Epic, Stewart I just followed your advice in Nazare< Portugal and managed to get an epic take, thanks mate! Always following you to get some good advice for my filming
Outstanding, Stewart!!! Haven't seen these tips before but they are spot on! Love the idea of selecting an inanimate object instead of a human subject so you get better stability and smoother track!!! Cheers!
Hi, I just want to let me know that there's an account replying to comments on your channel that's mimicking your identity and tries to scam viewers of your channel, Have a look in the replies to comments!
Super idea! I've not been particularly pleased with the Active Track on the Mini 3. I will try these tips. Thanks! And that last downward crane reveal was spectacular!
Great Video! Out of curiocity why is the obstacle avoidance unavailable for such shots? Feels weird when active tracking has obstacle avoidance available
Great tips here! This is very helpful and the footage is much more stable! Thanks! We notice that our Mini 3 Pro constantly changes the camera settings back to default - mp4/normal/h264. Does this happen after firmware updates? Do you have any insight on this?
Great video, Stewart. Can you say where this was shot? I will be in Scotland in two weeks and would love to see this place with my own eyes. Thank you in advance.
hello I have a problem. I made a video where i fly in a straight line for 8 min, but when i speed it up, you can see small movements. Is there any program to fix this?
Great Tips! I have a question! Does anyone know how to lock the screen on the remote controller, so i can put it away in my bag while dji is in following mode. Thanks for the one who knows the answer.
Stewart, I'm sorry. I've been watching your tutorials since your first Dji Mini 1 video, and i subscribed just now. 👍 I don't know why I didn't do this sooner, and I'm sure most people do. Even though they regularly watch and learn from them, they do not subscribe. FOR OTHERS WATCHERS READING THIS I'm begging you, don't do that! You will definitely come back to Stewart's videos, and by subscribing you will help him develop the channel.
Hey Stewart. As always really helpful video. I’ve been trying this out for a bit. And when I get the gps point locked it’s great. But often I struggle with getting the Spotlight box to change to the Point. Is there a preferred movement to get it to switch quickly?
Hey! Not really as far as I can see. Sometimes it changes quite quickly and sometimes it takes a lot more movement of the drone to get it to switch. But no, I haven't identified a strategy as such.
Being new.... Time 00:59. What makes that yellow rectangle start? Tapping the screen? Where? Just tried on a MINI 3 PRO but didn't manage to get it starting. This make the rest of Your video having no meaning.
this video... is very good! made me imagine some new ideas for a sequence, and your framing / cinematography is really quite good! keep it up! P.S. where were you filming? can you share the locations? the look of some of those landscapes is really foreign to me =) tnx
Brilliant video, explains how the system works and how to get the most out of it. Far and away the best tutorial on these tracking features I’ve seen, and I’ve seen plenty because months into ownership still can’t get them to work properly. Thanks Stewart and Alina. 👍
I'm going out tomorrow to test the lock, them fly away with HYPERLAPSE COURSE LOCK. One of my favorite moves is course lock with a subject for the fly-by swing around flight., but any large distance prevents selection. If this works, I owe you... something. We will test first, then negotiate, lol 😆
Im back, after two days -one got called for rain, and yep - the "select first, then fly away, backward. The smaller selection box, once enabled, stays without getting "subject lost" errors - absolutely fantastic! Video coming soon.
@mattkl4292 It WORKS! Incredibly well, exceeded my expectations. Fire up Hyperlapse, select Course Lock, get within 75- 100 meters, set course lock direction, and start flying back. I went back 1000 meters on one test, and it never loses subject. Then do the fly-by even a speed, and the drone will whip around, and fly backwards as it passes the subject. Of course you can go super slow as well. Any scenario you need to lock on a subject; Focus Track as Stuart demonstrates here will hold the subject once it changes to a GPS point vs a visual reference 😉 - build on his discovery! I made a video, crediting Stuart, but it never got uploaded, for unrelated reasons. The word is go!
Very worthwhile getting to know these tips. Thanks for a great explanation. Loved the last shot of "Man having a pee atop a large rock" ... or is it just me??
Thank you so much! I switched to the Air2S for my job, and it was driving me crazy losing the pin on real estate shots. Can't wait to get back to my drone to give this a shot!
Great tip, this really does work well. I discovered this recently by accident, and have doing it ever since. But I don't have the epic landscape of Highlands like you do to film at. Great video Stewart, thanks for sharing.
Thanks for sharing! I haven't used Focus Track much but after my last few boring flights, I can see that I need to start again. Thanks for the demonstrations and encouragement. I'm on it!!!!
Thanks very much Stewart, this is a very valuable tutorial and I use this all the time now. I had already seen that the pointer is much more stable than the cross but never knew how to go from cross to pointer, now I do and that is welcome. What I still have problems with is when you are tracking a boat, for example, and that boat gets closer and thus gets bigger and turns away, then the tracking can't handle it anymore and falls away from the target. I usually solve that by flying on cine and just flying out of hand, with the stick smoothness at maximum you can also fly nice epic out of hand. Greetings from the Netherlands and I am jealous of the beautiful scenery at your place!
Brilliantly done. Thanks!
It’s like watching the Lord of the rings!
Does this hack work with the D-Cinelike profile? I don't have nice weather to check it out by myself.
Epic, Stewart I just followed your advice in Nazare< Portugal and managed to get an epic take, thanks mate! Always following you to get some good advice for my filming
How u doing?.super~ so awesome -see u around~ Stewart-📢
Amazing ! I believe that even the guys from DJI don't know this hack ! ! !
Outstanding, Stewart!!! Haven't seen these tips before but they are spot on! Love the idea of selecting an inanimate object instead of a human subject so you get better stability and smoother track!!! Cheers!
Boom 💣 💥... this is gold !! You have the best backdrop to shoot drone footage... spectacular scenery 👌
I'll be going out and practice these hacks. Thank You!

Beautiful. Please explain how you get that smooth speedramp. Mine seems jerky. Thanks.

Fantastic tips bud will be trying that out 👍
I still don't use these auto settings as well as I should. Thanks for the continued inspiration !
Awesome location. On my location there 50 meter high trees everywhere where I can crash into 😅
Hi Stu love how exciting you are 😀 on this awesome landscape, but I don't see anything.how to get there, do you parachute in .LOL. JOJO San Diego
Awesome video Stewart, I will try to put this to use next time I fly my drone!
Great video, Stewart. Can you say where this was shot? I will be in Scotland in two weeks and would love to see this place with my own eyes. Thank you in advance.

Nice video. Is it possible to track a steamlocomotive using Active Track?
Can you make this same video with the MINI 3 standard or MINI 2 drone?
Wow, brilliant. I have never tried that, cant wait to get out and give it a go for myself 😁
Very helpful tips, Stewart! 💪🏼👊🏻👍🏼
very clever!!!!! liking this 💪
could you do a video of how not to crash into a pier and then into the water please? 😂 (oooops)
Discovered and used this for an establishing shot in our latest video for a sign maker. Such a great way to combine 2 or more shot types as well!
Always helpful tips mate appreciate it !
Good one, Stewart! Cheers! Much appreciated")
This is a great tip / hack! Properly useful and something I hadn’t thought of. Thanks!
this is a great one. well done guys. keep killing it.
Brilliant hack. Never thought of that.

Great video; very helpful and beautiful scenery.
Is a landscape similar to *Death Stranding* :)
nice tips yo..but how did you get there?
Is this possible with the dji mini 2 also?
I love the place i wish I'm rich so i can visit it in the future
What RC are you using in this video?
Great tips mate 🇮🇪📍🏴
Very nice video Dude, thx !
Brilliant! Thank you :)

what drone did you use for the video?
Thank you sooo much !
I'm already a follower of your channel but I didn't watch yet this very , very useful video !
Glad you're finding some of the older videos!
Interesting! 👍👍 thanks for that
Awesome as ever..thank you..
thank you very much!

What makes that yellow rectangle start?
Tapping the screen? Where?
Just tried on a MINI 3 PRO but didn't manage to get it starting. This make the rest of Your video having no meaning.
The yellow square is where the drone is focusing on the subject.
Damn... this is so goooooood !!!!
💪💪💪Dji M3 classic review ???
thanks for sharing this! i thought this would be some basic knowledge that everybody knew already
Thank you. A massively helpful video 👍
Dude! THANKYOU so much!! I love using the quick shots but the random choppiness annoyed me. Will be doing this all the time from now on
Fantastic tips - thanks! I downloaded your free ebook.
Great to hear!

Thank you so much! I switched to the Air2S for my job, and it was driving me crazy losing the pin on real estate shots. Can't wait to get back to my drone to give this a shot!
Does this also work on the original dji mavic air?
I don't recall the DJI Go4 app having this functionality.
Great tip, this really does work well. I discovered this recently by accident, and have doing it ever since. But I don't have the epic landscape of Highlands like you do to film at. Great video Stewart, thanks for sharing.
Great tips!
Clever tricks!
Thanks, really useful
Brilliant tip, I have been having similar problems with focus track. So obvious, once someone shows you how! 😂
Thanks for sharing! I haven't used Focus Track much but after my last few boring flights, I can see that I need to start again. Thanks for the demonstrations and encouragement. I'm on it!!!!

Another great tip, guys! I didn’t know you could change the subject lock to a point lock of sorts. Thanks again.
Aaaaamzing!!! I’ve been flying for months without knowing it! Thank you!
Love your videos. Super useful.
Brilliant work as always stewart, i use the same method with my Mavic 3 cine!!
Hi there ! Excellent tip, would it work with Mavic 2 Pro ?
Don't think so! I'm struggling to remember the DJI Go 4 interface for the intelligent flight modes though so apologies if I'm wrong!
@@DroneFilmGuide No worries ! I'll try anyway when I can. That tip is awesome tho, thx a lot
Awesome tutorial! Thanks for sharing pal!!
Well, there you go... genuine, no nonsense damn good tip! Thanks!
Excellent video. Such great value! Thank you!
