- This week I tried the sirtfood diet which is supposedly the diet Adele followed through her drastic weight loss journey. In this video I am only attempting phase one of the diet. I'm not a fan of fad diets but, in only a week I had some pretty nice results.
Sirtfood Diet:
Phase 1:
-Seven day “jump start”
-First 3 days calories are restricted to 1,000 per day: 1 meal/day & 3 green juices/day
-Days four through seven calories increased to 1,500: 2 meals/day & 2 green juices/day
Phase 2:
-Lasts fourteen days “maintenance”
-No calorie limit, eat 3 meals/day made of approved “sirtfoods” & 1 juice/day
Phase 3:
-Repeat phases 1 & 2 or begin incorporating sirtfoods into your daily meals

Right as a millionaire who doesn't have a normal job they have to attend to.....they can hire a personal trainer and nutritionist and whatnot and just spend an entire year working on themselves

I really appreciate the responsible reaction she gave to the diet at the end of the video. It was honest, fair, and a healthy opinion.
There is a “fat” gene. It doesn’t mean you will be fat, but you’re more susceptible to weight gain.
Yes thats true. You can see it in your DNA, I know I have that gene... thats why workouts and diet so hard makes so little for my weight.

Marilyn Jimenez I think you can get gene testing with Quest Diagnostics. I just wanted to say that having this gene only means that you have to be a little more strategic with how you “release your weight.” Try fasting and increasing water intake. I would also suggest finding a good workout that you like and eating healthy. 💕
Marilyn Jimenez I did at ”my heritage”,it said I had the highest risk of high BMI and obesity.. not fun, but I love to work out and to eat plantbased so I hope I can beat the odds 😂
Christen I do fasting 20 hours every day, workout 3-4 times both weights and cardio, I eat no sugar, and eat plantbased and I count calories, and I have still trouble loosing weight😂 That gene is hard!

Nut butters, any fat's really , are very calorie dense. I wouldn't add that. Sick to adding a little fruit if you need to.

Thanks for mentioning that this diet could put someone in a negative head space or trigger someone. I don't think that is talked about enough with a lot of diets or fad diets.
There’s absolutely nothing magical about these foods, other than they are unprocessed whole foods, no refined sugars or flours, and tons of leafy greens, veggies, fruits, and lean protein. ANYONE will lose weight on a diet like that, if they eat fewer calories than they burn. 🙄 It’s a common sense diet.

You can find buckwheat easily in the Asian section/Asian stores (e.g. Japanese soba is usually made of buckwheat). Pro tip: soba is usually eaten cold, so it is rinsed in cold water after its boiled -- doing this removes the slimy feeling and is much more palatable! I would def recommend boiling the noodles, rinsing it with cold water, THEN adding it to your stirfry.
Tons of nations eat buckwheat! Only thick Americans never heard of it. All of Eastern Europeans eat it, as do Asians.

@@lkendall2951 it raises ur cortisol levels, so someone with an adrenal body type (stores most fat around mid-section) will have insane levels of cortisol and have a harder time losing fat. - from a coffee addict :(
She's too cute... this video was very entertaining and I'm glad it was recommended. I know for me I constantly think about my weight and it's been an issue since high school. I have been on a weight-loss journey and lost 75 pounds.. but still have goals to lose more. It's crazy how we put so much work and thought into losing weight and I was reading something recently that said "imagine all of the things you could be doing when you're not worrying about your weight"... that really resonated to me and even watching this video gave me some different perspective especially what she said at the end about restrictive dieting and it affecting your mental headspace because it's a very true statement. So excellent job on this video I think I will subscribe! 🙌🏾

@Peace, Love, Macaroni and Cheese if u look at her cheeks and forehead while she was in the car shopping u can see the texture of her skin raised from slight acne. She has makeup on from day 1 ...later on her skin smoothes out. It’s not like it’s all bc of this specific diet but she did flush her system.
She already had a glowing healthy skin to begin with !!!

Yep. She may have removed a trigger food... Like dairy or just processed foods in general. (or it may also simply be due to her cycle. My skin is always bomb in the week before my period.)

Suggestion: Every European store has a buckwheat. Regular and raw. Whole Foods has it too. It might help someone else who trying to find it.

you can strain the blended greens through cheesecloth, a nut milk bag (basically finer cheesecloth), or a fine mesh sieve to make it more smooth and less pulpy!

If you just eat it, it could be a great Salad and some fruit during the day. Perfectly tasty an it fills much more than any drink.

I make those "sirtfood bites" often, not as part of any special diet, but because they legit taste like brownies lol. idk if you said what the recipe is, but I make mine with walnuts, dates, cocoa powder, and vanilla extract. You can also use like mint extract or orange extract to play with the flavors!!!

Definitely can find buckwheat noodles in the Asian marts. Definitely a staple in Korean and Japanese food.
The green smoothie is probably better for you than just the juice... you're getting the natural fiber and vitamins from the pulp.

It sure is! Around 38yo I started to get some brown sun marks on my face and hands. I've tried everything to get rid of them, but it was in vain. Then I started the green juice diet (mornings only), to boost my energy /imunity. It contained lots of vitamine C (parcely, lemons, baby spinach, but no fruits) + turmenic, fresh ginger. It's been 6yrs now, my skin is clean even after going to the beach. No sun marks. Truth be told, I make an effort to stay on this diet for 10 days a month, especilly in spring, because it helps.
True but green juices are more palatable...its easier to stick to green juices than pulpy parsley kale smoothies...
I thought about doing the sirtfood diet...very briefly though. I am done with severe calorie deficit eating because it sets me up to binge eating. Feeling hungry all the time is a huge indicator that it's a fad diet. Weight loss should be about nutrition and feeling good, not just about how we look. Thank you for taking one for the team because although I enjoy juicing from time to time, I don't like being hangry!

Buckwheat noodles are sometimes known as soba noodles in japan
Love buckwheat, add it to my pot of beans, or soups the last 20 minutes of cooking. Plain buckwheat is also good with nuts and berries for breakfast. You can buy it in the US in the kosher section under "Kasha" or get it online. 🌱
You are literally so entertaining to watch! Anyways, this diet seems horrible :( I’m on weight watchers and I’m down 48lbs as of today! I can eat whatever I want, I just make healthier choices and smaller portion sizes! I’ve always failed on restrictive diets like this one!
Me too! Restricive diets lead me down the path to an ED and I failed miserably. Fast forward a year and I can plan in a small portion Ben & Jerry's after my balanced and wholesome dinner and I haven't felt deprived of food since the end of last summer. I'm losing weight but much more healthier!
What is weight watchers? I also fail every time with restrictive diets and it makes me stress out with just thinking about making a diet :(

I know many people who have lost weight on weight watchers. I’ve tried it myself before & lost 10 lbs in a few weeks. They teach you how to eat portion wise, like you said.

My mom has made me drink this juice every morning since I was 14. She makes it just so I maintain health but if I followed it this way I feel like it would be so easy for me 😭 but like lowkey...I’m lazy but watching this makes me want to change and appreciate my mother more often
