His current car is an 05 Z06 that's 1069 hp at the wheels. I've driven his car and the power is mind numbing. Both are very capable cars in the right hands, but the Dodge is infinitely harder to drive fast. There is no forgiveness in the Viper. None. You had better onow your business when you strap in, and it doesn't care at all for indecision. You put it where you want it and it will stay there, but you better know where to put it. The Corvette, even with those power numbers is a lot more forgiving. This is not something I read, this is something I know. The only real way to compare these cars is to swap drivers and do everything twice. Then you can tell how much is the car and how much is the driver.

Viper was avoiding being blacklisted. If he is under a certain time he is required to have a certified cage installed before he is allowed to race again. And that stands for the life of the car. Not just that day
My street legal and quiet, emissions and AC intact ‘90 Stang LX 5.0 notchback was running 11.7 @ 124mph back in 1994. Based on what I’ve seen...My runs were not shabby at all compared to nowadays. Thoroughly impressed with what comes straight out of the factory. Oh....and my 11.7et’s.....there was more et to be found but it was my daily driver too. Had to drive it...easy. Like grandma.
jjs777fzr if you this that is impressive, my uncle had a 4 speed 1965 Vette 427 (435hp) running 11.6 and he had no second gear. Those 1965 427 vettes were beast and were rated at lower power so they can actually sell it. GM finally did release the true horse power and I believe it had around 570bhp. But, all those muscle cars lied about there horse power in those days. Did I mention that Vette had skinny tires and was spinning almost the whole way.

You don't seem to understand the concept I guess. Basically a Z06, minus the 7.0 in the C6's or supercharger on the C7's. Resale value is actually pretty decent to boot. I have a '10 triple Black 6-speed. There were less than 190 of this combo done in 2010.
The grand sport is an homage to the c2 race cars that were nearly stock but came in first and 8th at the 24hrs of Le Mans in 1960. Then ever since 1984 it has been a performance package added onto the base corvette. Since the c6 if you get a GS it comes with a z06 wide body, stickier tires, magnetic suspension, oil coolers etc.
The Viper had the best time of all the runs seen here. It hit the brake for some reason and still did 13 seconds in the second race against the vette which it lost for some reason. All drivers were double clutching and granny shifting except that last retro car. All shouls have been sub 12 seconds.
