I love this! Loretta like "Don't get it twisted...I know what to do on this stage...LOL" and Jennifer like "Oh shoot, I forgot you CAN sing...LOL" and Sheryl like "I was only the lead singer in the SCRIPT, baby, NOT on this stage with these two...LOL" They sung!
ABSOLUTELY! Head voice and a good mixed voice will preserve the voice for years to come. Great training, and continued training [for maintenance] are so important. Side: I love this clip! Peace and love...
Tony Franklin was my partner at the end of his life he was a true inspiration and when they brought down the aids quilt with his name on top I cries so hard just to know that he is remembered by those still living. No Tony you are NOT forgotten!!! You are LOVED! I miss you my dear friend I think of you often.
It really blesses my heart to see Jennifer & Sheryl come together and be friends again. I know they once were not speakin to each other during or after their performace of DreamGirls and to see them say hey...We're grown, I forgive You for whatever reason is a blessing! Who knows Tyler Perry may work Jennifer Holliday in one of his plays...I'll keep that in my prayers!!
I wished they did a medley from "Move" to "Family" to "Dreamgirls" to "One Night Only" to, well, you get the picture. I was too young and poor to see the performance on Broadway, so I must rely on youtube videos to see the original Dreams. Thanks for posting this.
I am always amazed by Jennifer Holliday's powerful performance of "And I'm Telling You I'm Not Going". I had the pleasure of seeing Miss Holliday perform live several years ago - I hope I get another opportunity to see her perform again! If not, I have a beautiful memory of Miss Holliday performing her signature song LIVE!. I would like to thank Jennifer Holliday for sharing a precious gift - her voice.
Yes!!! Yes!!! Yes!!! I'm going to cry...this is so touching....OMG I didn't know that Gene Anthony Rae was in Dreamgirls...and I saw it on Broadway back in the day...Amazing...RIP Gene Anthony Rae....Jennifer, you betta SANG...You held that damn note at the end....
I have heard Jennifer preform “And I’m telling you” so many times I have lost count. I simply can not imagine going out on the stage and ripping your heart out not to mention her vocal cords 8 shows a week. In videos with a close up the pain and agony in her face is so real. I have read on line polls comparing Holliday & Hudson. Hudson is good, she spent a couple of days in a recording studio but HOLIDAY LIVE 8 TIMES A WEEK, hands down the GOAT.
hahahahahaha love it "and that is why... I just STAND... in the middle" omg she's so funny!!!! they sound like GOD DAMNED ANGELS and she stole that whole moment wit one sentence hahaha i love her!
Full circle people! Isn't is strange how the Effie character was discriminated for her weight, Jennifer's singing career was stifled because of image and Jen comes back in reality smaller than her counterparts? Even if there was a surgery, that's been years ago and her weight has been kept off. Great seeing them all together, looking beautiful and sounding AMAZING!
maaaan..ya'll better stop acting as if you don't know about Loretta Devine! She has a range and voice that is crazy! Jennifer Holliday never got her props but she certainly showed people who owns this song.
Jennifer Holiday sung it 1st and best 🎶🌹🤩💃💖then came Jennifer Hudson both sang the hell out of that song. Makes me wanna go & play my DVD of the movie 😎🤩🤗🤗🤗
Because the "original" was a stage production, few of us can make a true comparison. Cast albums notwithstanding, you HAD TO BE in the theatre to have experienced it. I saw & appreciated the Broadway version with the original cast; but also, thoroughly enjoyed the original film adaptation. Hudson and Knowles deserve everything that has come to them. I cheer them on the way I cheered on Ralph and Holliday, back in '83.
Recently had the Original Dreamgirls soundtrack on repeat but would always skip I'm not telling you. But I am fascinated when I watch her perform it. I did want more Family though, my favorite song.
I will see Ms Holliday on Jan 19th in Oakland CA sing this and am hoping it will be the best she'll have ever sung it, but I must admit that thus far, that was the best last note sung EVER in any of her performances or any other performance by anyone EVER for that matter of this incredible broadway song. Wow.
Lol....I never thought of it that way. It's like the girl in high school that every guy wanted to talk to--fast foward 10yr high school reunion--then you see her again and it's like DAMN what happened to you. She gained a bunch of weight, gold teeth, and 6 kids with over 3 baby daddys; talkin' about: "remember you use to like me?" And NOW she wants your number. You thinkin, HELL NAW. And the fat girl in high school now done lost a bunch of weight, body bangin, she a career woman with no kids, and all the guys thinkin...DAMN. It bees that way.
If you want to see live performances of Broadway shows. You will need to go to Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts in New York City to watch original broadway shows recorded live. However, you can only watch the performance of a single show once in your life. So choose wisely.
Well they had to make it so kids will watch you can't put children in front of the original dreams and expect them to love it I was 6 my 1st time seeing the play but you can't do that now
This is true, but Jennifer can really act. That's the thing, we all know Jennifer for her VOICE! That voice is what got us hooked but I think we are sleeping on her acting skills. I'm going to put up in the atmosphere that the angels of ministering spirits go to work on her behalf that someone puts her back into plays or back in front of film where she belongs. She is totally UNSUNG!!!
I had a coworker who had never heard Ms. Holiday sing "And I'm Telling You" so I found this clip. Sadly, she focused more on the fact that she though Jennifer had to go to the bathroom based on how she was holding her dress in the front and less on the song.... (true story)
I have tried three times...just last week I finally gave it away. I had the film and soundtrack. I did try but it ket making me want the real thing...the Original!!I'm sick of , at the time, them playing it and keep promoting Beyonce and Jennifer Hudson...Eddie Murphy too! It just didn't work for me. The friends that did love it never heard the Original.
For those of us who can appreciate the "original" production of Dream Girls, this is AWESOME!
Lol!!!!
Yes!
Loretta hitting us with, "Heifers, I still sang #dontlettheflufffoolyou" Lorelle finna represent TUH-DAY!
This comment was so funny..OMG my head hurt😂😂😂😂
Sheryl can sing too!
I love Loretta Divine...she is too adorable.
Her singing and speaking voice is so loving 🥰
Every time I listen to Jennifer Holiday sing this song, I fall in love with her GREATNESS all over again! Just Amazing!!!
I'd like to 2nd that!!❤❤❤❤
Jennifer can still SANG that song. Absolutely incredible!!!!
I love Sheryl Lee Ralph! Lorretta Devine sounded incredible and Jennifer Holiday...Need I say anything more, but Miss Jennifer Holiday!!!
ABSOLUTELY! Head voice and a good mixed voice will preserve the voice for years to come. Great training, and continued training [for maintenance] are so important. Side: I love this clip!
Peace and love...
How will head voice preserve a voice?
@@mariahwhitneycelinejanetmadona Head voice doesn’t tire the vocal chords as much as chest voice.

I thought he was still alive

No matter how old this song is I can always listen to Jennifer Holiday sing this song
With those three doing another Dreams Girls would be fabulous. I love ❤️ to see this happens.💯💯💯💯
They did. The originals....
@@deniserice8588 I'm talking about a part two
reminds me of church. Jennifer and Loretta should do a song together

I'm so happy to see Jennifer using her head voice!!! And soundin good!! head voice will save your life singers. promise.
I saw the original Broadway cast....phenomenal!!!!
OH MY GOD WHY AM I JUST SEEING THIS FOR THE FIRST TIME? I CAN NOW DIE IN PEACE!!!!!!!!!
Thank you Kenneth...We were blessed to be there.
This is remarkable. To see the Original Dreamgirls all together again. These Ladies are all Divas in thier own rights.
I have heard Jennifer preform “And I’m telling you” so many times I have lost count. In 40 years of singing that song, how many roofs has Ms. Holliday blown off? It really is an incredible force of nature.
One of the top moments in my life was seeing Jennifer Holiday sing this song on Broadway many years ago.
Jennifer Hudson did an incredible job with this song, but Jennifer Holiday OWNS IT!! Great shout out to Sharon Redd. (RIP)
Amen To That!!! Her Voice Are Stage Strong Like!!! Patti LaBell From The Group The Bluebell's.
Easy to copy and improve, the hardest thing is to be the original. You should know this, if you ever created anything!
This makes me sooooooooo happy to see!!! the orginal ladies of Dreamgirls together and lookng good and in spirit! I love ya'll
She's still got it and looks wonderful; they are all remarkably talented women that paved the way for the others.
This gave me LIFE!!! FABULOUS!
Hugs to all - esp Sheryl Lee Ralph - she doesn't know me - but, we share so much! God bless these amazing talented ladies...
Lorretta still has it! :)
I wish I could have gone. They were the original and the best. I know all the songs by heart
i love these women thank you whoever put this up
Two Emmys and a Tony were on that stage! And if those awards weren’t deserved…but they doggone well were, as these chanteuses clearly demonstrated!
Loretta divine can sanggggg
hahahahahaha love it "and that is why... I just STAND... in the middle" omg she's so funny!!!! they sound like GOD DAMNED ANGELS and she stole that whole moment wit one sentence hahaha i love her!
Come thru ladies!😍😍
Greatness,im glad i lived during their lifetime along with whitney houston, etta james, and donna summer.
They sound good together!
i'm dead....just dead....soooo dead! i have been dreaming about this moment!!!!
From 2:50 - 3:03 I straight fell out! OMG Jennifer you better sing!!
So weird that people my age (39) and under usually only know Loretta Devine as an actress.
She said.. Y’all can stop when you want.. I’ll just be right here still holdin the note.
I was there in that magical night in Boston.
Love it!
Im glad im not the only one who feels that way
simplismente magnifico

Their like beautiful song birds!🐦🐦🐦
Nothing like the original!
Love it didnt know it but love it .....get it ladies
Now that what you call singing and shut the door and bust the windows out with that voice.
maaaan..ya'll better stop acting as if you don't know about Loretta Devine! She has a range and voice that is crazy! Jennifer Holliday never got her props but she certainly showed people who owns this song.

Well said, life is a process of growth & change & at different rates for every being, so we can learn a lot not to judge our fellow (wo)man, right?
That note at the end u go girlllll
I wish I had the DVD of the original Dream girls 😍😍😍🌹🌹🌹

R.I.P. Gene Anthony Ray!!
The Dreamgirls are beautiful and Loretta looks good enough to eat. Woof Woof!
Recently had the Original Dreamgirls soundtrack on repeat but would always skip I'm not telling you. But I am fascinated when I watch her perform it. I did want more Family though, my favorite song.
Why on God's green earth would you skip that song??....
3 loving, black beautiful queens😘

How was it?
Kind of ironic that Jennifer Holiday is the thinnest of the three.
True, but I would still holler at Sheryl Lee first.
Thang Vuong had her stomach stapled
+Kathy Swallows Your just a wealth of information aren't you?
that's how it always is ain't it lol

OMG!!
I always thought that Loretta would play a pretty good Effie
Loretta said, not today Jennifer.
I too notice Loretta started harmonize when Jennifer got that compliment from the audience 😂
yes mom yes
Perfection at its best. This is and always be The Dream Girls. That movie sucked!
Well they had to make it so kids will watch you can't put children in front of the original dreams and expect them to love it I was 6 my 1st time seeing the play but you can't do that now
shut up
Beyonce ruined it.
Hudson was nowhere near Oscar-worthy.
8:39 WOOOOOOOOO, MISS HOLLIDAY!!
✋😌
Awesome

You should have showed your friend Miss Hollidays 1982 Tony Award Performance...That would have been a better video to show..:)
Noel Avila TELL IT......LOL I seen the Broadway play in New York in 1982
I have tried three times...just last week I finally gave it away. I had the film and soundtrack. Take us to church well!
