@@ineedandrenaline I disagree. The MK5 is the perfect size for a sports car, nothing beats a inline six and bmw makes the best. And with a tune and bolt on parts the Supra eats Camaros a mustangs.

Based on the yearly continuous improvements on the Supra, I’m willing to bet that they’ll announce a Supra Targa next year.
Maybe you're right. All I know there was a video, I think on Toyota channel, where they showed a workshop convert one to Targa. About a year ago.
If Toyota released like a million special editions for this car, then that would be great. Kinda like the E36 BMW or C7 Vette
@@andycalifornia426 There’s a video somewhere I think it might have been Savagegeese, but it was stated that Toyota plans on making continuous improvements on the Supra to increase yearly sales. Hence the power bump, and now the manual. I know the GRMN was thrown around, but I think that’ll be Toyota’s last card.

I doubt they'll do a targa - it's not exactly a popular feature. I am betting they'll stuff the S58 engine in it once the new M3 and M4 are a few years old.
I talked to a local dealer and said that they haven’t been allocated any models but they already have 5 people on their “wait list” from around the country who are willing to pay a nominal “market adjustment” premium all ahead of me should they be allocated one.

The Toyota dealer I use to work at didn’t even have a “list”. It’s all luck and right timing. Can’t wait to see which dealer is going to overly mark this one up.

There’s something about dropping down into 2nd gear in manual transmission car and flooring it, slamming through gears that never gets old
Thank you for pushing this car like it’s meant to be driven. Other reviewers didn’t quite capture it well but you did perfect with good shifting actions for us to know what the car is like.
Was excited to finally get some info on how the clutch feels! Never had a car where reverse is far left without a reverse lockout. Is it risky to engage reverse instead of first?
nvm that would be weird without a reverse lockout read that wrong
Having used quite a few BMW shifters...they make it really easy to distinguish 1st from reverse. When you go into reverse, it feels more "springy", but going into 1st, it feels smooth.
Goin into reverse it has a feel of like an extra clunk so you know you’re in reverse

There is a reverse lockout actually, you have to push the stick to the far left through a gate. It takes enough force that you would very likely never put it in reverse on accident.
Great Video! Don’t know if this was already mentioned in another comment but the B58 in this car and other BMW products is a single turbo straight six. The “Twin Power” just means twin scroll turbo. The S58 in the full fledged M products is twin turbo.

My first car was an automatic Scion FRS boosted to 400hp, my third is now a stock BRZ but I bought it in manual (first time ever driven manual), after a full day of stalling I learned to drive it and its well worth shifting over to a manual for anything and already feel like trading in this BRZ to buy a manual Supra. Any stock BRZ/ GT86 owner knows these are not that fast of cars, but having the manual taught me that I don’t need to go fast like my automatic FRS to have fun I just need a stick shift and a couple 5hp stickers. 😊

The whole car is manufactured and assembled by a third party company in Austria called Magna Steyr. The Supra isn’t a Japanese or German made vehicle.

Beautiful! 🎉 If I had to nit pick, I would have wanted the shifter lowered 1 inch, and some kind of nickel finished ring around the shifter to dress it up. Plus, the style of the wheels makes them look smaller than they are. But what a ton of FUN!!!
Love the car! Love the manual. Really wish they made the steering wheel design a bit more modern with a smaller diameter center. Looks awkward to my eyes.

Beautiful car all around without too many things to criticize, however if there is one thing I'd like to criticize is the stylization of the steering wheel for this car. It's a steering wheel that could easily belong in a Sienna minivan, it's way too cushy and soft looking for such a raw and aggressive sports car.
Make it a targa top(production version) and I’m in LOL
Waiting for my Base 3.0 allocation to come through in October. Super pumped for the slower but more fun version of a great little sports car.

Only criticism I have is the electronic ebrake. If it had a manual handbrake, that would’ve been the cherry on top.

Huge fan of your videos. Was super excited when you finally got to review the manual Supra (this is like my 10th time watching this video). I noticed the auto stop-start button is still present in the manual. Do you know if it is still functional? I personally hate the function and wished they removed it. Thanks!
