I think it’s more the fact that Soma’s father was the only who could ever make food as good as he did. Until her fav chef’s son entered the picture and she unwilling became drawn to him

@@guillaume6820 Most likely take him in. The main reason she refused to let him pass was his attitude. I magine she would be more willing to give him slack if she saw him as Saiba's son. Especially as she would not be nearly as annoyed by actually enjoying the mean, since it is prepared by direct relative of Saiba. Grantedit is just a theory. A manga theory.
I love of everybody is completely obsessed with Saiba but he and Souma just couldn't care less about it 😂😂

@@jogymogy3691 I don’t know about that. I didn’t really like her because of her arrogant attitude and condescension when I first saw her, but I think she’s getting better. Remember she was forced and treated harshly by her father. I’d like to think that she feels guilty of treating Soma badly because of his background and she didn’t realize who his father was. I also think that she did start to have a bit of a crush on him but her pride won’t admit it. She knew his cooking was good during the admission exam, but her pride and her inability to admit that she’s wrong is why she refused to admit him. She would always blush whenever he would talk to her, so she was definitely developing a crush on him, but she was too proud to admit it. He’s humanizing her.
Update: I am currently on episode six of season three and I have started to feel sorry for her. It’s to be expected in anime where the antagonist has a tragic past and are what they are now.

I love seing erina face when she realises her idol is somas father, it just goes through her mind and explains all about him and what she truly thinks about him. They did this scene incredibly well

this is probably one of the best scenes in this show. just the wait and hype itself is awesome, and the perfect timing and execution of the reveal is just amazing.
They executed this so perfectly and tastefully. I have watched this one scene so much and holy shit for some reason it nearly brings me to tears.
This moment is the best for me, Erina knowing who soma's dad is ,plus the great transition of the scene and the music, absolute goosebumps every time I watch this.

That's what i think at first too, but after rewatching it and re-read the manga I realized that erina stop wanting to expel soma after the autumn competition, the proof of that is the scene where she gave an advice to soma on how to work his recipe for the moon festival, and reminding him that if his booth lose money he will be expelled. So that's why even before knowing that soma is saiba's son she still in good side for me.

@MikroZ OnYT It could be argued that, at that point, he gained a grudging respect from Erina, as he proved to her that he wasn't all talk with his speech, and he was a legitimately skilled chef. Plus, him becoming friends with Hisako after they worked together probably made Erina figure that he couldn't be as bad as she assumed.

I know this anime was never a perfect anime and it had some loopholes here and there, season 5 was a completer bummer too. but subjectively this is one of the best anime i've seen, the nostalgic factor , the enjoyment i get and the pure hapiness that i get from watching this anime is way too much, that can easily make me forget all of the flaws of this anime
