Two things to note here:
1) This is almost exactly as Erina and Soma.
2) Finally people know why he wanted to make perfect dishes only. Sure, he was ruthless to both his daughter and the cuisine world but at least he had good intentions.
Edit: On the 1) I meant about how the guys were trying to impress their respective girls with their cooking and their girls saying they were disgusting.

That is why I really like Erinas dad as a character and villain. He became evil because two of the people he held dear were hurt by the gourmet world so he decided to fight back. What a caring individual he is

Yeah, it's hard to believe that Azami would've run the Nakiri business endeavors for so long without recognizing simple economics interfering with his dream goal. Fast food is always going to stay because poor and middle class people are not going to pay an arm and leg for food. The second that gets tried, the only thing on the menu will be the rich.

Both their methods were stupid.
Azami's plans were boarding on insane troll logic levels. It was essentially to turn Totsuki and all of Japan into rigid high class gourmet resturants only...somehow. And there's so many things wrong with that idea that you can write an entire essay on it.
And Mana as cute as she may be is one of the biggest issues with the last season SnS. The introduction of super powers or that the skills and abilities of the chefs being taken so literal that they are essentially superpowers. The God Tongue being one such ability.
@@Monty2289 Mana desperately searching for unique skills shows one of the themes of the show, everyone thinks that the best cooks are the ones with the most talent, it's a sign that people lose sight of what's really important about cooking, which is inspiration, something that Soma has way more than anyone else

They wouldn’t have done it because it would be admitting that there is a problem, that their method is wrong, that their actions and mindsets are anything but beneficial/for the greater good. And most importantly, their pride wouldn’t handle it
For some reasons anime would rather have misunderstandings and unnecessary problems due to lack of communication than just admitting that they were wrong. Granted, some characters actually live off being wrong or can admit to it, but they refuse to seek proper treatment or don’t have the access to it. Though really finding someone willing to listen to your rambling shouldn’t be so hard, you’re unlikely to see them ever again unless you’re married or something

Lool when I first saw the clip where erina hated on the breast milk lol I was shocked she was insulting her mum’s milk but really it was just a random woman 😅
Back then it was normal to have a wet-nurse for the sake of the mom being either to busy or her milk supply not being enough to have a healthy baby.

At the beginning I thought Azami married Erina’s mom only to be a Nakiri and fulfill his plan, I’m glad they actually loved each other in their way, they are one of my favorite couples in food wars

Ah, so similar to Souma's mother rekindling Jouichiro's passion for cooking, Erina's mother rekindled Azumi's passion for cooking?
Then when both wives left their lives, they fell back. Then their children helped get them back.
This does explain Azami's actions in the last season a bit more. Just how he wanted perfection in Totsuki. How his wife shaped him into the father he was towards Erina. It makes more sense now

It's amazing to see the similarities with Soma and Erina along with Erina's parents. Soma is going to be the one who not only brings her parents to the light but how his and Erina's kid will be raised in a wholesome environment. Learning to be humble.

Well the mother did legit just leave them both, and it wasn't like she did it because of Azami (Erina's dad). Tbh despite her parents deep down loving her and wanting to essentially make everyone create perfect dishes, they both were involved in the abuse of Erina which sucks.
@@jasonhd9294 In my opinion Mana was the worse of the two. Azami might have been abusive directly, but at least he did show some concern for Erina wellbeing, if an extremely twisted one. Mana on the other hand just abandoned her, and sometimes indiference and neglect hurt a lot more than direct abuse.
Neither can win any prize for parent of the year, of course. They'd do well to take notes from Joichiro.

For those comparing this to erina and soma. Although it may seem like it at first, its more like all these top cooks keep meeting like this. Soma's dad also created a family with someone that brightened his path of cooking. Well Soma will most likely be a happy ending per se for one reason only: He is not a genius so he improves for the sake of those he cares about. So if the story is set right, Soma is the perfect match for Erina and her mother alike.

Just imagine what Mana went through when she tasted Erena's final dish. Like, it must have been like someone with debilitating constant pain feeling three hours of painless relief. I'm glad they didn't show the moment Mana declared Erena the winner. It allows our imaginations to run wild with speculation.

It's funny that erina is like her parents in many ways, all of them are perfectionists and they act haughty towards those who aren't on their level. At least Erina and her dad aren't as haughty as before in this season.

At the end of this episode it mentioned that the next episode was the series finale. Ugh. I dont mind but...I hope its in a least 2 parts, because the "final battle" just started and that would mean with only one episode left...only maybe half an episode at most to close out the series. Thats not nearly enough time. Unless they do some kind of epilogue episodes, that would be cool.
