Man, I really wish there were lessons like this readily available when I was starting out learning lead guitar. For me, a lot of it was like reinventing the wheel... That was really clear and concise.
As dreadful as the pandemic was, it was a boon for rockabilly guitar lessons on RUclips! Been learning from Damian for years and now we've got your stuff Jeff, El Nico, Adrian White, Ryan Bradley... a silver lining in an otherwise horrible situation.
Six string, Damian and Adrian Whyte, thanks all, I donalways have time to sit and pick things out off records, your lessons a great references for me, thanks again!
Cool comments here everyone, I really like Adrian Whyte’s lessons same as Paul and Rocco. I’m a big big fan of Randy Richter’s lessons too. Those two along with Damian’s and Jeff’s seem to be my favorites. 🤠 It’s a good community and I hope it not only keeps this wonderful music alive but helps it to thrive!
Hey Damien I'm an 82 year old geezer from Wales UK who loves your rockabilly teach in's. In my book you are the best and make the lessons do-able Happy disposition and a fantastic teacher and great player -what more could a guy want. Many many thanks. Ivor
I've been to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg about 15 times. It's been years ago but one fall we were there (Pigeon Forge) and every restaurant on the six lane had a long line of people standing outside! Soectacular in the fall and any other time; refreshes your soul...
What I really enjoy with your lessons is the musicality of them. They're not just glorified scales for speed and technique. There is a real melodic structure to them
That was a very important lesson for any guitarist that has not sussed out the major/minor overlap in rock. Great lesson doubly reinforced with onscreen tablature. Cheers.
Your hikes inspired me to check out Starved Rock hiking trails in Illinois, very fun and beautiful...lots of high look outs overlooking the Illinois River. Thanks for the lessons, I've been writing them down in my tab book ..
Hi Damian, I am very fortunate to have listned to this Video to the end ! What a anticipated Christmas present that is ....Thanks & be well. From São Paulo 🇧🇷 Best regards.
Another great lesson! Love being a you-tube student of yours. My ear has become so much better because of your lessons-thanks for these (and use the phrase "much love" as well!).
Nice one Damian, I was taught by a jazz guitarist and a crazy heavy rock guitarist and I never knew what these lines were called, the jazz guy would call out the chords and the rock guy would lauugh and say "just do this" so being a 12 year old keen as mustard student I did what they said and had a blast. The Rock guy went in to join a famous singer and tour the World and got paid well, he was ready bald at 25 but the band just bought him a wig and transformed him into a "Rock idol" ...he is still laughing today. The best thing is that all the other musos around him knew he was special but always made fun of him (cruel) in the end he had the last laugh by playing exactly what you played but through a Marshall double stack and an Overdrive box(and wig) !!!
Hello to sunny Florida from a cold, rainy and very expensive U.K. Another cracking lesson Damian. One of, if not the best guitar teachers on you tube. Great work buddie. Enjoy that sunshine over there and best wishes!!
I really enjoyed this video Damien. Its so cool that guys like yourself take the time to share your talents. I was born in the early 50's, and I'm envious of kids these days that want to learn guitar or any instrument for that matter ,that they can just go on You Tube and learn stuff in a short period of time, that took me years to learn by playing along with records by ear. That's a real sweet sounding Gretsch you have there too! Keep up the good work and those inspirational comments were a nice finishing touch. You have a new Subscriber...
It's good to see you online again. It's been a while (months) since I've caught any of your uploads. Great video. Blessings to you and your baby girl over there in Florida.
I was looking at Brian May’s work on “Keep Yourself Alive” and the algorithm brought me here. Thoroughly enjoyed the musicality and technique along with the extension into smooth soloing, molto bene.
8/31/23--I hope that you and your family came through the storm OK. I'm new to your channel, but enjoyed everything about it. The tabs and your camera angles made it super easy to learn, and I appreciated your inspirational message at the end. The backing track was an added bonus. Thank you so much!
Thank you. Glad you're enjoying the lessons. I was one of the fortunate ones that had no loss of power and no damage. About 7 miles away closer to the shore, many homes were flooded from storm surge. The Tampa Bay area really lucked out this time. Sadly our neighbors to the north of us weren't so lucky.
I was just watching a Chuck Berry video hearing a similar lick and thinking, that sounds great, ‘I should learn that!’ And then here this video is! Thanks dude, this is a great channel!
Damian, you look great and your english is really easily understandable. Your videos are stunning: simple, educational, well-constructed: the result was not long in coming. Thanks a lot. Just bought your book for rockabilly licks !!! Bravo !!! A french fan.
Hey he's right I remember first learning that and doors flew open.. cool doing it & staying on the one while the tune and the changes flow by.... It works!
Don’t play guitar meself, I was here just to cop the lick for my blues harp archive. I gotta say, your explanaitions are very clear and well thought out. Very well done sir.
Thank you Damien, terrific all of the way around, especially the cabin in the Smokies...wonderfully pleasant surprise...love that ! So well done , thank you !
Thanks Damien. Great video. Very informative. I will definitely try to work this into my playing. The cabin that you visited was very much like the cabin my father grew up in right there in the Smokies. Very interesting. Thanks for that also.
Great lesson Damian. I like the multiple angles that you used during the lesson. Very nice touch and helpful. Looking forward to seeing some footage of the Misfits tribute gig! I think you’re the only person that has as many band shirts as me LOL. By the way, Prince was one of my earliest arena shows. Saw him on the 1999 tour back in the very early 80s. The openers were the Time and Vanity 6. It was like the whole Purple Rain thing before Purple Rain existed (just with Vanity 6 instead of Apollonia 6). Cool shirt brother. Take care.
Wow, that must have been an awesome experience. Thanks for sharing. My next video will be footage from the Misfits Tribute Show. That's gonna be a fun video to edit. :)
Damian..i love your lessons..i see you have really evolved from your first videos..at almost 70 years old...i have learned so much from your stuff..please tell me what delay you use..so i can go get one..thank you sooooo much.
I Have been following you many years. Since the Time you posted "MY GIRL" Guitar lesson. I Wish Much Success and Happiness. You have the Gift :) .... Thank you HHH
this guy’s fingers are lethal, you know right away and can pull any chords , fingers like Lyle Mays (Pat metheny group).Hope he gets rich , cause he is real good at giving lessons and being cool. Keep up the hard work 🍻
Is it just me, or did I buy a mail order dvd from you many years ago??? I remember the production was very rough, there was no sort of booklet to follow along with, but the content was solid Rockabilly gold!!! I’ll have to go dig it up!.. Good to see you again and happy to subscribe…
Damian! Great lesson. As a slow learner, and a dream to play rockabilly, your lessons along with a positive message, are an inspiration. It's time to get serious! I shall check your site. Peace
No, sorry I don't. But all I did to create this was simply mic my amp with a Shure SM57 and run in into my Focusrite Scarlett Solo audio interface and used Ableton Live to record the track. Thanks for watching. :)
Man, I really wish there were lessons like this readily available when I was starting out learning lead guitar. For me, a lot of it was like reinventing the wheel... That was really clear and concise.
You ain’t wrong Jeff. I think about that periodically. Looks like I’m a couple lessons behind on your channel, hope to hit those yet this weekend.
Thank you very much Jeff. I'm a big fan of your channel as well. Keep on rockin' brother. :)

One of the best sounding guitar tones on ANY tutorial I have seen. Right up there with Tim Pierce & Andy Timmons
What I really enjoy with your lessons is the musicality of them. They're not just glorified scales for speed and technique. There is a real melodic structure to them
Thank you Anthony. :)
He's gotta be the nicest guy in guitar tutorials. Thanks for the lesson Damian!
Love your approach to instruction.
As a "Practicing Guitarist" since 1974, I really like your lessons.
That was a very important lesson for any guitarist that has not sussed out the major/minor overlap in rock.
Great lesson doubly reinforced with onscreen tablature. Cheers.
Thank you very much :)
