What a treat! I love to see people so enthusiastic about their music. Good lessons, easy to follow. Cool sounds, clothes, guitars, everything! Thumbs up from me.

These lessons are fantastic. I’m a noob, so I really appreciate the break down and all the camera views. Looking forward to more! Now....if only I can convince my husband that we need a Gretsch Falcon in the toolkit. 😂
Well......Tom.....whenever you are ready to put your RUclips instructional videos on CD or even better DVD .....buy as many as you make.....I'm waiting !!! Text you in the past over this.....excellent work most appreciative for your generosity by sharing.
My wife just bought me a new Korean Gretsch electromatic, and I have been watching your videos at 1/2 speed and trying to play along to learn all these kool riffs. I will probably watch them over and over until I get the riffs down! Thanks for sharing these great videos.
I've been a metal guitarist all my life and i'm so gratefull to you, who made it easy for me to relearn the guitar with a music that i've been rediscovering. I'm 61 years old, and it's never too late to learn ... thanks again from Quebec, Canada
OK.. dude. your lessons so far are great. I seem to have a irresistible draw to this style of music. I attempted to participate in your youtube open mic but, once your part was complete I could not continue to watch the next musician. Probably because I wasn't subscribed to the next talent in the line up? IDK. Anyway, the only thing I can suggest to make your channel any better is perhaps a "listening lesson". For example a song or two that highlights the concepts you're teaching. Good luck man! I pray for lots of success for you and your channel.
Thank you Ronald! That's a good idea! You should be able to watch the next act on my Facebook page. They aren't linked up to my RUclips as of yet; I haven't figured that part out :) keep watching though, more to come! I appreciate your support!
"I should get a... leopard skin shirt " or " DA DA DA DA .. dippidy doo" that's how I will remember the cadence ! Enjoyed your three in a row lessons. Fun , easy and sounded good. I was better sounding with each of them. And I did like the leopard skin stuff ! Liked and subscribed ! Mike from Boston
I love your video's man and I of course love rockabilly music. Please make some more diminished/ jazzy hot licks/ runs and maby some ryhhm chord patterns (spicy chords) . Thanks al lot for sharing you're work. Love it... Mike
This is really good tutorial to sneak into rockabily. The first one, I watched from the beginning till the end without hopping. Gimme some mo´, baby!! I will stay tuned with my hungry Gretsch.
Tom your Rockabilly videos inspired me to go out and purchase a Gretsch G5410T Rat Rod. Keep the videos coming you are a positive influence on many aspiring guitarists . Keep up the great work and may you and yours have a better 2021.
My favorite was the diminished arpeggio licks....Being a metal player, I constantly use the diminished scale to get that exotic sound....and in rockabilly, it sounds totally badass......Great video
Your lessons and teaching style are great, thanks for posting these. A suggestion would be to show where the root is in the licks so they can be easily transposed to a different key or over a different chord.
Hi Tom. Cool channel I just tripped across! Fun and informative for someone like me just learning guitar. I never picked up a guitar until almost two years ago, I had no idea what I was getting into. I practice every day and see improvement every day but it’s turned out to be a lot more of a challenge than I originally “thought” Thanks again, I’ll be looking forward to your new lessons.
I really enjoy the way you walk through the instructions. If I could make a suggestion, you should go through your equipment and give breakdowns on the various gear the same way.
Again, nicely done! I've always had a great appreciation for Rockabilly. I'm glad you're doing this, it's very helpful. I'm hoping in future lessons you'll cover appropriate phrases over chords been utilized. Thanks!
Great vids ! I never really intended to play rockabilly but no doubt there are a lot of tasty licks and chords and you showcase them very well. Props for the camera work too\m/
These are great tuition videos. I play Big Band Jazz when we're not locked up, locked down or locked in by the Covod-19 pandemic and really enjoyed working through these lessons. Keep 'em coming. PDFs? Downloads?
Thanks David! All the licks are played in A but can be transposed to any key. Whatever the key is, make the first dim chord the same root as the key and it will work (eg - if youre in G start the lick with the first chord 2 frets lower than shown - x x 14 15 14 15 ). You can really make it work almost anywhere; dim chords are fun that way. Hope this helps, and enjoy!
Tom I have a Guild X 175 Manhattan. I am contemplating adding a Bigsby to it. Would B60 or B70 work. Thank you. I also have a Gretsch G2655T with a B50. Im trying to keep the cost down. lol! What do you reccommend. Thank you. BTW your videos are very clear and concise.. Thank you for posting.
Just talked to my friend and master luthier Tim at Atomic Guitars ( www.atomicguitarworks.com ). He said that he would need to measure to make sure, but typically, on an archtop, a B60 would probably be better because the angle from the bridge is already good. A B70 with the hold down bar is helpful for solidbodies that are flatter because it helps to give a sharper angle coming down from the bridge, while an archtop already has a good angle coming down from the bridge. Bear in mind that this is without seeing and measuring the guitar. Hope that helps! I will probably be having Tim guest on an upcoming video to talk about technical stuff, so watch out for that. Thanks!
@@tommein Thanks for the quick response brother. I don't plan on doing this for a while so I have time to plan. Thanks for the videos you do a good thing.
Just watched all three videos over twice... and I'm in the office haven't even got my guitar with me!! Excellent ideas and presentation. One, hopefully constructive, comment is that whilst I understand the licks are all moveable it may be an idea to indicate which key they are in and which chords they link when you play them to the tab. Would make it easier to transpose for newer players or those like me who struggle to pickup key signatures, although I think these are mainly in all in key of A? Thanks again for your hard work.
Thanks for watching Arch! Yes they are almost all in the key of a, and I will make the key more clear in upcoming vids. Check out video 4 , all the keys are listed :)
You are correct Edward. Good eye! Thank you for pointing that out; the tab was written incorrectly. I cant fix the tab in the video, but: Here is a link to the correct tab. drive.google.com/file/d/10gWNKlNCR-3zFH-I2wBaMLzmCPIQR3jp/view?usp=sharing
That is a great lick to play right before you change from the I to the IV chord, or any place there is a change from one chord to another. Thanks for watching!
Theres definately something very cool about these endings(and coconut shrimp!) but quite how its going to sound with my awful playing is another matter.
