Fun Fact: When recording the audio commentary for the Unrated DVD and Blu-ray, Robert Downey, Jr. actually spends the entire commentary in the character that appears on the screen as the movie progresses.
Historical Fact: The South East Asian gang Flaming Dragon, led by a pre-teen boy, was modeled after God's Army, a guerrilla army in Myanmar. The group was led by twin brothers Johnny Htoo and Luther Htoo, who were nine years old when it was founded in 1997. Johnny and Luther Htoo were fond of American action movie heroes, especially the Rambo franchise.
Cruise Unbound Fact: Ben Stiller said nearly all aspects of the Les Grossman character were developed by Tom Cruise, including the dancing and the look of the make-up. Stiller said that in addition to the more obvious make-up effects applied to Cruise's face and head, and the extra hair on his chest and arms, Cruise also decided to play the character wearing oversized prosthetic hands.

As you are movie nerds, I also recommend two Sam Rockwell flicks. Like Goon, they are small movies but offer a wonderful intimate and personal viewing experience for the audience. A comedy, Safe Men, starring Rockwell and Steve Zahn is such a fun movie full of great characters acted by great actors. You’ll recognize a few people in there. The other is more serious and artsy, called Lawn Dogs and I’m just going to leave it at “high recommend”. The reason I mention those is because all three are the kinds of movies that have intimate and personal connections with their audience despite low budget or lack or sfx or cleavage or licensed music or whatever.

So yes, it was named after the bazooka, but falls into the RPG family of reusable unguided launchers. Although for all intents and purposes, you could say he had a bazooka variant as all RPGs were based off Bazooka, Panzerfaust, and Panzerschreck designs. Somehow Vietnam mainly copied the Soviet's (probably because they were closer so logistically easier to resupply) but used the American name (because prestige or something?).

And, no comment on "Satan's Alley" as the title of a gay monk movie? Seriously?? Or were your comments youtubed away?
Then there's this from imdb: "The film's title is a play on "Tropic Lightning", the nickname of the 25th Infantry Division, which has seen action in World War II, Korea, Vietnam, Southwest Asia, Afghanistan and Iraq (among others). The division was the subject of The Thin Red Line (1998) and Platoon (1986). Famous members include Oliver Stone and Ice-T." You called it!
And this: "Tom Cruise's character Les Grossman has fat hands. "Les grosse mains" translates to big hands in French."

The mid-level rapper with unnecessary marketing products.
An action movie with too many sequels.
A cheap comedy sequel movie with overused gags.
An Oscar-bait drama movie with edgy storyline that's meant to provoke a sociopolitical discourse.
    😂😂😂😂😂
Not to mention in the film:
    A over-the-top quirky British director.
A newbie actor who is still very enthusiastic to be in a big budget movie.
A novelist who writes a "true story" novel that mostly not true at all.
Tropic Thunder played the Hollywood clichés so well. That's why it's one of the greatest comedy movies of ALL TIME.

I co-stared in a beer commercial 2002? In Vancouver with Ryan Reynolds. He’s become kinda big time. Google him.
To be clear, I was an an extra and for whatever he got a lot more ‘screen’ time. I look more like a beer 🍺 drinker. Makes no sense! Anyway, I wish him well, the acting gig is a tough road. I’m sure he’s working at DQ now

"I'm a dude (Neil Armstrong) playing a dude (Father O'Malley) disguised as another dude (Sgt. Lincoln Osiris)."
Kirk Lazarus (Robert Downey Jr.) has completely forgotten who he is...
Kirk Lazarus was pulled from the refrigerator upon reentry to Earth's atmosphere and through his agent found he had to be a gay priest. Of course Neil Armstong lacked acting experience, but went for Immersive Acting, but without the ability to remember his lines he dropped that and let the script read him. Why not? He's a strong astronaut who usually succeeds at things, but Neil Armstrong found it was hard to lose the persona of being gay and not knowing how to be a black man chose the "Roots" character of Chicken George for his accent, but no doubt it was unnerving to see himself in the mirror when he heard he was scared of himself. Neil Armstrong probably found it hard to understand himself as a black man.
You gotta give credit to Tugg Speedman for knowing how to crack his opponent during an argument.
