Wow. Your wife is well down to earth and a total legend!! If I had brought that back to my wife she would have gone mental. Awesome motor and I know you will smash it bruv!!! Great project.
Not if they use a pacifier to keep a kid quiet. Pacifiers are for soothing purposes lonely. Pacifiers are only used at night to help the child fall asleep and then you take it out of their mouth
As Tavarish would say..."that'll buff out" lol. Also what a beautiful family. If there is someone who can have this thing looking and running like new again in 6 days it is you Dean! Let's go!!!
Such a thoughtful present for the wife, I am quite shocked how well she took it, I know if I had been as nice to my beloved I would be sharing the sofa with the dog. Great work and what a goal you have set yourself, I hope you have a plan "B".
At least 5 matching alloys always a bonus mate 👍🏻Everyday is a school day Dean. As for your wife Dean she’s your biggest supporter Dean so you’ve got yourself an absolute keeper. Well done to you both and your lovely family. Congratulations 🎉

No worries, I'm sure she will come round to it. Great shame about the scratch but these things happen. Looking forward to this one and I hope it turns out just fine for you. Good luck! Cheers, Bob.
You've got a keeper there Dean! Im sure I speak on behalf of 90% of the married blokes here that if we brought this back we would be either sleeping in the shed or the sofa for the forseeable future! You'll get her fixed up in no time 💪🏻 enjoy your time away with the family making memories 👍🏻
The bus is in good hands. looking forward to your wife's reaction when its fixed. great content as expected. seeing you drop a video brightens up my day mate
Oh wow I bet your Mrs was well impressed Dean 😂, mine would send me right back to buy another one without damage and a flea in my ear for good measure 😁, seriously though they are great family transport 👌🏻.
I am an avid watcher of your videos and never comment.. today I am braking the mould I am actually looking forward to this series... as other channels never do vehicles that other drivers strive to want to drive especially if you are disabled or do not have the body manoeuvrability to get into lower vehicles. I cant drive anything lower than a renault scenic 2
Great to see a bus on the channel, had a t5 from new in 09 and loved it with a young family. Trips to Cornwall and France a doddle. And my wife used it as her daily for 8 years. Good luck with the build and deadline, you never do the easy route.. hats off to you 🤛
Nice to be able to put a face to Alysha after the emails. Cracking Caravelle, given the work and shortage of time, I don't expect to see the finished video till after you have been to Cornwall. With that in mind good luck and I hope you get the weather and have a great time on holiday.
Had a vw camper and a caravelle. The caravelle best van I’ve ever owned. Camped in it, had cement mixers in the back yet can blast down the motorway with 7 onboard all day in comfort. Worth every penny, will never get rid of mine 👍👍
Hi Dean I have a 2017 version you have quite a high optioned caravelle Full leather is a option adaptive cruise control led are also options as is the two tone paint lovely vehicle look forward to seeing it finished.
Hi Dean..Spot on on spoiling your wife with her new vehicle..Let me say the look on her face when seeing the damage..What a great project..Good on you..

I know that feeling when you scratch your car. You can't help concentrating on it. Of course you seem to forget about the damage already to fix. We tend to do that. Anyway it's a great buy, I'm sure you'll have a beauty when you finish. Good luck from Australia.
Absolutely gutted for you regarding that scratch on the side. Apart from that it’s a beautiful bus and I think you will 100% finish it on time for your family trip.
Your wife reminds me of the actress Megan Fox 😮same Beauty 👍. That T5 Bus looks great 👍.Hope you and your family have a really good time with that Bus 👍👍.From Germany
Love this project and when I saw it come up I didn’t think I would. Think you’re ever so slightly mad though……..time pressure like that would really stress me 😂………Lovely family you’ve got there Dean and really great to see them featured on camera.
Dean, hope you manage to get the work done in time, gutted about the left side getting scratched. I sure you will get it sorted though subject to the parts turning up of course. You can then get away with your lovely family. Love the channel and always look forward to the next video coming out. Good luck 🤞

Love the Caravelle. Beautiful to drive. Your wife will love it. Loads of ladies drive them in the different formats (campers etc) Don’t worry about the scratch for now, the Cornish narrow roads might give you a couple more and you can fix them all at the same time when you get back 😜 I’m excited to see the finished product. Good luck 🤞
You have a lovely family Dean and this is a project that is all about them so I know you'll do a great job. One of the best cars we ever had when our kids were growing up was a well spec'd Seat Alhambra with 7 seats and although we only had 3 kids, they were able to have their own space which saved lots of squabbles. We had a fantastic camping holiday in Cornwall (Perranporth) back in 2004 which our kids remember and still talk about to this day. Of course that might be due to the fact we got caught in a severe storm on our last day and had to abandon camp at 1am and head home. We were told by security that our tent was the last one still standing and that several caravans were on their sides. That was a stressful evening to say the least! Our two youngest kids thought it was a funny game but our eldest was old enough to realise that mummy and daddy were seconds away from disappearing into the Atlantic Ocean holding on to the frame of the tent! Somehow we disassembled the tent without damage and got everything and everyone into the car to head home to Scotland. It was still one of our best holidays despite (or perhaps because of) the drama of that last night. :)
Great find! You called it a Bus which is the correct thing to say in the VW Scene. These are so easy to work on and hold there money. If you need any help head over to either the T5 or T6 Forums were I’m a moderator on both. Good luck Dean!!
Nice to meet your children and your lovely Wife, the Bus will be done before the Holiday is starting next week, i am sure that you succeed to fix the damage on this nice looking Bus !!
Feel your pain dude. I have 3 kids too, 14 yr old girl and twin boys about the same size as your eldest son in the video. Complete nightmare finding a nice vehicle for a family of 5. I looked at one of those, but in the end bought a Tiguan Allspace (also 7 seats) but not as much room. Those are nice vans though and they drive like a car, so I am sure your wife will love it once she gets used to the size of it. Nice direction for the RUclips channel too. BTW Enjoy your holiday, you will be passing me, as I live in Somerset.
I had a T5.1 bi turbo carvelle executive brilliant, but take advice to remove the EGR cooler .Today, Monday, 3 people I know have told me about this video and that you are fixing a caravelle, you've hit gold here Dean, seems .mega popular this one..
Gutted for the extra damage down the side. I’m guessing it was only because you were in a rush, so don’t beat yourself up too much as it happens to all of us Definitely looks like a great family rig. I had a manual T5 LWB 4Motion Transporter with the rear seat package & it was the best family holiday vehicle we ever had. You’ll have a blast in it.
Buying your wife a broken Van one week before you plan on taking it on vacation ? Is there anyone we should call for you, 999 perhaps ? In case of serious bodily injury ??😂🥰 love the channel.
As an owner of a VW bus myself (which I’m slowly fixing up) love to see this sort of content added to your channel, it will make a cracking vehicle, next thing to do would be to get it converted into a camper, though wait till the kids are a bit older 😂

Lovely to meet the family. We have just done a trip to Cornwall in our new T6.1 kombi from GTE custom vans. Mate you’ll have the best time. Make sure it ends up on 20’s 😉
Great vehicle for a family. Loving the two tone paint job, I'm sure it will look very smart once it's all complete again. Good luck for the coming days work:)
Should of got t5 legs and part that’s crumpled a lot cheaper than t6 but same, I’ve got a t5 but in middle of a facelift to 6.1 and engine conversion, their brilliant vans, probably best car you bought so far, great for the family
We had a t5 caravelle for 13 years whilst the kids grew up, it was a fantastic family car. The only problem being whenever going out with friends your driving . I put 2 tvs in the roof and my kids liked travelling backwards.
A great buy Dean. I’m a big fan of the channel and admire what you are achieving so far mate. A well spec,d bus and will look great when finished ( hopefully on time ) lol. Good to see something different too 👍
NICE! Like the slightly different video Dean! Do like those vans, but i think you're gonna have a job getting it done by the time you need to take it away - fingers crossed there's no other gremlins in there lurking. Didn't like the way the dash lights flickered and went a bit odd - hopefully just battery related. You have a great little family and a supportive wife too - good luck dude!
Hey Dean your wife looked absolutely thrilled with her new car😅 expecting a flash rangerover maybe? I'm sure it will look amazing when finished & it's the perfect vehicle fir you & family touring Cornwall, good luck on the build.
If theres any one who can do it its you dean and whst a lovely family hope the weather changes before you come down to Cornwall bit damp atm best of luck
Hi Dean, it looks like it has electric side steps / running boards I believe they were an option? Definitely available as aftermarket, if it does have them it’ll be a bonus for the missus and the kids as it makes it much easier for them to get in and out - well at least it was for my brood…..good luck with the build.
They would I agree, but then again they rely on relays etc located in the engine bay…. I hope it does have them as they are a great benefit to climbing in and out.
Beautiful motor that dean you’ll make it as good as new for your family with your top repair skills. I’d be more confident driving a car you’ve fixed than one that’s come of a factory line. Does it have iso on the back row dean?
Love the content on this one, I have a T5.1 Caravelle and it’s a great versatile bus, yours in good spec, full leather, you should have air on in the back as well as the front, maybe even a night heater
Great video Dean 👍 Its going to make a lovely car once finished. Just one thing, I hope you don’t mind me mentioning it, you refer to damage to the chassis leg and that you have a new one coming. There doesn’t appear to be any damage to the near side chassis leg, as you were able to bolt on the new rad pack to test fit it. Don’t you mean, you have a new a-pillar and near side inner wing and lamp panel coming? Keep up the good work mate 👏
Tidy motor, that will ride up with wear so to speak,a very straight forward repair,I would be very happy for a member of my family including myself to drive this vehicle
I know there are some great salvage channels on RUclips, but you never fail to impress me with the sheer size of takss you take on by yourself... and the added deadline for this job makes it even more compelling! Hope you and the family travel in style in the bus to Cornwall!!!
Your definitely pushing yourself hard Dean, usually something has to give. Take your time, take the Skoda on holiday, it'll still be there when you get back.
I’ve been a body tech over 30 years. My advice is to use a proper spot weld drill bit. You don’t drill through both panels then.you’ll need to take that front end back off to do the fuse box and that. They’re a proper pain in the arse.
Love the bus !! Hope all works out well 🙏🍀 When you get back from your holiday there is a " must do upgrade" for that engine type. You need to fit an after market oil cooler. These engines go up and over 130°C on oil temperature, which will always have consequences. Ask me how I know 🙈 It's quite an easy fix, and you'll have no worries for the future. Good luck with the fix, with best regards from Germany 🙏
Really think this could be the build of the channel so far. Deadline in place and not the easiest repairs to work with….I’m looking forward to this one big time.
Nice find, should come together quickly by the looks of it. Bummer about the side scrape, these things happen mate. It will be a great family vehicle for you when it u it s repaired. Lovely family .👍
In the rest of Europe this version is known as Multivan. A massive upgrade from your ordinary Caravelle. We had a T5, excellent family cruiser! Covered most of Europe in it, and even went once for Easter to England!
Great meeting the wife and kids. Well done Dean, great episode.

Very nice to see you all not just you on your own. I’m certain she will be surprised 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 with the finish
Bloody heck 🤣 shock understatement of the year ! Brilliant…… Is it aesthetic? Oh my days ….. great stuff!
I know there are some great salvage channels on RUclips, but you never fail to impress me with the sheer size of takss you take on by yourself... and the added deadline for this job makes it even more compelling! Hope you and the family travel in style in the bus to Cornwall!!!
100% agree with you bud
Thank you mate, it’s much appreciated 😊
Your definitely pushing yourself hard Dean, usually something has to give. Take your time, take the Skoda on holiday, it'll still be there when you get back.
love your work Dean keep up the good work
I’ve been a body tech over 30 years. My advice is to use a proper spot weld drill bit. You don’t drill through both panels then.you’ll need to take that front end back off to do the fuse box and that. They’re a proper pain in the arse.
ive got a t6 and converted it myself to a camper. you will love it!
Love the bus !! Hope all works out well 🙏🍀
When you get back from your holiday there is a " must do upgrade" for that engine type. You need to fit an after market oil cooler. These engines go up and over 130°C on oil temperature, which will always have consequences.
Ask me how I know 🙈
It's quite an easy fix, and you'll have no worries for the future.
Good luck with the fix, with best regards from Germany 🙏
Ahh okay nice one I’ll look into it 👌🏼
All the best with the repair, looking forward how things progress.lovely family.
You've got a lovely family there mate. Well done for all of the hard work and effort you put into your videos. You are one of the good guys in life.
Thankyou mate we appreciate that 😊
Really think this could be the build of the channel so far. Deadline in place and not the easiest repairs to work with….I’m looking forward to this one big time.
probably 1 of the most luv vehicles in South Africa ...!!!nice 1 Dean wife/family will enjoy it
Brilliant content. Brave undertaking and hope it all goes as planned. Look forward to next episode. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Nice find, should come together quickly by the looks of it. Bummer about the side scrape, these things happen mate. It will be a great family vehicle for you when it u it s repaired. Lovely family .👍
Absolutely brilliant idea mate and well done for getting hold of it!
“Oh, bloody heck”. 😂😂. You have a lovely family Dean. You luck with the repair and have a great holiday.
In the rest of Europe this version is known as Multivan. A massive upgrade from your ordinary Caravelle. We had a T5, excellent family cruiser! Covered most of Europe in it, and even went once for Easter to England!
Good job Dean....Good luck with only 2 days on repairs..
Hi Mate, you are simply amazing at what you do, I can't wait to see the rest of the videos in this series! Cheers Drew
Thank you! Cheers!
A nice Family for a nice guy, the bus will be great when its finished.
