twitch recently added an exclusivity clause which prevents anyone from streaming on twitch and other platforms at the same time. He won't be streaming on twitch if this is true.
95/5 is not sustainable. at 5% Kick need to make $1.4bn per year in revenue from just xQc's viewers to pay his $70m a year contract. That doesn't include the server costs of outputting to the x amount of viewers per hour.
Ya know honestly, this is a really, really good tactic especially if xQc does what charlie just described. Start a stream on twitch, get a shitload of viewers, then say “hey we’re gonna hang out on kick for the rest of the stream” their strategy is to create a siphon, “get it flowing and it’ll keep itself flowing” type beat. It’s a bold strategy cotton, we’ll see if it pays off
Xqc really has life on easy mode. 100.000.000 dollars for doing almost literally nothing… doing the least amount of work. It’s hard for me to understand how anyone on this earth can make that much money for watching RUclips, play video games and eating on stream

Not only that Mixer like Twitch is backed up by big tech unlike Kick, tbh I can't see how Kick will be able to keep up with the infrastructure cost when Amazon who has AWS and Microsoft who has Azure struggled as a streaming platform
Did you even watch the full video? Kick is a Stake company, the same Stake that was banned on Twitch. They're trying to take out the middle-man and owning the full thing. It's easy to move in the right direction if all you do is burn venture capital. Kick isn't even trying to make money, and we all know their end goal is very much to make money.
The reason Stake doesn't advertise on Kick is exactly as you said, they want to hide their involvement with the site. Thats why KiK was registered under a company registered under another company which is 1/3rd owned by the owner of Stake
The Parallels between Twitch and Blockbuster are astounding. I'm surprised Charlie didn't use that as a comparison; a company that was at the top of it's game making a series of terrible decisions that competitors took advantage of and are now destroying them at their own game.

Kick is twitch's biggest opp. On Twitter, Kick prays on Twitches down fall, literally celebrating every bad decision it makes and it's so funny to me.
100 million, huh. Biggest instance of "this is life" ive ever seen
If you told me 4 years ago that Charlie would be sat here in a black shirt and letting his cat playground share half the frame, I’d call you crazy.
If only his cat would hang out there his viewership would double = 3 meow meow
Shut up
Io is actually sleeping in there, you can see her head pop out at 11:55.
If you had told me 10 years ago this guy would reveal his face and become a top ranked channel...
@thatstranger6114 Came into the replies on this comment hoping for this! I remember his video where he discussed why he hadn't revealed his face yet and the issues he had with that. Now look at my boy!! Confidently speaking on camera like a champ!
Never watched even a second of XQC but Twitch getting kicked in the nuts is a view to behold.
They've been hitting their own junk with a 10lb hammer.
Enough nut kicks & they’ll be grabbing their balls to protect them by finding some reason to end Kick’s contract in using the Amazon streaming service
@@CantTellYou They'll end up breaking a deal with Azure services if they haven't already based their subsystems on it.
I'd be surprised if they were 100% Amazon dependent when taking on said company by the horns.
9:19 was a truly heartbraking breathtaking emotional suprising insane sadly inspiring moment
9:19 that burp is demonic
This has got to be one of the most unexpected things I've ever experienced, I never though XQC would do this because he has one of the earliest contracts with Twitch which obviously was better than the later ones but at these numbers I can't blame him in the slightest.
Twitch is simply moving in the wrong direction. & kick is moving in a better direction at least for streamers and their own well being.
hello milk
I think after that Twitch admin incident, many big streamers already thinking to move away slowly. xQc happen to show his hand early.
Yeah, but Twitch never had a chance to buy Kick, so it's not quite the same.
I feel like you just described a very generic situation? Company doing well makes bad decisions now is doing less well
It's almost as much of an own goal as Yahoo's decision in the early 2000s to NOT buy Google for one billion dollars, or Sears killing off its mail order catalog just one year before Amazon started business.
@@ellievampmtfblockbuster pretty much doesn’t exist anymore at all except for one place that isn’t even connected to the home company unless that also closed down.
It was a giant corporation so not really a generic situation.
it's not really the same though: netflix has a completely different model compared to blockbuster, while kick is the same as twitch but they're a bit nicer to their creators
You can just dust over that burp
Charlie just randomly letting one out of his gullet mid sentence genuinely scared the piss outa me XD

more like 10 families combined
@@lexck More like an entire city of families combined
His great grand children will look back on his streaming days like 'wait what thats how he made it?'

Twitch is like that one mom treats their kid like shit and then feels immediate regret when their kid leaves finally.
thats actually a great comparison wow
i didnt think much when i saw this but to see it being 95/5 split is genuinely insane
How is that insane? Platforms are nothing without their creators.
@@toneysebits8458 i didnt meant insane in a bad way lmao
It won't last, no way can they last long term without making it more in their favour.
@@toneysebits8458yet platforms are evil and don’t value their streamers so you never see a deal like this hence twitch’s removal of the 70/30
@@toneysebits8458Creators are nothing without the infrastructure that the platform provided. I'm pretty sure Kick running their infrastructure at a loss.
Building a *free* streaming service is super expensive, that's the only reason why we don't have a lot of big players in this space, only the one who has the technical capabilities that can pull this off.
RUclips has Google which owned Google Cloud Platform, and Twitch has Amazon which owned AWS.
Mixer technically should still survive if they do it right, since it was owned by Microsoft which also owned Azure (Microsoft's cloud business.)
I'm not sure who's behind Kick's infrastructure. But I'm sure if they use 3rd party cloud solution, it's gonna be super expensive for them to maintain.
This is great. I hope we see more of this across the platform. Twitch needs to know that their users and creators aren’t just livestock.

We should show more big corporations that if they're going to keep consistently making bad, greed focused changes that we CAN just go somewhere else
After the Reddit and Netflix disappointments, companies need to know we aren’t all just bark
I have a feeling that's exactly how much he's valued at because, like Felix said, he wants to do different and innovative things on Kick. Kick is going to highly benefit from him because he knows which content is good and which isn't, therefore he knows exactly what's going to benefit him and the platform as a whole, aside from his streams being f*cking long.
isnt it better if his streams are long?
What content is good?
Most shit is just reactions to people that make content...
Lol.
