Erina and her Dad always treats Joichiro like he's a cooking god, while everyone else is amazed that he's a former second seat. Soma is aggravated as hell with him for randomly showing up to be his embarrassing old man, even if he still wants to be a better chef than him.
3Rayfire because he is a cooking god. Being a father is different from being a chef. Yes i can understand your point of view of him as a father but as a chef, i can agree on how much respect they gave to him. The only reason he went away and travel is to ease himself and forget his depression. Although Soma is kinda abandoned, for the character of Joichiro, it is best to go as far away from something that makes you feel like life is not that worth of living anymore. The guy is depressed on what happened to him so I will not judge him that much.
And then the new arc in the manga comes along and shits on everyone's expectations of Joichirou.

@@hououinotaku2819 he got shitting and jobbed by a retarted character (that after got 3-0 by soma)which made no type of sense. They really killed and ruined this manga by introducing asahi.
The thing is, Joichiro's cooking was so good that he could have taken the 1st seat from Gin if he wanted to, but he left Totsuki to pursue his own dreams and to further improve his cooking.

I feel like Takumi Aldini isn't getting the love he deserves. He doesn't care that the LITERAL COOKING GOD just entered the fray. He isn't fazed about the fight for him and the last remaining rebels to take seats on the ten. He's unwavering in his ultimate goal of saving his brother and his friends. He stands shoulder to shoulder alongside a rag tag rebellion fighting giants and the only thing on his mind is the salvation of those he loves. Takumi is without a doubt the personification of passion for the rebels.
Sorry to pop the bubble but, the thing with this comment is yeah, so is literally every other person in this rebellion lol. They want to save their friends and the place they love. A little odd that you focused on one small cog rather than the whole machine tbh, but everyone has their favorites.

Even back when they were students azami look up to joichiro like a god, he was doing things that went beyond expectations back then even when joichiro pulled a 1 vs 50 Shokugeki which proved his moniker as asura azami was in sheer awestruck by his skills. By the time azami learns his beloved senpai left totsuki it kinda made him snaps in a sense slowly distorting his mentality to the point he became what he is now, the very monster Erina feared for more than a decade. Now azami finally enacting his plan and out of the blue his senpai comes to his doorstep wagering his restaurant and his life in etarnal servitude to him of course he's going to have and euphoria at the proposal

The failing of Nakamura here is he's trying to make Gourmet cooking Uniform. Gourmet cooking by nature can't be uniform because the whole idea behind Gourmet cooking is artistry and showing off an individual Chef's skills. I want to go to a certain Chef's restaurant because of that chef, not because of a certain dish.
Darkeklaw Yeah, I never really got the point of him taking over Tootsuki(?). If he wanted, he could have easily started his own school and taught his methodology, and I wouldn't have minded, even though it does nothing to improve their critical thinking and reaction under pressure. While I dislike TS's methods of instant expulsion, it does contribute to their rate of quality, making sure the students are actually prepared for the business. Azzhole just wanted the name and fame to destroy the game.

You do kinda have to respect Nakamura though. He wants equality for all chefs...not just the talented ones like Erina or Hayama. I do disagree with bbn his methods though. He's going about his ideals the wrong way, but has good intentions.
