JUST ORDERED ONE. And this is THEE most informative enlightening video on the subject, hands DOWN. I hear there is a firmware upgrade giving manual settings, but my Mini hasn't arrived yet so I don't know what that means yet. But i'm memorizing everything in this lesson regardless. THIS is how you MAKE a TUTORIAL. With actual INSIGHT, instead of just "repeating what someone else said" on a different channel and calling it "your thoughts." Thank you for that. UPDATE: I see a couple other channels teaching this same thing BUT those videos were all curiously uploaded a few weeks after this one. This still remains the first video to point this out, to me at least, and likely the source for a few other "tips" videos. Totally saw it here then made their own version of the same information.

I just got the Mavic Mini yesterday and took it up. This is my first drone. I need to take some Real Estate shots and this video is going to help me immensely! Thanks for the great tips!
Just bought the mini and I’m so excited to use it. Thank your for this tip. Couldn’t find anything short and to the point on controlling the exposure. All other videos say there is no way to mess with exposure which was a bummer. Most clips you see people film are just to bright with the mini so this helps out a lot. Thank you.
I'm still undecided if I'm gonna buy the mini or wait for the next generation to come out, but your tips and tricks are leading me, slowly, to consider buying the Mini ;) Thanks also for the e-book!

Just ordered a Mavic Mini and I'm looking forward to getting it. My Drone video highlighting the best shots of Northwest BC Canada of the year premiers on November 12! go to my channel to set a reminder so you don't miss out!
This channel has the best tips for getting the best video and photos from a drone. It was invaluable in helping me understand and controls settings on my Mavic Mini for must higher quality videos. Thanks, Drone Film Guide.
Only had my Mavic Mini for a couple of days so this video was very timely. I have 40+ years of still photography experience so I'll be using the AE Lock a lot. Also I'm surprised by the number of features DJI managed to include in this entry level drone.
Just got a Mavic Mini and getting to grips with the flight / photography controls. Also I came across your channel too when looking for tips on videography and for editing media, the Filmora programme, version 10 - and produced my first, short drone video - your tips for that were totally cool - thank you so much. Keep well, stay safe, all the best, regards, Neil.

So I'm really loving my MM, and now watching your video I intend to try some shots to see how post processing turns out. Thank you for your unbiased input, we appreciate it.
Stewart, I’m really enjoying your content on this channel and value the helpful tips. This episode was very eye opening when you showed the AE lock etc., what a difference! I’m currently waiting to get my Mavic Mini sometime in mid December. I look forward to any future Mini related info you may have, but I suspect I’ll find other content you share useful as well. Thanks!
Fabulous video. Having never owned a drone till yesterday, I bought it to enhance my story telling to more than just my DSLR. I shoot in Raw and was concerned that the quality of the videos I would get would be poor, but I continue to be impressed with this little drone. Thanks for the video and the eBook!
Hi Stewart, My Mini arrived Thursday. Santa says I can not open til Dec 25. Thanks again for the tip on AE lock. Fly safe. Merry Christmas to you and Alina!
the shutter speed matters. If you shoot at 30fps, the shutter speed should stay around 1/60. So in low light, you boost the ISO to keep it as 1/60. In strong light...you add filter on your drone lens. With no control of ISO , aperture and shutter speed,...well your footage will be garbage. I love this drone for travel . Will not use for commercial shoot of course.
Just bought myself one of these for Xmas (my first drone) there's so much to learn and so many different reviews, however your channel really explains the do's & don'ts Just subscribed 👍
DJI have to add White balance because it's not any upgrade for me as a DJI Spark user.. ok 25min flight is good but having a spark with 5 batteries.. I currently say NO do DJI Mavic Mini - sorry.. btw. another great video. Just downloaded your Drone Film Guide - it is so handy! I thanks !:D
It's only after seeing this video that I bought the Mini - a big THANK YOU :-) P.S. Today the new firmware brings more manual settings in video and 24 fps.
Together with being extremely helpful your PDf guide 'From Drone Zero To Drone Hero' is also gorgeous. Can you recommend any tutorials on creating similar PDF layouts? Cheers
Awesome. This is how I got my gopro to expose how I wanted it. So simple, I would have never thought of it for this drone! Thank you!! Now if only we could deal with that white balance... It messes with my panoramas a lot...
Just registered for the Free E-Book, I have to say, it's pretty hard to read!! The Photography is simply toooo gooood!! Gorgeous photos! Happily distracting the text lol Thank you for the valuable beautifully made resource. Awesome Ebook, awesome videos!
Please do an updated video for all of us using a Mavic Mini! Would love to see what you could teach us with all the features that have opened up in the past 11 months since this video.
This is really really helping me, with this drone. I can see that the app has work arounds available, but I stupidly didn't get more batteries so I have limited testing time. Thanks for this.
Received my mavic mini just in time for my trip to scotland next week. Btw, there is full manual control of the shutter. Its accessable through the small camera icon on the bottom right corner that usually says Auto. By clicking on it you switch to manual exposure mode and have full iso and shutter control.
Great content great advice. Just unpacked and briefly hovered the mini (indoors), looking forward to getting outdoors at the weekend. AE lock tip will be invaluable. Many thanks.
How about a guide showing us non film pro’s showing the proper way to use the new firmware with manual video controls? Love you stuff! Thanks for the hard work
Dealt with this today. Sun was coming in and out of clouds, subjects appeared to be over-exposed. Also had strong gusts going on here in the Smoky Mtns, drone didn’t miss a beat. Steady as a rock.
My guy. I'm 1:40 in and giving that subscribe button the slap down. This is going to be amazing. Going to be checking out a bunch of your stuff. Thank you so much for this video. Huge love from Canada :)
Fantastic tips, learning new things about my Mavic Mini even though I've had it almost a week and not flown it yet!!! Hopefully it'll stop raining soon!!!! 🙁🤔⚠️
@@marky1010 It's rained almost everyday for the past month! New to Drones & bought myself a Mavic Mini. I was going to buy some ND filters until I saw your video on the subject. I’ve watched 2 of your videos now, You’ve saved me money & ive found the videos very informative. Also dl 2 of your ebooks. TYVM
ND filters are mainly better if you want to reduce your shutter speed even with the Exposure Value set. There are some cases where a lower shutter speed produces a more desirable effect during motion as opposed to having something well above 1/1000th of a second and matching it up with other camera footage shot at 24fps f/2.0~4.0 , with the shutter kept around 1/48~1/60 for more natural looking motion blur. Though I'm not sure this is that entirely important with the drone footage, but that is why the ND filters are still typically desired.
Great advise and tips. Love the videos. Just bought a Mini today, cant wait to get started. And of course, just subscribed, liked and hit the bell! Awesome Job!
