I just need to test it again ( haven't had the chance yet) and understand how improve the workflow etc Never heard about Litchi, what's that?
@@JRidesTheWorld I also have a Mini3Pro but I crashed it on day one from our last trip🙈 (got a new one tho). Not that I don't like active-track. Can do great things. But....GPS follow-me works much better on a bike. Pretty stupid DJI drones don't have it. Only with a 3th party app like Litchi of Maven. And those won't work (yet) with the Mini 3. So basically a Mini 2 is a better choice for now.
@@JRidesTheWorld Judge for yourself. ruclips.net/video/rp_G20lUmZA/видео.htmlsi=Ugq1zhTmy5zfp8oh Notice how I completely disappear behind the trees but it still follows. As important is a homepoint update option. You don't want having to race back. What the Fimi A3 doesn't do is point the camera at me when I use the sticks. My funny $135 L109 Pro does. So I can do fly-by's etc keeping me in the frame. I curious if that is possible with Litchi or Maven? Going into the settings is just a pain. You simply put the drone where you want and start follow-me. There aren't that many that do it right. Most only follow from behind which is useless. Can't see what it is doing.
@@JRidesTheWorld The Fimi A3 is amazingly accurate and responsive. I can have it fly half a meter in front of me and never crash into it at any speed. Last time I bought a C-Fly Faith Mini thinking the follow-me was good. But unfortunately it's total crap. I can't use the sticks. And it goes all wacky. Even flying it manually from my bike is a disaster. Because the best shots you actually get by flying it with the sticks. The follow-me feature is to keep the drone with you whether you are filming or not. People hardly ever use optical active-track in real life. It's a great feature don't get me wrong. But if you're on a bike tour or something follow-me is much quicker, much more user friendly. It's ridiculous DJI drones don't have it. Unless you use a third party app.
@@JRidesTheWorld I don't know if Maven already works with the DJI Mini 3 Pro? But if so I would buy the app and the old simple DJI controller. I don't think you can install Litchi or Maven on the smart controller? I could be wrong. Of course the smart controller is fantastic. But optical active-track can be extremely annoying. You have to stop and ride back all the time. Follow-me is just put the drone in the air and push the button. Never loses you. It's fair to say that active-track may get more interesting shots. But follow-me is more practical if you're in a hurry. When it takes half an hour for 30 seconds footage I just bother and ride on. I don't have time for that.
You were so excited. Glad to see it!

@@stevesjourney7000 it does work, I can confirm. You just draw the square around you and then spread/open your arm right after. Give it a try and let me known
@@JRidesTheWorld I'll definitely try that
I also have this drone, and it's super annoying, it loses me very very often.....I am curious if there is something better than Mini3 Pro with active track....but maybe in the near future the SW will improve and it will work better and better
Better wait until the mini3 works with Litchi, tracks much much better👌🏻
But don't get me wrong, i like the drone overall to get nice footage. I'm planning to use the active track mode mainly in offroad so the speed won't be the issue. I just need to test it again ( haven't had the chance yet) and understand how improve the workflow etc
Never heard about Litchi, what's that?
@@JRidesTheWorld I also have a Mini3Pro but I crashed it on day one from our last trip🙈 (got a new one tho).
Litchi is a app that let’s you fly waypoint missions and does the tracking by following the controller signal, so it follows even under the trees😉
This is a test I did with my Mini2, that one works with Litchi (got a but lucky😂).

@@GilbertVanE66 wow those electricity cables 😱 so close!!
@@JRidesTheWorld Yes, I don’t think I can do that twice😃
And about our last trip, the footage was also good without the M3P (so they say)🤘🏻

I'm going to buy one so I can do the same thing.
Dji can you see this?
ahaha i hope so!
thanks for video made my mind up drones not for me on bike
Can’t see your hand onscreen!
Sorry I didn’t get it?
You forgot to put the drone on (Sport) mode bud maybe next time :)
I tried but it didn’t really change the speed while in tracking mode. Did it work for you?
Maybe he should try it on sports mode 🤔
I did try in Sport Mode but the speed doesn’t change 😢
maybe you need to change to sports mode
haven't tried that yet
Try going under some trees, you will lose it.
Looks like DJI STILL has work to do. It lost you way too many times to even to be worth much more the $300
That thing is junk IJS...
I have to do another video on this, because I flew many more times after this and saw improvements! Yet it’s not perfect
Pilot rookie mistakes....
What did i do wrong?
@@tdc7 😂 why?
Not that I don't like active-track. Can do great things. But....GPS follow-me works much better on a bike. Pretty stupid DJI drones don't have it. Only with a 3th party app like Litchi of Maven. And those won't work (yet) with the Mini 3. So basically a Mini 2 is a better choice for now.
Never tried GPS follow-me! Is it worth it?
@@JRidesTheWorld Judge for yourself. ruclips.net/video/rp_G20lUmZA/видео.htmlsi=Ugq1zhTmy5zfp8oh
Notice how I completely disappear behind the trees but it still follows.
