Thank You. As for the Supra manual, I think it was long overdue not sure if anyone said anything during the first batch about it being auto. I thought they would have made it one because they do have other cars in manual or you can request them in manual as you can with Honda.

    Hearing that Toyota almost immediately began work on a manual transmission in response to customer's asking for it matters more to me than them actually making a manual Supra. It shows that Toyota is paying attention, and is responding to consumer feedback. Now we just need them to ramp up planned production numbers on the GR Corolla and crack down on markups.

    I think not only does this car have lots of bmw influence obviously. But I think from now on bmw will have Toyotas influence bleed through in every car they make. From turbo engine tuning, to suspension all the way down to assembly line and manufacturing. And you can already see the improvement in bmw cars coming out.

    Thanks for the video. This 100% redeemed Toyota in my eyes is the reason why this car is at the top of my shortlist for my next sports car. Yes everyone is pushing EVs for the future but people can't look past the amazing "attainable" sports cars we have now and all with manuals. We have the Mazda Miata, the Veloster N (for not much longer), the Toyota GR 86 / Subaru BRZ, the Honda Civic Type R, VW Golf R, the Toyota GR Corolla, the Nissan Z, and this Toyota GR Supra. The fact that 3 of these cars are Toyotas is just proof that the leadership at Toyota knows what they need to do to make quality performance cars a reality. I did not even mention the manual variants of the Mustang, Camaro, and Challenger. Right now we have quite possibly the best affordable, manual sports cars ever made and maybe ever will be made. If people have the ability to buy any of these cars and sleep on them, they will regret it in the future because IMHO, in light of where the car industry seems to be going, these cars have all the makings of future classics. I would not be surprised if supercar owners make their way to a Toyota dealership because of Toyota's amazing lineup, because you can't row your own gears in many supercars with Porsche being the exception.

Toyota addressed both of those issues. I'd definitely buy one now. I remember seeing it for the first time at the NAIAS in Detroit a few years ago, and I asked the Toyota rep if there would be a manual version. • @rex_s80
      @rex_s80 2 года назад +8

      It’s not the flywheel but rather how it’s tuned for emissions. To reduce hydrocarbons of unburnt fuel droplets that form when rapidly closing the throttle body, they have the throttle stay slightly open to keep the air mixing with the fuel so it can combust in the exhaust instead of just fly through unburnt as droplets.

      @@yooseemotoringchannel3357 The mid engined, 0-100 in under 3 seconds, exotic looking sports cars that takes on cars worth 4x that, is in all honesty a bargain at 100k. The GT500 is a 700 HP limited edition Shelby with a hand built engine, they're not the same as a mass produced Toyota. If Toyota made it that expensive they'd likely have to brand it as a Lexus, then people would complain about that as well. The Supra is already an amazing car if you look at it objectively and don't worry about who made what.
