I got it and am very satisfied with it. Very small amount of black smearing, not noticeable. Bloom is Not really noticeable in games. I also haven't really dealt with the free sync flicker, hasn't been an issue. Gets very bright and looks great.
This is easily the best sub-$300 monitor available right now, and might be one of the best under $500. The segment is full of low-quality VA panels that smear or IPS panels with a contrast ratio lower than the average gamer's BMI.
@@TheNewCoalition You'll notice them if you're coming from IPS, but I got used to it like I got used to my S3422DWG (which is also a VA and I'd say has way worse viewing angles than the AOC)
@@bluesharpie9744 I see, yeah mine is an IPS right now, it's a 15 inch laptop screen though so it's annoyingly small as it is. What about the black smearing is that an issue with the AOC? I'm really torn between IPS and a VA, the backlight bleed on IPS worries me and the viewing angles and black smearing worries me on VA...there seems to be tradeoffs no matter what you do...
@@TheNewCoalition This VA panel has virtually no noticeable black smearing in my experience (check RTINGS too, it has better response than some IPS panels in certain areas) and it's only noticeable with scrolling white text on dark backgrounds. I wouldn't say it's much worse than this random 240hz IPS panel I have on my laptop. It's certainly a lot better than my S3422DWG which was already regarded as a decent response time panel
🤣 Yep! Mine as well. My wife was really impressed with how much nicer my monitor is compared to our tv as a 4k tv. HDR1000 keeps what it promises. However, a bit in the red direction, but resolved with that put red on 46.

Ended up buying one for my brother as its a good way to show him HDR without needing to spend a ton right now. Also no Burn in which for him is really easy to do... He plays a lot of the same games ( talking thousands of hours between each game... )

It would definitely be my pick if I could get it anywhere in Europe. But sadly it's almost impossible to find and it's like 60% more expensive, with speculation that European model suffer a certain flaw. So bad luck for Europe. The only other viable alternative I see is the Gigabyte M27Q (which has much worse HDR).
2 months in and it's still 480€ on amazon... The only other Mini Led Vesa HDR certified i can find from respectable sellers is the Acer XV275U P3 at 300€...
Good info. I bought it last year from Amazon when first released. I returned it due to the flicker she mentions when freesync is enabled. It was annoying and a deal breaker. I thought I had a bad copy but it appears its an issue. I can confirm it is a freesync issue as the flickering no longer happens when either freesync is turned off or you set the refresh rate to 144 Hz or lower. (My gpu is RX 6950 XT) I went with LG 27GR93U instead. Great monitor. The LG has better HDR also even though its only HDR 400. HDR on the AOC looked dull. There are 3 or 4 HDR modes on the AOC but none of them looked right.

The time to buy seems to have passed... Had been close to 260 on amazon... Now the price has gone up $100( and for a used model!!!) and theyre arent any new ones available... Almost regretting returning mine. For gaming the contrast was to me unparalleled. But the mini led was a bit too artificial for movies. Peoples' faces arent supposed to glow.
@courageoyibo6716 Yeah, so I got the monitor. The software issues such as the colour options are fixed, so you can select between srgb, dci-p3, and standard. The viewing angles are kinda bad. When you are looking straight, the corners do look kinda washed out, but no one will notice that. It is a really nice monitor and GREAT HDR. I got a stuck pixel(the red subpixel died), so that one only displays green/blue colours. So bad luck for me but other than that it's really really good!

wish there was a tutorial on adjusting settings but... so far. having local dimming strong, hdr on "displayhdr" looks good i tried turning vrr on ps5 it says its not supported wont be messing around with adjusting LOL
Yeah, Medium local dimming maybe if you're in a very bright lit room lol. Use this in a dark room and suddenly that Medium setting looks flat out grey.
@@johnprivat4379 I use strong local dimming and the blacks get pitch black, but you do see some scenes where blooming can crop up, but that's the name of the game with FALD in general. I mostly love this monitor. It's about an 85-90 percent incredible HDR experience, the 10-15 percent bad is only when a few moments of distracting blooming happens (but it's not super often).
Hello fellow gamers and monitor shoppers I’m trying to decide what to buy on Black Friday with all these great options, I’m currently torn between the MSI 274URWF & The Acer XB273U, as my top two but also considering the KTC H27P22S or maybe M28U. they’re all pretty similar in pricing, all 4k displays at 144hz or more with hdmi 2.1! I play on a ps5 and play mostly FPS games, if anyone has any input I’d really appreciate it.
i bought this monitor but on xbox series x if i set 1440p and 120hz it looks like 1080p. Any xbox owner had this impression? Only in hdr the images are good

Not only is it overpriced. AFAIK there is an issue regarding the European stock version being straight up worse than the US one. Take this comment with a grain of salt-- Quote from Rtings review: "To answer my own question, I believe it’s because of different firmware. Had OAC. Bad warranty, bad customer service, bad quality control. Many computer stores in Canada stopped selling AOC products due to all the issues, returns and warranty claims/problems.
i got lg ultragear va pannel at 165 hz and it is indeed god tier and costs about 300 so yeah you wanna spend 1100 for a god tier dellienware monitor also yes save some money

This kind of performance cost me 1200 a few years back.(actually, it was inferior hdr1000, as it had like 32 dimming zones instead of 336)

For this monitor why does the vrr work on the Xbox series X and not on the Ps5?
Because unlike the Xbox, the PS5 requires HDMI 2.1 for VRR while as for Xbox it works for HDMI 1.4, 2.0 and 2.1 all along.

yeah I much prefer the strong local dimming setting. Same with the overdrive setting, I also set that to strong.
