Megan Marie I love it so far, anything bigger requires a license in Canada, so the mini is perfect because I can fly it wherever I want. It is so small and pretty easy to use, so I would recommend it, especially for the price.
Super Creative thanks! i think it’s small enough for no license here in the US too! do dji drones ever go on sale? not sure if i should get it in the next month or so or wait a few more to see if there’s a better price
Megan Marie It won’t go on sale for a while because it is new and in demand. I say go for it, it is a great rush flying a drone and the photos and videos are well worth the price.
J Dirom Thanks! Yes, you cannot fly in city parks as there is a bylaw against it. Also anything heavier than a Mavic Mini will require an advanced license to fly in Vancouver. Provincial and National parks in the area are also off limits. I would avoid Coal Harbour and Stanley Park due to the large seaplane airport and heliport in the area. Have fun, fly safe!
Super Creative great shots. might be a good idea to google the Transport Canada map for drone flights, it’s a handy tool for checking how close you are to heliports and aerodromes. All your shots are in restricted airspace. I know it’s a “toy” drone, I own one myself... but you wouldn’t catch me flying in these areas.
Well, not every shot. All shots are legal with Transport Canada and the Civil Aviation Authority, but there may be a Parks Board bylaw against flying in city parks. They haven't responded to my request for clarification yet. The City of Vancouver told me there were no bylaws or laws against drones at this time. Transport Canada does not regulate where you can fly drones that are under 250 grams, so the Mini is a real game changer!
@@Robservatory oh! Good to know. I've stopped flying when I was advised not to fly in downtown Vancouver on a Facebook group, where they mentioned the Drone site selection tool .

Great video. I will be visiting Vancouver soon. Is there any bylaws to be aware of in the area? Cheers!

@@Robservatoryso bylaw includes micro drones?
J Dirom All drones, but I don’t know how strictly it is enforced. Probably not a big deal.
@@Robservatory appreciate the insight. Just trying to make sure I am not breaking the law during my trip. Thank you for your insight.

So every shot in this video is legal now? It's really tempting.
