Great video. I've been having issues with this set. I have an Onkyo TX-SR608 with everything running to the Oknyo first (surround 5.1) HDMI to the TV, fiber optic cable TV to Onkyo (opt 2). PC Netflix app puts out Dolby Digital + and the TV Netflix app stereo only? The picture is better on the TV but I wont 5.1. Any ideas?

Sir, this is first tv i've bought in about 15 years and I can't figure out how to change the settings. I have nothing hooked up physically other than a sound bar, so i can't follow your video- i can't go into HDMI whatever, because i"m not using any HDMI other than for the sound bar. I'm just using wifi and roku tv for now. How do i change settings other than just the dark normal bright that comes up under picture settings in the main menu? thanks

Does the VRR and ALLM work with PS5, despite not having HDMI 2.1? I know Sony is rolling out VRR but I’m not sure if it’s just for certain TVs (Sony brands) or not.

LOL! Yeah, I just chose streaming box for the wife. Interesting upgrade. I have an LG E6, which has the same panel as your C6, just not curved.
@@TechnoDad Think the only difference between yours and mine is the 3D on the C6. That's the one thing I'd miss jumping to a 75" TV, but I think it'd be worth it.

I'm not sure Richard as I don't have a soundbar to test. I believe there is an A/V sync option in the menu of the TV to make adjustments.

Hello Jon! It's pretty good. It has some drawbacks, but at this price point it's understandable. It has a lot of great features and I have a new video coming out tomorrow about 1440p120 vs 4K60 on the R635. Stay tuned!

Question for you. Are you not running everything through and A/V receiver? Or you running everything connected independently?
For this TV, since it’s in the master bedroom, it’s not going through an AVR.

Auto low latency is buggy as well. I disable that from the Xbox and manually turn it on at the TV.

@@TechnoDad My pleasure, for me these are very small items and not deal breakers. I am debating replacing my R617 with the R635. I almost exclusively game with mine if the R635 offers better gaming performance, and a better overall picture (wider coverage for HDR, and better black levels) I am all in.

Navigating to the Display & sound tab.
Select the Video output tile.
Select Video modes.
Disable the Allow auto low-latency mode checkbox.

Honest question which has been bugging me: I have the X1 X and a home theater system. Is it better to plug the Xbox into the TV or is it better to plug it into my AV receiver (Which is under HDMI ARC)? Obviously I am running HDMI 2.0 forced on my TCL R615. The receiver does 4K with HDR and Dolby Vision. I made sure the formats were supported before getting a while back.
Sorry for the question but this has been bugging me for a while.
If you notice input lag try switching to directly into the TV will reduce lag the only question is by how much the only issue is any equipment to accuratly measure it are quite costly

Hi Eric! I would connect the XB1X to the AVR and then go to the TV. You should be fine that way. That's how I have mine connected in the living room.

Hi! This TV does not support 4K 120Hz gaming so what you are describing is normal.
Looking forward to the final review. I’m torn between this and the 900h. I’d rather spend less on this, but prefer Sony’s better reliability.
Yeah, I remeber from past years it has always been a debate between the TCL 6 series and the Sony X900E, or X900F, and not X900H.

Hello, are you running 4k uhd with vrr turned on the xbox? I've tried to turn it on many times but the tv doesn't recognize the signal... But it works fine when I put the resolution on 1440p. Is it a problem with my set?
Yes, Carlos, VRR is on for both 4K and 1440p. No issues so far!
I had same exact issue. What solved it for me was disabling eARC in TCL settings. I was then able to get 4k VRR working. Then re-enabled eARC.
Does this TV have the same speakers as all of the other Roku TV's?

I think I know why because the Xbox one X may say 120 hz but it's not really 120 hz so you gonna have to wait to own a xbox series x to really see the difference with the 120 fps/120 hz
Do the built in apps, like plex, use vrr natively? Do I need vrr turned on to my roku ultra if I want to use the auto adjust refresh rate feature? Trying to stream my 4k hdr movies at the proper framerate
No, VRR is specifically for gaming.

They should match whatever is incoming but it’ll be locked at 24p, 30p, or 60p. Not actually changing in real time which is what VRR does. It should work for internal apps the same as external inputs.
What if you watch movies on your xbox? Do you need to then switch back to no VRR?
I would for sure do that. I would also make sure game mode was turned off.

How does vrr work with PC gaming?
It doesn't. At least I can't on my RTX 2070 Super. I can activate it, but it causes bad flicker and screen flashing when gaming. Hoping they add support at some point.
how come you are not using ARC?
This is being put in a bedroom where there is no AVR or soundbar.

Great help for those poor people in the auto mode. Amazing how many people will never see what their tv can really do.
Yeah Matt, it's pretty crazy how many people had no idea they were not getting HDR. That's why I want all TV companies to make sure there's an HDR alert when it gets activated. I know that Sony doesn't do that.
I would not recommend the TCL brand. Google problems with TCL and you'll see that they have a variety of issues around the 2 year mark.
