very good machine. I think it will be an interesting vídeo and i would like that very much!
I have a prefacelift 2.2TDCi and I can't find a comfortable driving position, idk why. But the heated windshield more than makes up for it now in winter.
I would like to see Peugeot 107/Citroen C1/Toyota aygo 2005-2012 , these little cars are awesome to buy for students. Just 1.0 , so low insurance. It consumes just 4 l, it is faster than most 1.4 naturally aspired motors (8V) and the price of the used car in good condition is twice lower than Citigo. And the fun factor of this car. Jinak zdravím a pochvaluji zábavný formát videa 👍.
reckon thats a 120kw/340Nm donk?...and why wouldn't you sleep with the back seats folded flat? Wish Australia got manual gearbox...we got 'Powershit' Getrag dual clutch autos

Ok but that's powerful.

I noticed that on many Mondeo the steering wheel is slightly tilted to the right. Why?

Mine does this to on winter tyres. Perfectly straight on summer tyres.
